I have the jammer arms for the G12, what I don`t like is that it has no sled to just move them up/down, you have to unscrew, get them out and reset, which takes too long.

Hi, could you demonstrate the limitations of the jammer arms on the G3 (gen 1)? I've read your review, but would like to see the exercises that you listed you could perform from your review before purchasing the upgrade kit.

Hey David, I don't have access to the original one with the upgrade jammer arms to be able to test and film this, unfortunately. However, if you're worried about limitations, I would recommend considering a custom jammer arm option. I always point people toward Savage Strength Equipment (instagram.com/savage_strength_equipment/) who specializes in custom equipment requests including jammer arms -- send him a DM. He can make jammer arms that would fit on any part of the uprights on the Gen 1 G3 (both the 2" and 1" sections). It'll cost a bit more than the Force USA upgrade kit, but it's still reasonably priced for custom work.

Unrelated question about my g12. The smith bar has started to slowly slide down so is not completely counterbalanced. Would you know why this is and how to correct? Was perfect when I got it abou 18months ago

Interesting, haven't heard of that happening before. Have you noticed anything different physically about the Smith machine components, such as the cables that connect to it on each end, which are part of the counterbalance system? If it's nothing apparent like that, I'd recommend reaching out to their customer service. Possibly there's something you'll need uninstall, fix, then reinstall. Let me know if you hear anything; I can always drop a line myself to their product guy.

@@king_of_the_gym thanks for the reply. Everything seems right and tight. The smith bar only has a very slow decline so it's not the end of the world. I don't have the roof height to pull the counterbalance and cable out without taking it all apart. I will have a chat with customer service and see what they suggest.

@@XxXTMillzXxX Oh, that sucks about the ceiling height, you definitely don't want to have to fully disassemble it lol. But at least it's only a very slow slide. Let me know if you're able to find a solution (or not).

Can this be used on the G20 base model (not pro)?

It'll work on the original (pre-November 2022) model of the G20, BUT only on the 1" hole spacing section of the rack. It won't work on the upper section of the original G20, which has 2" hole spacing. So this will eliminate some exercises where the jammer arms are installed higher up.
