david, the video is great quick and to the point. I did it and the fob worked but with the new key, while is turns in the ignition the nv200 will not start. I took my main key and put in the house in case there was radio interference, any ideas?
thank you so much for your tutorial and links! you have LITERALLY saved me more $200. The dealership was going to charge me $300 for the exact key and programming. A auto locksmith was going to charge me about $250. Your link to the $25 set of two keys, instructions on how to program them, and home depot cutting the keys for me for less than $5 = SOOOO FUUCKING HAPPY!!!!
Woohoo! So glad this video helped you. That is how I felt after getting the same quotes you did. What a rip off most people charge! Especially to program this key. Great idea on Home Depot too! That's cool that they were willing to cut it! Thanks for leaving me a comment and letting me know about your success 😁👍🤑
Quick question. Did the key work in starting your car? I got it programmed so it'll unlock and lock the car remotely. And i got it cut so it'll stick into the ignition and turn but it won't start the engine. Is there another step I'm suppose to take? I read something about a transponder chip. Is that something that needs to be programmed?
Update: apparently newer Nissan cars have a transponder chip that needs to be programmed and matched to your car so i still needed to go to the dealership to get that done. But all and all, still saved money vs getting everything done at the dealership.
@@DigitalDavid What they mean is even after the key is cut it won't start the engine. There is a transponder in the original key and engine won't start without it.
This doesn't work for my 2018 Nissan AD van. After removing the key 6 times the doors unlock but the Hazzard lights doesn't flash. Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi do you leave the key in accessory mode and on that key press the unlock? I’m doing that and hazards flash but when take key out it still isn’t working!
My girlfriend's father owns a 2024 Versa s. The original key (a traditional key with no buttons) stopped turning the ignition on; it works for manually locking and unlocking the doors only. This occurred after his wife made two additional copies. He went to the dealership to inquire about making an additional copy of the key. They charged him $75.00 for the key and are asking for another $250.00 to "program" the key. Once they cut the key, do they really need to program it or are they just trying to get in his pockets?
I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with the Nissan Dayz 2017 model specifically. However, the programming process for Nissan car keys is generally similar across different Nissan models and years. You may want to consult your car's owner manual or reach out to a Nissan dealership or certified locksmith for more specific information on how to program your Nissan Dayz 2017 model key fob. cnl
Followed the steps but I got all doors unlocking rather than hazards. Turning to ACC and pressing button didnt achieve anything further. Anyone else have this?
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the key programming process. It's possible that there may be some variation in the programming process depending on the specific make and model of your Nissan vehicle. Have you tried consulting the vehicle owner's manual or contacting a Nissan dealership for assistance with the programming process? They may be able to provide additional guidance or troubleshoot any issues that you may be experiencing. cnl
After my NISSAN TIIDA 2006 car battery died : I got a power start up from a battery power pack & after that my remote does not work anymore & it does not reprogram at all ??? I don’t know what to do ...
There are 3 parts to getting this key working correctly 1. Get key blade duplicated from original key with a Locksmith 2. Get the transponder chip in the key cloned as a copy of the original key with a Locksmith 3. Program the remote control function into the vehicle. This is the part that this video illustrates .
Thank you Digital Dave! That worked on my new key fob for one of the 2 keys I had purchased. The second key has a dead battery but the local Ace Hardware was able to cut the keys to the ignition and they work perfectly! No "Smart Key" for the 2017 Nissan Versa Note.
Someone help Works but my horn doesnt chirp anymore when i lock my doors i did the hold lock and unlock buttons trick but it still doesnt work my horn works when i honk and when i press panic but not when locking the doors like usual
You have to press the lock and unlock button together at the same time and that should fix it. If it doesn't the first time try, repeat it and it should work.
Hi digital David..I did what you showed in the video but it only the remote control workes . it didn't start the engine ..what can I do to start the engine?thank you for your help..
Excellent point Meril, the chip has to either be cloned or programmed with a diagnostic tool, that is where it gets expensive. This video is quite deceptive.
Do your newly programmed keys start the car? The transponder chip is required by the BCM to send a "Go/No Go" signal to the ECM. If the BCM/ECM do not recognize the chip, it shouldn't start.
@@odonusa007 I was wondering about that because I have a key that will unlock the car using the lock but won't start the car anymore. I'm sorry to hear that the Nissan car key programming tutorial didn't work for you. This procedure is for the fob. The fob used to be separate from the key. The key for starting the car has a chip in it and this how to video is for programming the fob. It's a very misleading video. The chip in the key is a small black piece about a cm long by about 4 mm wide and 3mm thick. It used to be only the dealership could alter the chip. Other than that I don't have a clue.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that reprogramming the key from your 2007 Sentra to work with your 2004 Altima will be successful. The key fob programming process typically involves specific instructions and codes that are unique to each make and model of vehicle. Therefore, it's best to consult with a professional or dealership to ensure that the correct programming process is followed to avoid any issues or additional expenses. cnl
