This is definitely the very best video for potential buyers of a Bell 505 it covers more valuable information than all of the others Bell videos that have come before it combined. This is the kind of videos that Bell needs to do for there company videos. I would of liked to see him do some long line loads with it and see his reaction to operating the 505. Learning about the equipment (505) in comparison to R44 and R66 from an actual operator of those types is extremely valuable and helpful. This video made for a very good endorsement of the 505. Now if only Bell made 505’s in the USA in Texas. Very good video, thanks to everyone involved.
@@themendotaranch You guys are more than welcome, my wife and I have been watching a bunch of your older videos now too, White out of place rock, Other helicopters videos, Shooting from the air Fire fighting with a water bucket Weed killer bucket And so one Horse shoeing, Ranch work stuff, Before your video with the 505, We had never heard of you and your ranch. Voldemort at it again! I will never get used to this fugly thing. A relief is the mentioning of the competition with the R66: It is not supposed to be a better Jetranger. It's just to take a cut from Robinson. Good explanation for this missing nose and the after-thought horizontal stabilizer.

@@themendotaranch Expanding Rotor Recoil to Las Vegas is a fantastic idea ! Definitely would be an♠️ in the hole for your company !!! Best of luck to you on all your new adventures.🍀 Your process of eliminating the cedar trees is just absolutely awesome ! 👍
Like your videos [for the helicopter content] ,just curious, did or would you buy a 505? and what are your thoughts on a jetranger [206]? thx, keep up the good work.
Yup....she sure is pretty! Seems she's checkin' a lot of boxes for you as well. Not sure why you titled this 'demo' flight though, sounds to me more like 'sales flight' lol!! SOLD!! Pretty exciting stuff to hear a sneak peek about the cedar pellets! I knew it'd be useful as hell! As a huge fan of the green and that in which it lives, I can really get behind and appreciate the ability to target a specific tree rather than 'area' around a tree to dose. It's nice to think that which the cedar is killing or going to kill will have a fighting chance to come back and thrive once the cedar is gone, rather than a whole area have to struggle to recover and hopefully take back it's place before something else settles in. I pray you never have to deal with Scotch Broom. Vegas, eh? My old stomping ground. Mom moved us there when I was 16 and I came to full adulthood, there...what a place to live. A Universe unto itself, it spoiled me for the longest time it was so unique and Wild West, made it hard to spend more than 2 weeks anywhere else on vacay, I just wanted to go home most of the time. People are weird outside of Vegas LOL! You'll do well there to branch out Rotor Recoil. It's what we used to do growing up minus the copter LOL! Go out to the desert and shoot, hoping you don't' stumble across any bodies. Yeah...it's still Vegas haha. A lot of people just see the lights and glitzy machines without realizing that Vegas is Cowboy Country through and through and until recently has been a huge 2A state. Too bad about those derned politicians though... Note to tourists: All those lights and glitz are just to distract you and pull you in the door so we can take your money to keep cowboying. Full Stop. Loved the video, was fun to tag along, Jason!! Looking forward to our first flight on the ranch!! Sounds to me like you may have 2 new customers wanting to give the range a go LOL!! See you next time, cowboy.
@10:00 I heard a train in the background. Our railway tracks and rail infrastructure have mostly been stolen in South Africa. You lucky first worlders....
Flew its great granddaddy in combat as an Army scout pilot. 317 SHP that couldn’t keep out of the yellow. In VN always in yellow temp at a hover or in low speed tree top flight. Never had to look at torque gauge. But, it could autorotate like no other helicopter I have flown. Granted, my experience is half a century ago. Always asked to compare it to the Hughes 500. This thing has great performance features and modern glass cockpit features and air conditioning. But, all that to the good, it misses something in eye appeal.
This review had some truly tasty tidbits of info which I haven't seen in other 505 videos. One question. You mentioned that the MD530 was really expensive to operate. Could you speak a little more on this subject? Was it mostly the fuel burn of the 250- C30 turbine or maybe time limits on critical/expensive components? I have foolishly believed that the unique rotor head straps, the simple transmission and lack of hydraulics on the main rotor would bring cost savings. Thanks for sharing any insight on this matter!
i looked at robinson, they are ugly, main shaft is tootall. i took delivery of my 2024 505 i call her gertrude. came white but it is now candy blue with ghost flames too me it is a helistreet rod , simple to fly cheaper than my old jet ranger. engine also lasts longer in the 505. i love it. just wish the front glass had more shading but i am sure i will get used to it. i take it grocery shopping in it. i do love it. i also love that glass panel with taws and the simple way to start it. the auto pilot is pretty cool i ordered it loaded as far as avionics, the a/c blows cold. a lot better than the 206
I had no idea that the 505 was competition for the R 66. I was thinking that the Bell 206 just evolved and up graded. I did not know that the 206 was no longer in demand, people not buying it any longer. Once again the government is causing the price of things to exceed the market. That is too bad :(
