- Two foreign tourists staying at a nearby youth hostel compete against each other to stay in a luxury suite at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. All they have to do is answer some questions about our city and state in a game we call Hostel La Vista!

Maybe its because I’ve stayed at a few hostels while studying abroad, but did anyone else think those hostels really didn’t look that bad for $30 a night and that the Roosevelt really didn’t look that great for “luxury”?
Yeah he sounds like hostels are bad I used to stay in hostels and I still probably will if I solo travel in Europe. They are not bad and always meet cool people.

But we only saw the lobby/ entrance, not the rooms.
@@aquaticllamas28 Meeting people was the reason for me staying in hostels as well. I met so many great people, some of whom even became friends that I am still in contact with after more than a decade of meeting them. Hostels rule.

FUN FACT: I actually worked the front desk at that hostel, back when it was called Hollywood Youth Hostel (circa 2014). I worked there when segment producers came in looking for guests to feature for the show and I helped them pick out some.I love Hostel La Vista. I've been watching this segment since 2014. Glad to see this segment and the hostel exists (except its changed names and owners a few times since 2014).

I saw a bearded lady walking through the Roosevelt Hotel when I realized who she was it was like oh cool apparently it's a very nice hotel and she would stay there again
