Depends on what kind of financial crimes. If you’re scamming and defrauding grandmas and stealing their life savings you’d best believe that the judge is most likely not gonna go easy on you. But in this case the harm from his actions wasn’t really tangibly felt by any actual person so I’m sure that played a role in him getting a light sentence.

His product was selling at about 75% of legit cable companies. His costs were purely administrative and delivery, he had zero contracts with studios, so yeah he's just as bad if not worse than the cable companies because his profit margins would have been way higher.

Omi stated himself that the TH-cam channel is what ultimately saved him from 25+ years. It was the platform and exposure from TH-cam that raised alot of peoples awareness to his case.
He seems smart and savvy enough to start something legit when he gets out. Hopefully he’s working out those details now.
