  • Parking lot sessions are exactly what they sound like: see a decent parking lot with a cool view, skate it, film it, post it. This one takes place at the Sego Lily Business Park in Sandy, UT - on the streets between the buildings and in the parking garages.

    This is hands down my favorite skating video on TH-cam. Can't stop watching it. The setting and the music are amazing and the focus on the technique is right up my alley, since I'm into fitness skating. Could you do a tutorial on crossovers? Currently I'm trying to get them, but I'm still struggling (mostly because of fear of falling). I would love to see more content from you. It has been a while since your last video, but every single one was incredibly helpful. Cheers from Germany.

      Jordan River Parkway is great (mostly North of Gardner Village) if you get out early enough, otherwise it can be too busy to enjoy. There are a LOT of good parking garages/business parks with room to skate and decent surfaces (no tar snakes!). Look around where you live on google maps and you'll find places to check out.

    • @JoeyMantiaOfficial
      @JoeyMantiaOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sugar house is that most difficult place if you're looking for a really hard workout in my opinion. can be dangerous when its crowded because people are generally pretty oblivious drivers. JRP as Jeremy mentioned is a decent trail for fitness skating, its hard to really go fast on it though. Theres a school (i dont know the name of it) in saratoga springs that has an asphault 400m, but its a pretty good drive to get there. Salt lake isnt the most skater friendly place, liberty is probably your best bet thought when it's less crowded

      Joey Mantia I’d have thought being of little ankle support and a really long wheelbase , it’d be very hard . And i assume you mean , the grippier the wheel the more difficult . Thanks though for replying 👍👍👍

    Amazing skating, long time fan but new to the channel. I don't know if you've made a video about it but what are your thoughts on 3x125 vs 4x110/100? I jumped from 5 wheels to 4x110 but always curious to try new stuff.
    I know you went to ice and track and indoor is no place for 125mm but if anything theres a video idea, your thoughts on wheels sizes and their pros cons.
    Keep it up

    • @JoeyMantiaOfficial
      @JoeyMantiaOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was on 3x125 for a while and prefer 4x110, they're easier and more enjoyable to skate on, the only issue is they're slower than 125mm, specifically in marathons/road situations but also sometimes on certain tracks

    You might not be the right guy to ask this question, but you're one of the few people on youtube actively making inline skate videos. I understand maintaining your wheels and bearings are crucial to keeping your skates riding smoothly. I've only tried cleaning my bearings twice at this point, but both times I've ended up causing a "problem". When I get my skates back together, inevitably one or three wheels don't spin perfectly. All the other wheels are fine. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong exactly. I take those wheels off again, take the bearings out again and put them back in and cross my fingers that I got it right. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong in the first place to cause this problem. Do you have any tips or can you perhaps point me in the direction of another video that can help?
    The only thing that I can think of that might be causing this problem is that perhaps I'm inserting my bearings into the wheels ever so slightly cockeyed, and this is the culprit. I try like hell to keep them flat and straight when I press them in, but they're circular and naturally want to dip. Maybe there's a better way to press them in besides using my thumbs, I don't know. Any help here?

    It looks like you align your body in the following sequence: support leg upon landing, toes, knee, shoulder to toes, knee, nose.
    Am I seeing that correctly?

    • @JoeyMantiaOfficial

      I'm not sure I follow exactly. The rule of thumb is straight lines are fast. Also, it's very hard to skate well holding a camera 😅 so don't dissect these videos too much, I'll try to get some footage where I'm not holding one for the next few skate tips
