As a “professional “ small remodeling contractor I use THE Vancouver Drywaller to get tips on my drywall game. In fact I learned how to do the California patch which I have mastered and that’s really really important in my work.
We bought a 3 flat building in which the largest unit was illegally partitioned into two separate units which shared the same utility bills and had 2 kitchens. After removing the additional kitchen, we called that room beirut because it looked like the deveatation after that big explosion went off. Your videos gave me the confidence to tackle the wall repairs in "Beirut" and it turned out great. My 4 year old loves her new room.
Trick tip.. scrape small stuff like that with the sharp side of your knife as you're scraping out the 3 ways. Gets you most of the way there to having nice sharp angles and beads.. always sand with the direction of application.
Clean them outside with a garden hose. Find either a area of grass you don't care about or gravel. Buy a garden hose nozzle so you can control when you spray the water and also adds pressure to get the tools cleaner. It's pretty much never a good idea to clean them in a bathtub/shower/ or sink. If you don't have a garden hose, fill up a 5 gallon bucket inside, get a large sponge you'd find at home depot or some large brush. Clean with the bucket of water and dump it outside. Don't wash mud into your plumbing and don't dump it down storm drains (illegal).
What happened to nice crisp clean corners to stop and start 2 different colors. Looks like you need another coat on that outside 90. Just saying, after 30 years...
Properly nailed corner bead, check with a drywall knife against each wall. if the bead is out furthest and tapers into the wall on each side its good so that space can get filled with mud and its all tight to the bead. Metal should still be visible on on the bead itself when finished
I just sand in little circle's. Then when it looks stupid when I'm done I just say hey it's not my house with a stupid grin to try and make people think I don't care. But the grin really just makes me look stupid and I do care I'm actually defeated on the inside and I feel worthless
haha I remember I started doing that trick about a year ago. I thought for sure a professional drywaller would probably call me dumb but I guess not lol
Stage 5: Acceptance
😂😂

Thanks! I would love to see Fermacell joints next! Fermacell might be the German brand name. I mean plaster fiberboard.

Never really given it much thought about an edges being pointy or smooth… definitely going to be something I’ll keep out for in the future
Good job!! - thanks for your tips.
Something I never thought of. Great tip. Thanks Ben 😉
When cleaning up mud tools, what precations are needed to avoid plumbing problems?
Clean them outside with a garden hose.

You are the man 💪 Vancouver drywall is my go to for tips and tricks! ❤️
Thanks for the tip. ❤️️
Can't you do a bit of both? Parallel to the corner to establish how much radius, then perpendicular to round it off?
The Vancouver drywaller!!! 🥳 Keep up the good work!
what is the outside, 3 face corner called? And is there a video on that?
You rock! Thanks! 🤟
I love your channel and I only get my drywall advice from you, but your hands must be super dry. What do you recommend? O'Keefe's?
The final look is nice. I’ll try jt now
The Vancouver DRYWALLER!
Awesome thanks!!
Yep, I do the same motion with a file for metal work. 👍
Looks really nice man good job!
180 grit handpaper 👏🏼
That one came naturally as I was working My corners
Love you man 👍
I love you using my hand fingers and thumb as a sanding pad but it only works for real laborers whose hands are naturally 200 grit sandpaper
That’s the real secret “something that looks good after paint “ wish all Drywallers thought like that
What happened to nice crisp clean corners to stop and start 2 different colors. Looks like you need another coat on that outside 90.
Just saying, after 30 years...
You must be very busy!!!! Finishing dry wallers are badly needed. I know Kelowna is looking!
Appreciate the tip 😄 Mr. Vancouver Drywaller 😂
What great sandpaper is that?
Thank you
You can create the flat surface, then round it off. It would be faster.
What if you're going for a sharp edge and it's slightly rounded?
Properly nailed corner bead, check with a drywall knife against each wall. if the bead is out furthest and tapers into the wall on each side its good so that space can get filled with mud and its all tight to the bead. Metal should still be visible on on the bead itself when finished
Mmmmm 🤨 Cornerbean ? Or Bonuz 😁
Good advice
On the botton bonus other side cornerbean 👌
OMG, you finally succumbed to your new name ❤❤❤
I use a wet cloth hold it with both hands back and forth on each end
Break the edge! Yes
Do the same thing when I refinish a panel on a car,you cant leave them sharp!
He’s come out!
I just sand in little circle's. Then when it looks stupid when I'm done I just say hey it's not my house with a stupid grin to try and make people think I don't care. But the grin really just makes me look stupid and I do care I'm actually defeated on the inside and I feel worthless
SICK !!!
THE BEST
Holy shit he said it! Full fledged drywaller meow!
Learned that one by accident 👍
How much are you per hour.
He quotes jobs as a lump sum so it depends how fast he works.
He's probably going to be unavailable for a few lifetimes
But... i need a ramp built... TODAY!
so instead of sanding it you just sand it? 😭
Crucial
So what you want to do is, take your sanding block, and sand it down.
Holly Molly .
Landlord here. I just put more paint on
I hate them landlords, they always call the cops on me
@@smokeydiamond489 stop the loud fighting and dishes throwing you and your wife have and maybe won't have to call the cops
My boss fired me for taking to long
So basically an octagon!
Why not leave it sharp and clean
Not only a drywaller but a mask wearer too!?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m just gonna say it 🤣
500 upvotes and I will give him an American passport. Primarily because I want him doing all my drywall.
I still think it needs some more wax...
Do a kickflip!
😂
Hack ....there are tapers and there are sanders guess witch one u are
haha I remember I started doing that trick about a year ago. I thought for sure a professional drywaller would probably call me dumb but I guess not lol
