  • Is this wheelbase the king of the midrange market? Or is it the doorman of the high end market, with mid-range prices, the Simagic Alpha Mini wheelbase review. A 10nm wheel who feels like it secretly has more to give. An amazing wheelbase for simracing! Let me know what you think!

    I'm a Simagic fanboy. I jumped from a Logitech G923 to a Simagic Alpha 15nm along with the P2000 pedals with the haptic motors. Best upgrade ever

    I'm glad I listened. The 10NM is a beast, I was about to go for the middle one, but I'm glad I didn't.

    Simagic is awesome. The FFB is so clear and the best in the industry I have tried all the bases over the years from simucube to Leo bodner to Fanatec

    Love it! Also tbh the software has gotten so good and its do simplistic i cant imagine wanting more. I hated fansteks software and aseteks is to bloated. It was a big selling point for me with simagic. I like simple and effective stuff. Like the game reccomendations for settings, the profiles and more.
    All of these wheelbases are amazing.
    I do eant peoppe to know each motor they go up to the weight comes in more. Like my umtimate the shaft is smooth and very fluid but it def has more weight even when off while turning. But out of every 20nm wheelbase ive used this one is the most fluid in motion meaning its still got that floaty simagic feel that no other wheelbase has that ive tried. As you said it makes it feel like its only forces its not like a spring or filter even the snap is from the forces not a true spring effect like fanatec.
    I love the feel nothing for my preference matches the feeling of ubloading and loading of corners and the edge of grip these bases relay. Which imo is the most important effect of a wheelbase. I love how you can find it instead of just going by overly heavy center forces.

    I can not thank you enough! I've had my Alpha 3-4 months now and could never for the life of me get it dialed in for iRacing, your settings work great for me and I've spent the last 4 hours going thru some my cars and getting the ffb set and smiling ear to ear, some of these cars I have never felt comfortable in, that's changing. These settings along with a reddit post explaining Torque/Strength have been siMagic 😉

    Good review, I've had the Mini & Gt Neo for about 3 months. Its amazing. I cant imagine what the 15 & Ultimate feels like but the Mini is more than enough. Plan on getting the P1000 & GTS wheel for Rallying. Only thing is its a very expensive echo system especially coming from Thrustmester products. I'll have to save lol

    I notice you have the Version 1 (v1) mini wheelbase with the 252w motor but I understand current version 3 uses a 237w motor to overcome earlier identified overheating issues. Those early v1 bases were putting out up to 13nm of power so I guess they are down to 10nm now. I kind of wish newer reviews like this reflected current model but I get it .. this is a long term review. Good job.

    Hey, I've been looking at getting this as my first DD base.
    I currently use a Thrustmaster T248, a slightly better version of the infamous g920.
    How big of a difference is this? Will I be shocked with it? And most importantly, will I have the urge to upgrade after a bit?

    Great review of a super product. I've started the transition from Fanatec, went for the Alpha & GT Neo from CS DD 8Nm + McLaren GT3 v2.
    Both cost more of course but the quality shines through; Simagic are doing great things right now.
    To comfirm what you touched upon all their wheelbases have more maximum torque than advertised which means for most the Mini would be plenty enough.

    Thanks for the review. Just purchased this base with the GT Neo wheel. Selling my CSL DD and Formula V2.5 wheel. I would've liked to see your FF settings in iRacing for reference. Max Force, Wheel Force, Intensity, Smooth, Damping, & Min Force.

    • @JACKZERYT
      @JACKZERYT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      All of those are Zero and intensity is just hoe strong the auto goes, put it at 50% and start from there, Do not use ingame smoothing damping or min force, in my opinion as these add BS that masks the little details. A bit of damping in SimPro if needed
      Max force will change from car to car, make sure you click on it in the black box and work off Nm as.opposed to "force"
      Like super formula is 42nm gt3 is 28nm Mazda is 20mm
      Hit the auto button the don't be afraid to adjust a lil up or down to suit you, then remember the number or write it down.

    • @JACKZERYT
      @JACKZERYT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The 15nm you've no idea how much regret I have because I cheaped out on like 130euro.....
      Real talk, I came from a CSL elite which was 6.8nm to 10nm DD, it was a huge difference, but now I'm stronger and although 10nm is enough, it's the details a strong wheel can provide to me without Clipping.
      So yeah buy once cry once sorta thing. I've recently done this and not taken half measures when purchasing and I've been pretty happy.
      I know there different in price but a thought experiment for you..
      Heads you get a 10nm, tails you get a 15nm, flip a coin (actually do it trust me.) And are you happy with the result. Yes good. If not, why. That should answer it for you.

      @@JACKZERYT Thank you for the thorough response. And I like the 'ol flip a coin and you'll know exactly which option you were hoping for. The question was really based around wanting to get back into the sim racing hobby but not wanting to go super deep down the rabbit hole. I've narrowed it down to getting a simagic setup with base/wheel/pedals I just wasnt sure which base to get and I think the 15 is going to be the perfect middle ground for me performance and cost wise.

      @@JACKZERYT Hello, i hear that a lot
      The mini is strong enough but some say that they would like a little bit torque.
      The alpha is definetelly enough.
      I will buy simagic after my rig is ready in 2 weeks.
      The U is only available and the alpha will be available in 1,5 month
      I can buy the U,i think its wasted power you will never need.
      Would you wait to get the alpha and keep 250 or would would jump and get the U?
      I dont know but it might be nice to have the "Ultimate" and have "infinite" torque

    • @JACKZERYT
      @JACKZERYT  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @tkdmp5698 the U, I'd like to use 12-14nm and have more headroom than 1nm , this is absoloutley the expression, buy once cry once. My next purchase I don't want to ever have to worry about Clipping. So max headroom makes sense, and learning to use more (Not excessive) amounts of torque is a cool way to get an arm workout in while having fun

    I really do love my mini....but im on the strong side...so im not saying its not enough powerfull but if it wasnt from availability and have to start again...i'll would get the alpha just to have some headroom. Alpha ultimate is overkill for vast majority of simracer.
