2:43 Man, you have to wonder how someone got the time to make all these intricate steps for an easter egg. Even Futurama's gigantic egg wasn't this complex.

Edit: but no, COD zombies is infamous for stupidly complex easter eggs but BO4 went way too far to the point of it not even being remotely possible without data mining
People who waste time and money on these easter eggs should be outed and fired for being unproductive
I feel like Attacking Zegeta is the most complex imo but yeah i agree lol
Keeping track of arbitrary inputs and/or events is just about the easiest thing you could program in a game. Completely trivial for AAA devs to pull off unless they're making special assets specifically for the egg.

It's actually pretty interesting to see Attacking Zegetta being "solved," although the dev saying that it involved a lot of beer kinda makes sense.

Beer is pretty shit and you'd need to drink heaps just to get pissed, drinking double strength pre mixes usually 2 or more standard drinks in one csn is the best way to go but you can also buy 700 Mil 40%+ alcohol where you can make your own mixes up to 6 standard drinks in a single mix. Almost a whole bottle of wine.

If anyone wants to help figure out this Gex 3 easter egg, the full video of me trying to figure out what I did to trigger the block to appear is currently on my YT channel, still to this day the Gex community and myself hasn't been able to figure out what it is that triggers the event, but there are key details I list in my video that helped me narrow things down if anyone wants to take a crack at it!

@@0Bennyman datamining won't always help with this stuff. Datamining can be useful to find unused models and stuff like that, but I don't think it would really be all that useful for this.

When I created the Attacking Zegeta Discord server a couple years ago, I didn't think we would have gotten this far! Quite a lot happened with the dev himself and other stuff, but in the end we solved the whole thing. It would've been cool to be somewhat credited in the video but at least the AZ case is finally officially closed!
I remember there being a website with an area that required a password. If I remember correctly it said that you got the password when you beat the game. Has the password been discovered yet?
Well thank you from me at least! If it wasn’t for that Discord I would have never found the original AZ2 game to rebuild with all the levels.
@@anonymoususer6294 there was no sign of the password anywhere in the game as far as I remember, but the dev said it would've been some sort of teaser/ad for his next game

About the skull texture in Nascar, my guess would be it was meant to be a bonus character that didn't make it. Madden 2003 had an "Egypt" team if you had another EA Sports game in your save file so I think it might have been a secret save file character that fell through.
That reminds me of the Goblin team you could get lol, those older Madden games were fun
I was the one who rebuilt Attacking Zegeta 2 using the PS4 build and activated stuff the community asked for. That was a fun and strange little project haha. Funny enough I heard about it from your video in the first place.

I'm guessing you were originally gonna be able to get into the room when the doctor's not in it so you could hide behind the curtain on the right to pop out & punch him. Maybe he's a time traveler & that's why he has a gun but it's also why he's so stressed. It probably would've been a recurring problem that he gets in the way of stuff you wanna do but you can't do anything about it because he shoots you if you try to approach.
This list feels like a return to form, love these discoveries that have taken decades to find.

2:34 A common issue with some of these older console games is that the resolution was much blurrier on older tv screens so even if people found something in the files back then, finding it in game would have been much harder.
Anyone know anything about "Pasta Mode" in WWF Warzone? A developer in a gaming magazine said there would be big problems if anyone ever figured out what it did. I remember reading about this years ago.

I totally remember reading about this years ago and check every now and then and this is the first time I’ve ever been able to find someone who even remembers this.
According to Game FAQs Pasta mode allowed long hair to be used in character creation mode. Perhaps the idea that someone would be in trouble was a mistake in reporting or the person giving the information got confused.

In COD 2 there are actually a few bathrooms you can enter during the campaign which have had their toilets removed; I'm not sure if there's a historical explanation for that but I wonder if this ties into a similar Easter Egg there.

I might be overthinking this, but it feels like Zegeta was literally made for the public to “play” by eventually breaking into it like this. The game wasn’t meant to be a regular videogame experience, but instead a mystery experience. And it’s interesting to think videogames are coming this far, if I’m right.

I cannot believe that Skate is still revealing secrets all these years on. That series really gave the users a lot of control/freedom compared to most skate games, so it's not surprising things were so well hidden
I have no idea how people manage to find these extremely cryptic, deep cut Easter eggs, I'm certain I wouldn't be able to find even if I played the game for decades on end
12:34 - Interesting to consider (even though probably it's a stretch) - 2001 happened to be the year that Dale Earnhardt died from a basilar skull fracture in a crash that happened in the last lap of the Daytona 500. 2001 could be seen as 21 since 0 is/has a null value numerically. Either a coincidence or intentional, definitely grim.

Also I have two video ideas if you happen to read this. A top list on creepiest anti piracy screens or just general best anti piracy screens ranking by whatever criteria you wish. And a compilation of the best discoveries already covered in a year around new years. Similar to how mr.nightmare has been doing it with compiling the scariest stories of the year in one video kinda thing.

Man, that Black Ops 4 easter egg is so ridiculously hard to pull it's amazing
So, 3 games I played made it to this list... nice! First, the Gran Turismo 4 snow creature probably got overlooked by so many of us because back when it was released it wouldn't have shown up on our pathetic monitors, plus the speed we were probably flying by wasn't helping either. For the game Escape From Monkey Island, I could see the alternate script being a way for the developers to let off steam, and it also sounds like Guybrush was perusing Herman's stash, not making it with Herman. Finally, Gex 3, it's been forever since I played it, but it's nice that people are still finding secrets in it.
I think the snow creature is really well hidden, GT4 could even be played in 1080i at the time

The Webkinz “secret” seems more likely to be pulling terms from either the banned-phrase dictionary or a list of banned users.
Any MMO game with client-side content moderation is going to have similar databases of inappropriate words and phrases.

Man I love your content, I know a lot of people say this but I truly do mean it. You actually look for obscure things in games that're either very popular or are very niche and don't repeat the same ones over and over just to make the vid longer. Plus the community is very active in wanting to uncover things on here and it truly shows just how dedicated some of them are. Hope next year is just as good as this and I can't wait to see more odd (no pun intended) discoveries in the future! Considering how tame the language is compared to the other games in the series, it's incredible to think that Escape from Monkey Island had hidden dialogue that's more suited to a Leisure Suit Larry game.
