30 years ago, i would've never imagined Nikki Sixx interviewing James Hetfield. I'm sure neither of them would've imagined that either.

They apparently got along fairly well behind the scenes. There was an episode of Headbanger’s Ball that was hosted by Nikki and Vince, and they were both saying how much they enjoyed getting the chance to hang with Metallica while touring with the Monsters of Rock back in 1991.

Its Interesting that despite all the media and the "stuff" that gets said about genres and styles in rock, metal and thrash and how Motley and Metallica were polar opposites as far as popularity, fans, music and styles in 1981/82' BUT in a weird way after all the smoke has cleared now in 2017 these two individuals have one thing that media and fans fail to express time and time agian and that is RESPECT for each other as people, music, longevity and really grateful for being here in the now and that is reflected in this interview and that is very refreshing to hear.Even in how instrumental it was that the production of Dr.Feelgood was the catalyst for what Metallica was looking for production wise on the Black Album and in bringing in Bob Rock .Respect all around! ! Thank you Nikki

My friends and I would drive around and listen to Ratt then Anthrax then Dokken then Slayer then Tesla and so on . Shout at the Devil was definitely their best and heaviest album... But there is a song or 2 off every album that I like... I do have to say I think Motley's 94 album with Corabi was their best song writing album... Nikki wrote 3 kinda songs... songs about sex, drugs and the sunset strip... Motley 94 was a completely different animal... I know a lot of people overlook that album cause it doesn't sound like what you'd expect a Motley album to sound like and it shouldn't of been called Motley Crue but 25 years later that album still holds up the songs were good Corabi is a good singer... Check out the Dead Daisies last few albums...

Metallica is my favorite, but when Crue comes on the radio I still turn that shit up. Crue has a shit load of good hits too, but like everyone else says, it's nice to hear these 2 talking & getting along after their turmoil in the 80s over their dress style, but I also say hey they both have been to the top of the charts, they both have had shit loads of fame & fortune, they both grew up & put that shit in the past. But for those who wanna talk shit cause they used to be enemies, you'll one day grow up & understand too. You can't really hate anyone forever, Metallica put heavy metal/thrash metal above Crue in my opinion Crue probably bowed down to Metallica cause at first Crue had them. But knowing how hardcore Metallica was/is they said back up motherfuckers this is my stage & I'll show you how to rock the Fuck out!!!

as a fan, i think probably what fans are thinking when they ask for a photo and then leave, is they/we think that is being the least invasive. kind of getting in and getting out and not bothering you as much as possible. BUT, i am glad to hear the way you guys feel. Honestly, i would much rather talk to either of you person to person instead of fan to rock god. That would mean much more to me than a photo. the only band i have taken a selfie with is The Sword and i have talked with each of the guys at various shows....So, basically I was speculating in my first sentence.

Never say never, I was (and still am) a big fan of Mark Dacascos and I've been his fan since I was 16 and when I was 33 I actually met him at a Comic Con in Germany. I got to talk with him a little bit and when I told him I've been his fan since I was 16 he actually got up from the table he was sitting at and hugged me. I must say that was one of the highlights of my life. So you never know, you might meet James someday if you find yourself in the right spot at the right time.

Thank you for your commitment to music., omg! 🤣 the aging process!! 😂😂🤗 agreed, I would rather spending time being human and talk. It’s more personal. Why I enjoyed selling drum gear. Matt Rock - Exactly, dude. It is a radio show. I get SO frustrated when see comments of people (kids, of course) essentially demanding video for every freaking radio show, radio clip, podcast..etc. It drives me crazy. They should consider themselves fortunate that they have instant access to such a great radio show with such an amazing interview.
..Frig, I'm only 35. But when I was younger, I would have freaking killed for a radio show like Sixx Sense. I remember when radio was all we had. I used to sit with my FM radio on, with a cassette tape queued, at the ready to record new songs off of the radio. Now, kids just have to push a couple of buttons on the computer...or even phone (which is essentially a handheld computer) and instantly, they have access to any song that was ever recorded. The kids born after 95 or 96 don't know any different. They were born into the era of 'home internet" hehe. I remember going to my mom's office at a Canadian university in the early 90's because she had access to the internet at work. This was before Internet Explorer or Netscape Web Browsers even existed. We used programs like Gopher, IRC, Mosiac, FTP Servers and Newgroups to access TEXT and a few pictures. haha. I feel old..but that was only 20 years ago.
...by 94 or 95, ISP's started popping up and we could now access the internet at home with 14.4 modems. These kids couldn't deal with downloading at a max speed of 1.4 KBPS haaahha 1.4 MBPS would driver them crazy. I remember getting my first 28.8 modem and thinking that I had scored it big.
...sorry about the rant. But it was really fun to reminisce and recall my first days on the internet. Besides, I know how to properly type, so typing this whole thing might have taken me 1 or 2 minutes. Frig, I remember taking a typing class where we learned how to type on a typewriter in highschool. The next year, we took QBasic programming classes hahaha Kids today don't even have to learn how to write HTML if they want to make a webpage. Frig.
..so kids, stop complaining about the lack of video and actually slow down and listen to a RADIO SHOW. I dig radio. I miss normal radio.

Its good to see, and hear James speak with Nikki, and the video Nikki did with Scott Ian. They're getting older, and they're more mature, they've moved past the animosity, or hate, or anger, theres no room for that in their lives. Its all Rock n Roll,, were all influenced by the same stuff, and they express it differently, style wise. I think Nikki is bringing everyone together with his show, and its great to hear and see.

Metallica is a very smart band, even back in the old days they were always careful and didn't let anyone tell them what they were going to do! Even when they went commercial they were in charge which is unheard of. This was their band and they were doing everything the way they wanted, not any manager, label, or fan was going to tell them anything. Their music is phenomenal and timeless! All of this together contributes to them being money 💰 making machines. Which makes them able to enhance all of these things. They should be the example of what a truly successful band is. The truest talent for metal I have ever seen, and believe me I've got a lot of favorites but there's something they have that no one else does, I know this may sound silly but it's kind of magical! Their songs can move you and take you somewhere else and that's why they are the biggest metal band in the world 🌎!!

I honestly used to have Nikki, cause he seemed to hang on to his egotistic attitude, but now I think he's awesome, & changed for the better. Maybe his near death experience from heroin changed him. But Cruefest 09 they had Godsmack on tour, & Godsmack said that was the worst tour they've ever been on, the egos were high as fuck, & that's why they wrote Crying like a bitch, Nikki knows it's about him, but Sully also made it clear although he rightfully didn't see any names, but that he's glad that person is like that, cause the song is really badass & I love that song. But I think Nikki is cool as fuck now, & this interview just made my respect for Nikki skyrocket! It's also really cool that they didn't talk about they rivalry in the 80s, that in it self just tells you, that's water under the bridge, & it may never be spoken about again from themselves personally, but of course you know the social media haters are gonna talk shit.

Metallica were definitely firing on all cylinders in Denver in 2017! I’ve been to a lot of shows, I’ve seen most of my favorite bands, I’ve seen some of the loudest bands ever, and I’ll say this: Metallica in Denver on the Worldwired 2017 tour was BY FAR the loudest show I’ve ever been to. What I love about this interview is the camaraderie between Nikki and James; especially knowing how much Metallica and Mötley hated each other back in the day. Time heals all. I’m a little biased though; Mötley Crüe and Metallica are two of my top five favorite bands of all time. I would have killed to see that Moscow show back in ‘91. Metallica, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, and f*cking Pantera. Still gives me chills!!!

I was a teen in the 80's, and my band for a while was Aerosmith - then they put out Dude looks like a lady lol. But I was getting into metal, and I remember the rift - you either liked Thrash, or Hair bands, not both. I was into Metallica, Slayer, Maiden... But Crew (and Ratt) were one of the bands that I remember you could like and not get ostracized over it. It's kind of petty thinking about it now... I remember GnR coming out with Appetite for Destruction - and when I finally broke down and listened to it, I loved it, but I would hide the tape in my car so my friends wouldn't see it lol... After MetallicA became popular they ended up taking a lot of Motley Crue fans with them . So I believe that's where the initial beef started between the two bands. Also Motley was pissed that MetallicA took Bob Rock with them as well later on in MetallicA's career. I'm glad to see now that they all have put that to pass and have grown as the artist we respect them for....Classic Interview !
