Welcome to the Jungle, the opening riff defines the 80's for me. I remember hearing it thinking, ok here come the 80's. Sink, swim or party! And party I did. Awesome time to be alive! Slash's use of his neck pickup single handedly changed my sound over the past 30 years. And many of you agree, it's a great sound!
Holy smokes; I can't believe how much Nikki Sixx looks like Dane Cook!! This is such an awesome video :) Thank you so much for sharing this!! A true monumental hangout!!
Super, uber cool. Love both of these gentlemen. I grew up on their music in the late eighties, early nineties. Great memories. I still listen to their music regularly ... I listened to my cassette tape of Appetite prolly 500 times as a kid... And Crue's Feelgood so many times. I also love the fact that Nikki is proud to be in recovery... I am as well. And yes of course I saw the dirt like everybody else and I loved it.
Liz xxd they had a feud back in the 90s (I don’t think they ever fought, they were just media bitching on each other), but honestly if they were to meet now, they would probably try eating each other
I get where they are coming from when they talk about feeling the best playing in the group setting. I played in the same band for almost 30 years before my drummer moved out of state. We obviously aren't Motley Crue or Guns N Roses, but what I miss the most were getting together with the boys and jamming out on Sunday mornings at practice. Not so much the shows - even though they were great, it was just the creative energy around those practices that I enjoyed the most - getting everything ready to go into the studio and record. While I still play my guitar all the time, and it's a part of me, I still have the "form a band, take over the world" mentality.
Slash reminded me of the Gary Moore< Cheap Trick (live@ Budakon) ,Kiss Alive II at the Pontiac Silverdome July 11th or 12th somewhere close to one of those days and between Cheap Trick & KIss the PAs started jamming Whole Lotta Love and it was surreal EVERYONE, started freaking Loudly and stood up for like a huge moment ...Not even Joking for a 16yr. old i thought Led Zep was there by the reaction....(im 55 now and never forgot how that made me feel!!!!) Love all you do Nikki&Slash!!
James Hetfield of Metallica, who was profoundly influenced by Tony Iommi, defines him "The king of the heavy riff". Rob Halford, vocalist for Judas Priest, when filling in for Ozzy Osbourne during an August 2004 concert in Philadelphia, introduced Tony Iommi to the audience as "The man who invented the heavy metal riff".
I feel 14 again. ....and Slash just correlated feeling a turn of musical phrase to high speed auto racing. That's a great analogy because I can appreciate it from having spent time playing Forza NASCAR. I get what he means by that accomplishment felt from picking a line through the curve to building a chord progression which becomes sublime. I'm truly encouraged.
I just watched the Christone Kingfish Ingram episode then this; quite literally my oldest & newest inspirations. I realize we share the same spirit, riff has always moved me the most & it all comes from the same place. Watching also made me realize I still have that spark, thank you!

Slash may be the coolest person ever. Lol... I bet he's thinking to himself (remember when you would steal my riffs) lol
Last one this year right???? Please don't stop recording these videos! Your definitely my favorite You-tuber as well as my favorite song writer/performer.
Steve Kolish nope. According to Nikki, this is the last ever.
that sucks love this show.
I love how any rocker can say “ozzy” instead of Black Sabbath or ozzy osbourne and you automatically know
….this is the ultimate evidence that sobriety completely brings out the dignity and humility in peeps who were once polluted by booze and drugs.....damn proud of Slash and Nikki for living clean and with honesty! I should know-I'm 26 yrs. sober and really living out loud-eliminating all the bullshit and connecting on a much deeper level with family and friends! Just listen to the good vibes between these two legends-INSPIRATIONAL!
My favorite riff, Nikki its been great.
Good to hear 'Back In The Saddle' getting some love. My Favourite Aerosmith riff.
Slash is really having a good time in this interview, Im a big fan of that guy !
If you love Slash and GNR go check out the ROCK N ROLLAS PODCAST now!!!
is not age a wonderful lesson ....absolutely riveted to listen .... the world is definitely a better place with them in it . bless them both
Holy smokes; I can't believe how much Nikki Sixx looks like Dane Cook!! This is such an awesome video :) Thank you so much for sharing this!! A true monumental hangout!!
Last episode?!! damn!
Hopefully he means last for the year.....Hopefully
No he's moving on to do different projects. He's taking an indefinite break from Sixx Sense.
The Network317 yeah Jake kiska from greta van fleet. I think he showed Nikki the correct way
I know right. I was hoping he'd get Jerry Cantrell on here.
False Ego Me too! I guess we have rewatch!
Slash was there when Nikki Sixx overdosed and died for 2 minutes
Gabriel Emin yup it was a party at his house and Nikki was there when he ODed
@Mike w You got this man the drugs are not a part of who you are.
@Mike w Good luck mate.
Man, I love the stories of how these songs come together or are made and created (i.e, "a Cheap Trick song played backwards").
Legends love them both and the bands they both been involved in.
I love how Slash is such a guitar superstar and yet so humble and down-to-earth! Geez I would act like a total douchebag if I was famous like Slash!
I remember slash saying in his book that Dave Mustaine and him used to write a lot of super sick dark riffs together after a toke of freebase or 3.
Reading Dave's book just know and he mentions the same thing in the forward as does Dave. He speaks highly of slash riff skills
Wont see vince and axl in the same room ever lol
Faizan Mckagan never ever happening
Do they hate eachother? Or something
Liz xxd they had a feud back in the 90s (I don’t think they ever fought, they were just media bitching on each other), but honestly if they were to meet now, they would probably try eating each other
They need a big room probably a hotel suite
flash 22 😂👍
SIMPLEMENTE ME ENCANTA VERLOS JUNTOS.
👍🏻🤘
Why no more episodes??
Every rock guitarist at one time or another wished they were Jimmy Page............hands down King of riffs.
Damn right. Master of all sorts of music. Insanely talented guy.
The Stones were the Kings of riff.
James Hetfield of Metallica, who was profoundly influenced by Tony Iommi, defines him "The king of the heavy riff". Rob Halford, vocalist for Judas Priest, when filling in for Ozzy Osbourne during an August 2004 concert in Philadelphia, introduced Tony Iommi to the audience as "The man who invented the heavy metal riff".
and stealing em
Tony Stakis Angus Young would like a word
great show and idea!! So many of us love this era...
I'm truly encouraged.
if u could talk motley and guns riffs for a few hours that would be sick thanks
PLEASE MAKE MORE!!!! or do a redo with phil
Aaaand now I'm wishing there was a weekly Rock N Roll podcast with Nikki and Slash.
Slash looks better now than earlier in his career.
So humble but yet so great..!!!
I just watched the Christone Kingfish Ingram episode then this; quite literally my oldest & newest inspirations. I realize we share the same spirit, riff has always moved me the most & it all comes from the same place. Watching also made me realize I still have that spark, thank you!
