    The commercial grade made more sense with this shot. The cinematic one still looked like a commercial. I would have chosen a differently lit scene. Still...good workflow and use of tools.

    I think it would be nice to see how you would colorgrade multiple shots in a timeline. Showing us how you would copy and paste nodes or adjust individual grades per shot, for example a musicvideo which might not always have the same lighting etc. Anyways, thanks for the great tutorial! Really helpful when switching from Premiere Pro.

    Nice outcome, but a few questions from a noob.... why not move your whole "look" parallel structure ahead of the REC709/FPE transform? And why not use Color Space Transforms? E.g. you manually are adjusting to essentially get to cineon before your FPE instead of just using a CST ahead of the FPE.

    If the goal is to desaturate the background and increase the saturation on the subject, wouldn't a power window be easier than targeting specific skin tones? For example, at 4:47, raising red's saturation visibly affects some background objects, too. Is this intentional?

    • @artlist_io
      @artlist_io  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Recovering over-exposed footage is hard! It can be salvageable depending on the camera, but getting it right in-camera is always the way to go

    Could it be a video explaining how to decide a node tree in diferent situations, like overexposed or underexposed footage, comercial look, film look. I just would like to see a video to see what criteria is used when creating a node tree. Thanks

    Why didn’t you also used the conversion to rec 709 and the film look fpe?

    • @artlist_io
      @artlist_io  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that the rec709+pfe doesn't work very well for me. It creates too much contrast

    Hey! I'm sorry I am totally new to this filmmaking world. How do I know the color luts of the video to make the correct balance? Sorry if it's s stupid question :( Thanks in advance.

    • @artlist_io
      @artlist_io  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, John!
      You should be using the LUT according to your camera brand and the color space/profile you shot on.
      If you shoot on S-LOG3 on the Sony A7III for example, you'd want to use an S-LOG3 to REC.709 LUT.
      Hope that helps :)
