    The question I have for all of you is which of these games you have played and liked best? Which did you not care for? Do you have go-to games you give as gifts? Did you play any of these along with me on the channel? What games should I have recommended but forgot to? -jesse

    Really nice comprehensive video. First time I have seen anyone summarize multiple game genres in one video.

      Thank you for the encouragement -- it really does make this whole enterprise more enjoyable when I hear that people get something out of the videos. Especially videos like this that take a bit of time to put together.

    So glad you mentioned NYC medical mysteries!! We loved that and feel it’s not talked about enough. If you have any interest in medicine and realistic medical scenarios , it’s a def recommendation.

      I tried playing it with someone who worked in an ER, figring it would be right up their alley.
      Turns out they didn't enjoy it because they said it felt too much like work.
      Go figure

      I can see where that would be useful, I'll try to write up a list and maybe I can keep it updated over time. I did add tons of timestamps, one for every category, so if you click on "more" in the description you can at least jump around to any category.

      @@COOPFORTWO Yeah, I LOVE SHCD! In fact, had all of the original boxes back in the 90's - was the first more modern board game that I stumbled across. My friends and I played through all of the cases - made evenings / days out of them. So much fun! Not sure we EVER solved a case correctly! Murders by Gaslight and The Mansion Murders - I remember weekends playing those - for literally hours and days and in the end all of us laughing at how truly horrive we were at being detectives! LOOOL!! I have the reprints and Baker Street Irregulars - need to play those asap with my son. We played a couple of the Mythos Tales mysteries, too. Am thinking of picking up Vienna Connection. Also, Box One was a REALLY GOOD experience! He and I finished that. I recently saw that Box Two is out. Curious to hear your thoughts on that!

      I've ordered the whole set during their latest kickstarter, so I will have a chance to try it myself soon. It looks like it might be aimed at an easier family player, but the art was too beautiful to pass up.

    Would you recommend other stuff in Root of all Evil's Crack-A-Nut line? I'm eyeing S.O.U.P. right now since it's half the price of the others (still $77!).
    For Decktective I'd mention that it's the exact same structure as Sherlock Files, but with one big mystery instead of 3 smaller ones (plus a 3D diorama).

    • @COOPFORTWO
      @COOPFORTWO  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for the reminder about Decktective -- I had forgotten about that.
      I want to get my hands on SOUP.. Whether its good or not I can't say. It looks like its meant to be more humorous, which doesn't always work for me (I prefer the darker games). But I'm still curious enough to want to try it.

      @dorpth 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@COOPFORTWO We're seriously considering taking the $135 plunge for Root of All Evil. How would you compare it to something like The Mysterious Package Company? Which we found too light on actual puzzles and relied about 90% on atmosphere.

    • @COOPFORTWO
      @COOPFORTWO  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dorpth I think there are 2 games on this list of 70 that I own but haven't yet played, and Root of All Evil is one of them, but I have heard enough recommendations from people I trust to pass along the recommendation. It is high on atmosphere and story, but with some stuff to solve. However, if you want to be really challenged, The Messenger may be the way to go. It is similarly high on atmosphere, but it is a very long and difficult challenge with very serious puzzles. One of the more serious. I wish I could have found my copy and showed it and I wish I had emphasized how serious a challenge it is. -jesse
