  • Bonus Episode! The world can't get enough of the Drake vs Kendrick Lamar feud so we went back to the basics to try to figure out why Kendrick is sooooo mad. We go back to the beginning from the friendly days of 2011 when Drake and Kendrick worked together to today when shots have quite literally been fired. From Rick Ross' pool party jams, J Cole's apology, Adonis Graham's lessons from Kendrick, Millie Bobby Brown's involvement, Ozempic accusations, and of course the BBL Drizzy phenomenon we really try to hit all the fun and not-so-fun elements of the beef.
Sorry for the cringey singing!! Follow us @risquebusinessnews @laurasogar @mae_planert and write us a kind review for a good old-fashioned in-the-mail gift! forms.gle/gRZ1...

you got a couple things wrong on kendrick side, He has the highest grossing world tour in Hip Hop History yes over Drake, He's actually just as if not more popular than Drake on Japan and he has always been more Respected in the hip hop community, Drake on the other hand is just more popular He's considered more of a Pop Star

Yea and also the stories about Drake has always been there, I guess his team has been good with damage control, a couple women came out in his defense and said it was harmless relationships, but this is simply grooming, because the rich, famous and powerful celebrity treated you nice and gave you attention and relevance you think nothing of the advances and how inappropriate it was in the moment even with a history of pattern but eventually women will speak out because he has a long history

He’s not saying he is not physically black he is basically saying Drake isn’t for the culture…it has nothing to do with his actual skin color. He’s alluding to the fact that drake doesn’t do anything for black culture. Saying he uses black culture as a costume and is out of touch when it comes to being black.

Drake is a nepo baby too, his uncle is famous musicians who worked with Prince, he's always had connections to the music and entertainment industry.
Control was about Kendrick calling out a bunch of rappers about the current state of hip-hop at the time, it was when mumble rappers and SoundCloud rappers were getting bigger, and Kendrick felt like the culture was losing itself and it's purpose, so he called out like 10 of the biggest rappers and said they all need to step up their game, because he will keep improving and will make sure their audiences forget who they are, at the start of his verse, Kendrick even explicitly states that he's not trying to start anything, that he likes each and everyone of the people he's going to mention
Every single rapper who was name dropped on that verse, came out in support of Kendrick, and even praised him, alongside industry veterans too like Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50, Snoop, etc. All except one, Drake, he was the only person that didn't show support and got all in his feelings about it.
Drake then went on Sports Centre, with Compton native Marcellus Wiley, and he lost his mind about Kendrick and started ranting about him, which Marcellus obviously relayed back to Kendrick which put an end to any mutual respect that was there. Drake was meant to host ESPN's award show that year, and threatened to pull out if the interview of him ranting about Kendrick was released, so it never saw the light of day.
Drake also wanted Kendrick on first person shooter, but he refused to collaborate with him, which makes it funny because Drake sneak dissed Kendrick on that song, once again, he got all in his feelings about literally nothing and decided to be petty.
The 20 vs 1 line is a reference to how many people have issues with drake, from ASAP Rocky, The Weeknd, Metro Boomin, Future, and some more I can't think about right now
Drake using 2Pac AI is one of the most disrespectful things he could have done to Kendrick. Kendrick literally saw 2Pac with his own eyes as a child recording a music video during the LA Riots after the Rodney King incident, and it changed his whole life, 2Pac became his idol, if you watch any interview with Kendrick the way he talks about 2Pac was as if he was sent by God, and that is what inspired his love for music, especially with the kind of stuff 2Pac rapped about and you can see that influence on Kendrick too as their music is very conscious of the social and political issues that are going on, so really that was when Drake overstepped the line.
Kendricks line of "I hate the way you talk, walk and dress" is a reference to DMX who famously had a rant about hating Drake on the Breakfast club with Charlemagne back in 2012, it's important because Kendrick did an interview after where he spoke about his team watching the DMX interview when they were on tour and he found it funny. Drake however once again, got all up in his feelings about it.
In Euphoria, Kendrick even mentions about how this is all just friendly as in Professional, he doesn't bring up anything new that hasn't been said about Drake by other rappers, even the stuff about not being a good father is stuff that's been alleged against him before but still Kendrick wanted it to remain as just a bit of an exhibition of talents between 2 artists, he even ends the track by saying not to take it any further. In 6:16 in LA he once again reiterates that it shouldn't go any further than taking shots at each other, and a show of musical talent.
The shooting at Drakes mansion is probably more related to The Weeknd, one of his team members was recently shot about a week or 2 ago, and they're both Canadian, and they've had beef since House of Balloons.
When it comes to listening to music from people that have done bad shit, it's up to the listener, and to some degree the severity of the crime, for me personally, there comes a point where the crime outweighs whatever artistic value was given

I feel like there were a lot of misunderstandings in this here are some more important ones I wanna clear up 1. Drake plastic surgery and ozempic is a problem in the first place because Drake himself has recently been calling a lot of women out for doing plastic surgery and being outright misogynistic and that's probably the reason for this and not just because it's "hip-hop" 2. the reason that the majority of hip-hop community has been calling drake white is that drake code switches between white and black when it advantages him it's very reductive to look at it as simply just the fact that he's biracial but it's more how he acts white and a lot of time his actions and words show how disconnected he is from the black culture 3. as someone else said in the comments followers on Instagram is not the metric for how popular someone is especially in music and ESPECIALLY in hip-hop 4. about the allegations of sexual assault on drake there are A LOT of footage on his weird and unacceptable behavior there is a great thread on twitter explaining all of them and also you should search for the case that Baka Not Nice was involved with which he is a part of OVO and drake himself was cheering his comeback from a literal trafficing case

Kendrick was trying to perform a cleansing of drake. Number one he has been making the same music for years. One note. Kendrick had no ghost writers, drake does. Drake in the black community of hip is consider questionable in his subject matter. Drake does not make music is associated with black people. ( j Cole mixed and non of these things are said about him)
