Why did you paint the greys first, then mask off the grey parts and paint the panels black? Wouldn't it have been a lot less work to paint the panels black, mask the panels off, which is a much simpler job than masking everything but the panels, then paint the greys?
Better control over any black outside of the panels this way. I mean, he could have just masked the panels off first after the black primer, then do the zenthial lighting technique, but the mecha black primer has a bit of a sheen to it, and those panels are dead flat. Could have I suppose cured that with the over all matt varnish at the end. I don't think either way is that much easier.
It depends on the color you are using. Not every range needs the same amount of thinner. The best option is to discover the ratio that works for you and your project.
my ratio is established by the situation, or the viscosity of the paint, for example, for the RED MECHA COLOR i will use 10 drops of paint and 2 drops of thinner, in almost every situation because the red is very tricky to paint, but à black paint will be more thinned ;)

I have absolutely no idea 😂😂, next time, I must think before paint, it will be more efficient!

Great job. i need to try this on my 1:72 scale millenium falcon. how long does clear coat need to dry before proceed with masking/washing?
I let cure one night at least to be sure 😉

Did you mask the gloss coat on windows before Matte varnish? I like how they’re glossy and rest is matte
I painted the window from the inside and masked on the bare plastic before painting the whole kit 😉
