Netflix better not portray Prost as a villain, and give Senna the angel with no wrongs treatment. Being unjustly portrayed like that already ruined the previous Senna documentary for me. Give the Rush treatment and this movie will be great
Prost was never the villain. Balestre and FIA were the villains, Senna just stood up to it. But the incident at Suzuka's chicane was a dodgy Prost move, so Senna paid back the following year.
Stoked for the series, just feels right for one to be made about Senna, and to see the people who built the replicas have so much passion for what they do is wonderful. Man oh man that Marlboro McLaren livery is one of their best, that and the Vodafone are two of my favorites.
The F1 cars in the 88-91 period were just beautiful. Animals, no doubt, to drive but stunning. This series brought back some memories of watching F1 in the 'good old days'.
Just binged it.. The most awesome series I've ever seen. It will win all available awards in every available category. Simply awesome from beginning to end.

I saw Senna race three times, twice at Phoenix in 1990 and 1991 where he won both races and unfortunately the third time was at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix which was probably the saddest weekend for Formula One since the 1960s. I won't detail everything about the race here but I did write an article for Jalopnik for the 20th anniversary back in 2014 ("I Was There When Senna Died", April 30, 2014) and my photographs have been featured in Ibrar Malek's excellent "1994" book and in Auto Tradition magazine (Summer 2019 for the 25th anniversary) if you want to check them out.
the brad pitt movie will suck lol i can already tell you the plot: old driver is getting old and probably falls out of f1, has comeback, it doesnt go super well, then it comes back mid season and he wins wdc
@@AB-gj8reIt made by the same director who made top gun Maverick. It's filmed at the F1 track during F1 weekends. Even if the plot is bad the quality will be phenomenal.
@Anonymous_0894 plot wise it's going to be very likely predictable..like even Top Gun was great visually speaking but strip that and the story is fairly basic after all. Still the camera part it's going to be great at catching the atmosphere as they don't need to entirely fake it when filming directly during a GP lol
The cars look spectacular and ues so impressed with actual replicas and not forgettable cgi - i hop e to spot my fave early 90s liveries - Minardis black yellow white, and footworks
Has to be really for Senna's final and race at San Remo which Schumacher went on to win driving for Benetton, Nicola Larini, driving for Ferrari, scored the first points of his career when he finished in second position. Mika Häkkinen finished third in a McLaren. This race is important on the timeline not only for the tragic loss of Senna but also Roland Ratzenberger the day before in qualifying. Sid Watkins told Senna after this to more or less give it up - "Let's go fishing" Sid was the Dr on the scene after the crash and said (more or less) "He let out a gasp, and whilst I am not a spiritual man, at that moment I swear I felt his spirit leave his body"
I was amazed that they didn't actually have it. The real footage is used at the end of the final credits of the final episode - but it wasn't replicated. Actually it skipped from 91 through to 94 quite quickly (no Mansell battle at Monaco) Still excellent however.
ngl I love what they've done w this and its making me excited for the series. Although, I do think that they should change the colour filter of the scenes, it looks like a stop motion movie ngl.
I hope this Netflix Original Mini-Series, Senna will not censored tobacco product placements by just simply replacing with generic barcode design logos, especially since these iconic Formula 1 race cars were sponsored by Tobacco brands like Rothmans or Marlboro for instance…🙏
Did the guy's in Argentina who made the cars get any plans or blueprints from Toleman, Lotus, McLaren, Ferrari or Williams or did they use scale models or just guess? As the cars were excellent in the series.
I'm just glad they made the McLaren's Red and White. It's incredibly disrespectful how McLaren resprayed the original McLaren's from the Red shade into the Papaya orange. Embrace the Papaya Orange but don't change the original car's, I was pissed when I saw that car in the Brazil GP when Hamilton drove it a few weeks ago.
@@cargo71 that doesn't change the fact that MP4/3,MP4/4,MP4/5 are all red and white. Not orange and white. It's just disrespectful to change the livery to fit the present and 60s branding.
Not sure how they can ever succeed in reproducing the gorgeous sound of a 13500-14000 rpm naturally aspirated V10/V12 of the 90' era without using the real thing - or at least something close, like these Judd V10s used for historic F1 racing. What we hear in this video is a joke, not even close to that. Netflix, I really hope you will not disappoint the real F1 fans with this fake engine sound.
Remembering that shit film "Driven" with Stallone. Where one minute you would see Indycars and the next some jr level car... At least here they have gone to the effort of making cars that look like the cars.
All this effort to make the show look amazing then skipped out loads of key moments in his life and then made up people and events instead that didn't happen. Some of the events were as interesting or more interesting than the made up ones. Why? I would consider this show a work of fiction with real names placed on top. Eg. Where is Martin and Sennas crash early on which really shows Sennas ruthlessness and need to win. Shame
Netflix better not portray Prost as a villain, and give Senna the angel with no wrongs treatment. Being unjustly portrayed like that already ruined the previous Senna documentary for me. Give the Rush treatment and this movie will be great
Yeah, I’m really hoping. As a Prost fan it frustrates me that’s he’s seen as the villain in Senna’s story so often.
most people enjoy it more when the story is incorrect, but there is a villain/hero story, i dont know why
Prost was never the villain. Balestre and FIA were the villains, Senna just stood up to it. But the incident at Suzuka's chicane was a dodgy Prost move, so Senna paid back the following year.
As it is directed by a Brazilian, it will be heavily biased towards Senna.

I'm glad they have all the liveries correct. Hopefully they have the sound correct (V-12 for Ferrari, V-10 for McLaren).

I did too. I'm now reeling from the fact that "Alain Prost" is English - he nailed Prost's voice and accent. (Not watched the "making of" yet.)
