    The most impressive thing about Senna history is that was not fiction, it was real. What a powerful energy, what a powerful life.

      Jean Marie Balestre was arrogant, selfish and racist. He should have been fired from the FIA for his abuse of power. He was never happy when Ayrton won his 3 world championship titles but he couldn't stop him from being classed as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time.

    Ayrton Senna is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic F1 drivers ever. In my opinion, what sets him apart from others is his fearlessness. His greatest strength was competing on hostile, rain-soaked tracks where most drivers wouldn't even consider putting in any effort. His resourcefulness allowed him to turn those circumstances to his advantage. He was a true icon who showed the world that you can take the worst situations and turn them in your favor if you have the courage. A true Brazilian!

    The 1989 championship was not decided on a crash. It was decided on politics. Senna continued racing after the crash on a remarkable recovery and victory after having to pit to change his broken wing which would guarantee his fight for the championship, but he was disqualified by Prost's compatriot and friend for "cutting" the chicane.
    Also, this video makes it seem like Senna crashed on Prost in 1990 as a payback for Prost crashing into him in 1989 which is not exactly true. It was payback to the incident in it's entirely, not just the crash. It had more to do with the fact that Formula 1 politics was happening again since Prost's friend who had disqualified Senna the year before, had denied Senna's request to switch the pole position to the clean side of the track which gave Prost the advantage.

      Remember, Honda were favouring Senna. It was confirmed that Honda were giving senna more powerful qualifying engines.
      Senna had 2 cars at his disposal throughout 1989 with 40 engineers working with him. Prost had one car and 2 engineers. And yet Prost won the championship on his own with literally no support from McLaren and Honda.
      He also beat senna on points in 88’. Due to an outdated scoring system, Prost was the only driver to have had the most points in a championship and yet still lose the championship.
      Remember what Prost did to senna at Williams.
      He adapted to a brand new team and a very advanced car, after having a year off, and he won 7 out of the first 10 races.
      Prost tested the 1994 Williams that senna would drive and said senna should win every race.
      Senna didn’t finish in the first 2 races and died in the third.
      Prost was the better driver.

    For most Brazilians, the victory in the 1991 GP Brazil, with the gearbox locked in sixth gear during the last 7 laps, and the victory in the 1993 GP Brazil, with Senna in the arms of the people at the end of the race, will always be remembered.

      I'm not Brazilian also happy for him, winning in home soil Its different you feeling and nervous too as you can answer the expectations from your country to winning the gp. But he still the goat for me, what happen the problem on his Race the home soil, he can answer it and do it 100% he can. So he deserve as the world champion and G.O.A.T

    3:44 They hid the fact that in 1989 Senna returned to the race, repaired the car, regained first position but was disqualified by F1 (We all know that Jean-Marie Balestre was supporting Alain Prost). The 1990 revenge was a shining moment repairing one of F1's greatest shames.

      yeap, they omitted that fantastic performance, a race win and a championship... with that in Monaco in 84, he should have 43 victories and 4 world championship.

    • @UnimatrixOne

      1997 Jerez, Schumacher had all his world championship points canceled - that's exactly what could have happened to Senna in Japan in 1990! But because of 1989 they probably let him get away with it!

    • @rudolfdaher
      @rudolfdaher 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      One more fact that proves what you said. When Senna came back on the track, he overtook Alessandro Nannini to regain the lead at the exact same chicane and in the exact same way he overtook Prost. But unlike the Frenchman, the Italian didn’t close the door in an unsportsmanlike manner. (Later Schumacher did the same. Twice. With Hill and Villeneuve.)

    • @harmkuijpers6642
      @harmkuijpers6642 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Senna was rightfully disqualified, but for the wrong reason. His car had stalled, so he received outside assistance to get going again. This was against the rules and had been cause for disqualification many times. In 1990, Piquet got a DQ in Monaco for that very reason. As did Reutemann in 1978 in Austria. Or Pironi at Watkins Glen 1979.
      The fact that the Japanese marshalls helped him, probably had something to do with his popularity in that country. Fact of the matter is, that even with preferential treatment from Honda, he still couldn't beat Prost in 89 and wouldn't have won the 88 title either, if all results had counted. Yes, Senna won more races, but also crashed out of the lead twice, while Prost's retirements were mechanical. Senna would have retired from the 1988 Brazilian GP, as he stalled at the start, but illegally changed his car before getting DQ'd.

      @@rudolfdaheryeah, nannini was lapping 5 seconds a lap slower then senna, unlike Prost who was actually lapping faster than senna.
      See the difference?
