Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya:
Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya, located in the Hambantota District of Southern Sri Lanka, is one of the most significant and historic Buddhist sites on the island. Established in the 3rd century BCE by King Kavantissa of Ruhuna, the temple holds immense religious and cultural importance.
The Viharaya is renowned for its large stupa, the Tissamaharama Dagoba, which stands as a testament to the ancient architectural prowess and spiritual devotion of the time.
