While China has no official national statistics on the number of missing children in the country, Baobeihuijia, the biggest non-governmental organisation dealing with such cases has received nearly 36,000 reports since 1978. It is feared that the actual number of missing children in China may be much higher.Many of the young people who go missing are believed to have been kidnapped and sold to childless couples. Officials from Baobeihuijia or “Baby Come Home” say three decades of a one-child policy in China, combined with a traditional preference for sons in Chinese families, are contributing factors.The South China Morning Post spoke with two parents who, while spending decades searching for their missing sons, have managed to help other families locate and be reunited with their abducted children.

I have just read the news that this lady has reunited with her missing son this week. I hope and pray that it is not fake news... May all the lost and missing children be brought back home soon. Fingers crossed! Please stop the heinous act of kidnapping :(

In case you were wondering, the lady who's son was kidnapped in 1988 has since been reunited with her son after a tip led authorities to a neighboring province where they found a 33 year old man who, at 2 years old had been sold to a family there. After taking a DNA test, he was confirmed to be the missing son and was reunited with his family.
Should they blame the family who bought him?

I have a very noticeable birthmark on my hand. My family always looks at the birthmark and says: " with this, it will be easy to track you down if you are ever lost or stolen." I've never thought about it twice. It is heartbreaking to know there are people who have to go through this. 30 years is more than half of most people's life...
There should be law to punish the family who buy those kidnapped children. You can't just sentence the human trafficker to prison but not punish the buyers. They are the reason there are still children being taken away from their parents.

So, the news\story told in another channel was totally wrong. They told that son was taken just in a sec as father was cooling hot water. He just turned around a sec and child was taken in a blink an eye. He was kidnapped in 1983. The reporter narrated the story so wrong and fake. Anyways, Now they finally found their son. They are now happy family together again. So happy for parents and the son. 🙏💖😚🙇♀️🙆

But I was also taught the important of helping your neighbors and strangers. Even in commercials they have PSAs that teach you what to do in case of a potential kidnapping.
