    I have this watch since 10 years and the battery is still good ! Radio piloted time, alti, baro, thermometer, this watch is precise (needs correction if weather change) and has it all, It's just the best

    Good review. This version looks much easier to read than the negative black dialed version. I tried one of those on the other day and had trouble reading it.

    In your critiques of the watch on your ablogtowatch review, you said the atomic signal is hard to get. It can be hard to get manually, during the day. But it is *designed* to automatically receive the signal at between midnight and 4 AM, when a signal in this frequency range propagates best. Just leave it on a windowsill in your house facing Colorado, and it'll sync automatically every night.
    Nevertheless, I can't WAIT to get my hands on one of these. They're now going for around $240 on Amazon.
    PRG270 goes for $130, but hasn't got atomic sync and is notably bigger, as you mention in your written review.

    Thanks for watching. Couple of mistakes to correct: 1) I think it has 3 sensors ABC (altimeter, barometer, and compas) not 6 and 2) in the Mode section, the fist screen shows sunrise and sunset, second screen shows data recording (like highest altitude). The receive screen is the one with R/C

    @Nathan, nope IMO. Could be OK for trail running but even there you can get an entry level Garmin, Polar, Suunto, or Timex that will give you distance with foot pod or for a bit more GPS and HR with many options if you are willing to pay a bit more. The most advance running watch with GPS and all the trimmings, e.g., Garmin 620, can be had for under $500. So for running, get a running watch, especially if you are a serious runner or want to be one. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for this video. I've only seen the negative display version. This one is quite nice looking.

    Correct, it is solar powered as I mentioned. The two features missing from previous Pathfinder/ProTrek are moon phase and tides. AFAIK the PRW3000 models do not include these two features.

    Nice review. What is the full model code - 3000, 1e, 1er..? From some angles solar ring on yours looks bluish, there are different photos on internet and codes, would like to buy the same. Thank you.

    I have this watch since it got out, from Japan and I cant change from metric to imperial, i have the reverse screen model all black but ill get one like yours too, looks cool

    • @Smaug1
      @Smaug1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      To change from metric to imperial, it is done in the ADJUST from the home screen. When you change from °C to °F, it will also change the units to imperial.

    I am planning to buy a CASIO SMART watch for Trekking function. Barometer, temperature sensor and solar function with GPS is desirable!!! all this functions are included in this PRG 3000 ?

    Oh ! CASIO PROTREK PRW3000 !

  • @kailee4625
    @kailee4625 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I'm going to make decision between Protrek, g-shock and suunto for trekking, any advice will be appreciated.

    • @taichifukuda6832
      @taichifukuda6832 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sunnto is for biking or some activities which air pressure changes quickly. So it has a consequence altitude changing recorder. Pro trek is for top alpinists.
      So it records altitudes at certain points .
      And it predicts a change of weather with the barometer. Pro trek really is designed for coming back alive from deadly mountains.
      G-shock Gulf master and Gravity master have exactly the same sensor as pro trek. So functionality is the same.
      But a little hard to look at.

    has anyone had any problems with the temperatures being incorrect?

    • @taichifukuda6832
      @taichifukuda6832 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The thermometer is useless,if you put the watch on your wrist. Because it's designed for climbing. So you have to wear a thick jacket for climbing and put the watch on the sleeve. That's how to use it.

    Never change batery? Mistake. You have to change batery one day, but much later.

    • @luc7976
      @luc7976 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's solar charged rechargeable battery so you don't and can't probably replace it. If it's low you need to solar charge it.

    • @MrNivarox
      @MrNivarox 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luc7976 yes you are right, but one day END. You will not able to charge, because charging Is not never-ending. But it takes long time maybe 10 years or longer.
