The temperature's in Celsius - you're surprised that it is " *only* 29 degrees" C (84 degrees F)? How hot do you normally keep your house in mid-April? On the wrist, these watches normally display about +5C over ambient due to body heat.
Hi thanks for the video. Question; If the hour and minute hand are covering the digital display, can you move the hands to use the stopwatch or to see the date? Apparently the hands can only be shifted if you are using the barometer or the temperature.
Great video, very informative! Really like the 5-ER but will probably go for the 3-ER. Agreed though, at this price should have Bluetooth and arguably sapphire crystal.
Sapphire glass is not desirable for a tool watch. Even it's scratch proof, the sapphire is more brittle than the mineral glass and not as resistent when knocked against rocks for example.
I like it…BUT it’s a strange choice not to include Bluetooth. My choice is not to purchase this watch. I want to purchase a ProTrek. I really like them, a lot. My weekday ‘work’ watch is a CasiOak GAB2100C-9a. I really want a weekend watch for when I hit the trails… this feature set really excites me… But, again, I want the Tough Solar, so I never have to compromise the case… And I want the Bluetooth functions to enable App integration. Style wise, Roman numerals give me the fizz, …that will come… I’m sure. Just please give me Bluetooth… and you can have my money… Simples. 😊
Bluetooth is a feature that will become obsolete in the future (at least as the bluetooth versions change over the years). While technically newer bluetooth versions should be backward compatible, I do not remember having an old bluetooth device working with my laptop or phone for example...>< However, bluetooth for quick configuration of the watch is indeed very convenient XD...
I swear this is the closest Casio has come to the Business ProTrek. Would I wear it on business or classy events? Nope. But can Casio use high quality part with the same frame and functions? Yes Would I then buy it if it costs 4 times as much? Yes
Don't buy. I have one, the screws loosen on its own. I have to tighten the screws every week, still I lost few screw on the bands and back cover. I bought from Japan and their customer service isn't helpful at all. I own 6 Protreks and never had this problem.
@@charliecowan9973 Yep I really like the looks. I don't do a lot on the water but a "rugged" watch needs to be at least 20 Bar in my opinion because it should be able to withstand the ocassional high pressure blast of water without question. At 10 bar i get a little nervous.
@@charliecowan9973The Casio GM-2100-1AJF is a far better deal. Looks really good. Amazon is selling for $165. Doesn't have the altimeter or some of the other features of this watch but it does have 20 Bar WR.
@@onewheee it doesn't look like the Octo Finissimo but the Octo Roma, the case shape is virtually identical. Bulgari must be happy as imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

yes, I think there was a mode to "clear out" the display for better visibility :)

Thanks for watching! :)
What is the diameter & strap size?
Thanks for the video.
Question - does the crown screw on?
As far as I remember, yes :)

oh, that's a good note, maybe that is one of the reasons actually :)
Price-wise things have changed dramatically since this review was recorded. It can be had for ~$350 if you shop around.
yeah, I think it is always the case with Casio and other brands. I usually state the official price. :)
As I was watching this I made a bid on eBay and won it for $167.00. 😃
I've always wanted a Casioak with ABC. This watch is perfect.
I think this one might be a handy toolwatch too, so quite nice choice ;)
Quite dissapointing this thing doesn't do figure 8 calibration. That would have been SHARP!
Nice review, thank you👍
Glad you liked it! :)
Detailed information 👍
Thank you 😊
I’d love this one, but with a metal band/strap…
I think it is possible to find some aftermarket for this one
Beautiful but very expensive
yeah, it is quite special watch :)
Why no sapphire dial window at that price? Shocking!
I think this glass is also marketed as "tough enough", hence the choice... :)
328 feet is a lot deeper than “splash proof”. I’d dive with it.
well, it is usually less than that number though :)
@@onewheee Not in the case of ProTreks. 😉 Either way, great review. I won this watch on eBay for $167.00 (USD) I get it Monday.😃
Looks like a Bell & Ross!
haha, actually there is some resemblance :D

I think they did it in order to keep models apart at least somehow :D
Bluetooth causes battery drain. The propose of these types of prw watches are for military safety use, last forever and do not provide a signal.

maybe official warranty would help in this case ;)
Woof, twice as expensive….
Only 10 bar water resistant at this price point is ridiculous. Pass.
Yeah I don't do really anything on the water but I can get a Rangeman or Mudman that does all of this for less. It looks amazing, I'll give it that.

I would say this watch is for different activities, but yeah, water protection is low :)
Wr is fine, you literally have garmin triathlon watches with 5 bar.
Not worth the price
I think it might be for some :)
Rip off of the Bulgari Octo. What's next? The Nautilus?
I don't know how much I should drink in order to see there Octo, but thanks for noting this :D
