What I really like about your style is that you present information in a very respectful, down to earth, nonjudgmental way. You have your own views on religion after leaving Watchtower, but you don't push your mindset on anyone or come off critical, realizing everyone is different and has the right to choose a path that helps them personally. Thank you for your great content!👏🙏

You're actually pretty lucky to wake up so early and have a normal, non-culty parent.
Please enjoy your youth and do all the normal teenager things many of us were denied. It's important for your development.
Make friends at school, do extracurriculars, dream about your desired career and don't be afraid to talk to counselors for help/advice!
This is your life in the long run and you don't owe anyone blind obedience or complete subjection, especially without your opinions and needs being considered.
Good luck with everything and I'm wishing you a fantastic 2024 🎉
Stay safe and knowledge is your strongest weapon.

You are definitely not alone. After leaving (I faded for the sake of my parents, otherwise I would have disassociated), I actually apologised to my DF’d cousin & his wife for participating in their toxic & manipulative shunning techniques. So I’m so sorry you have been treated so badly. It’s just a topic my parents & I don’t mention & I’m pretty sure the rest of my family thinks I’m either still in or just taking some time out to myself. They’re probably going to get a shock when they realise I’ve moved on completely to living my authentic “best life ever”. Wishing you all the best on living your authentic best life ever too.

I have personally never been a JW myself, but I have a lot of respect for ex-JW's. It takes a lot of courage and bravery to leave your religion and be willing to tolerate shunning from your family and friends.
I can kinda relate as well, since I was raised Fund. Christian and young earth creationist, although I'm still in the PIMO phase... So I get how difficult it can be to talk about this stuff and go through this questioning phase, especially in a high control group such as JWs. Good luck to all of you on your own journey, and I hope you achieve success and happiness outside this cult

This cult has made me socially inept (because of all the fakeness that they're always potraying while socializing with people) and it has been ingrained in me that wordly people are bad influence so I'm feeling a little bit uncomfortable writing this comment but I'm aware that with enough practice, I can make new friends outside of this cult. This is my first time commenting/interacting on exjw videos so I believe this is one step to path of recovery

WHO IS OVER ALL? Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. GOD and FATHER is OVER/ABOVE ALL and that "All" includes the SON so they are NOT EQUAL
THE BIBLE teaches that Jesus was MADE As Lord and Christ and as Son (ACTS 2:36, Prov 8, HEB 1:5), CREATED/PRODUCED/INSTALLED (Prov 8) , COME INTO BEING/MADE (Mat 21:42 - egeneto) and GIVEN LIFE by the Father - John 5:26 and it uses TODAY (Heb 1:5), and uses future tenses and is a prophecy in Isa 9:6 (Isa 9:6, - WILL BE) . If you are called MADE AND CREATED AND GIVEN LIFE, and NEVER CALLED in the BIBLE as Creator or Maker , then you are A CREATION. ALL FROM THE BIBLE
From the Lord was this (this is referring to the chief cornerstone who is Jesus) , the word WAS is egeneto (made or came into being) - Matthew 21:42 and the exact Greek word used in John 1:3 - MADE, egeneto (came into being) - JESUS WAS MADE/CAME INTO BEING FROM THE FATHER , yes, Jesus was MADE/CREATED!, See also Acts 2:36, Heb 1:5, 1 john 5
Isa 9:6 the word Prince in the Prince of Peace means PATRON ANGEL also Leader. WHO IS the ONE LEADER that we have? Jesus. Now, that same exact Hebrew word was used for Daniel 12:1 which is used for Michael the Archangel. So are you saying there are MANY LEADERS now?

I left pretty harshly 1997, with very little material around. First and foremost I continued my study of the Bible. The more I read the Bible, the more I doubted it. Final nail in the coffin was Lloyd Evans' videos about the book of Daniel being fake.
As for personal improvement, discovering Marie Kondo was crucial. JW stuff does not sparkle, so I thank and take it to the trash bin. I think cleaning is a language all people with JW background appreciate.

What do PIMO, POMI PIMI and POMO mean?
The terms PIMO, POMI, PIMI, and POMO, are abbreviations commonly used within certain communities to describe different states of mind and belief. Here's a breakdown of their meanings:
PIMO: Physically In and Mentally Out. This term is often used by individuals who are physically present within a particular group or organization (such as a religious or ideological group) but mentally have disassociated themselves or no longer believe in the teachings or principles of that group. It can be associated with a state of "waking up" to the inconsistencies or flaws within the group's beliefs.
POMO: Physically Out and Mentally Out. This term refers to individuals who have both physically left the group or organization and mentally disassociated themselves from its beliefs and practices. It signifies a state of freedom, liberty, and happiness from the constraints or control of the group.
PIMI: Physically In and Mentally In. This term is used to describe individuals who are both physically and mentally committed to a particular group or organization. They adhere to its beliefs, practices, and principles, often without questioning or critically evaluating them. It can be associated with a sense of being "enslaved" to the group's ideology or dogma.
POMI: Physically Out but Mentally In. This term refers to individuals who have physically left the group or organization but still hold on to its beliefs or mindset. They may have left due to various reasons but haven't fully let go of the group's teachings or ideology. It can be associated with a state of fanatical adherence or being mentally trapped in the group's influence.
These terms are primarily used within the context of religious or ideological communities and represent different stages of belief and disengagement. They serve as a way for individuals to express and identify their current mindset and relationship with a specific group or organization.
What do PIMO, POMI PIMI and POMO mean?
    #PIMO = Physically In and Mentally Out = Wake-up
#POMO = Physically Out and Mentally Out = Freedom / Liberty / Happiness
#PIMI = Physically In and Mentally In = Slavery / Zombification
#POMI = Physically Out but Mentally In= Fanaticism / Slavery
To get your freedom you must change from PIMO to POMO if you do not want to be a POMI.

As a gay cis male exjw, my sequence went something like this: uber-PIMI >> POMI >> PIMI again >> POMI again >> PIMQ >> POMQ >> POMO
I was a regular pioneer and ministerial servant, then disfellowshipped twice (about a year and a half each time), then really started questioning, physically left while still questioning (was 26 and living with parents that were desperately trying to "fix" me), and then 8 months later I finally did the *unforgivable* sin of doing research and became fully POMO.

    • @BR0K3NARCH3TYP3
      @BR0K3NARCH3TYP3 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@Ash_38_ Lemme explain: I lived knowing that I was gay yet still very much believing the jw world view, even when I was df'ed twice. I tried so hard to change because I viewed homosexuality like alcoholism. It took covid and the response to being reinstated a second time to make me hit a new low, and I was suicidical. A married couple offered to let me live with them until I could get on my feet, and I took that offer over killing myself. Jehovah is not supposed to test you beyond what you can bear, and that was the first time I really felt lied to. I left thinking that maybe it's just me, but it became apparent to me 8 months later when I finally did the forbidden Google, and then it was like the world was flipped upside down from beneath me. Deep down I always had doubts, but the programming (or grooming, if you will) is that strong. It made me question myself over and over long before I ever questioned it.

I started this channel because I noticed that there was a huge lacking of content available for people who don't want to give up on the bible entirely, and this is often cited by JW's in keeping people from leaving with comments like "everyone who leaves just ends up becoming an Atheist/ anti-God apostate!".
By offering people a suite of short-form video's that break down the anti-Christian beliefs and teachings that the Watchtower org has developed, I hope that people are more inclined to entertain an objective exit from the organisation on their own terms.

I didn’t stay a Christian myself (not atheist either), but you are right, helping people work out what feels right & authentic for them is very much needed. I can imagine leaving & seeing a abundance of xJW atheist’s would be very disheartening to someone who is still a believer in biblical teachings.

    • @lechuga9153
      @lechuga9153 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you so so so much for having that in consideration. For people who genuinely believed a whole set of doctrines and suddenly (or not so much) realized that they were fake, it can be really disheartening to just throw away all faith. Things like this might help them to feel less anxious, to know better how to navigate their fate, slowly but surely. And even if they do become a non Christian or an atheist eventually, it doesn’t have to feel so rushed. After all, you are a work in progress even before getting out. Anyway, I value the compassion for those who don’t want to leave the Bible entirely 🖤 Even if later they change their minds.

We are allowed to read the entire bible history from Gen. To Apoc. With all nonsense and strange parts. But we aren't allowed to read all full history of the watchtower in their collection of publications. Only from 1950 or 1970 for majority countries. Why? Because the changes... They changed so ostensibly their teachings to the point of Charles Taze Russel being disfelowshiped if he teach his teachings today...

Hey, Panda thank you so much for this. I am currently a year into having a bible study with 2 jw's. I never had any intention of becoming a jw, I always knew they were a cult, but I had an interest in learning about the scriptures. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for me to realise the study they offer, isn't a bible study at all, but more a watchtower indoctrination program! Still, it's been useful in many ways, as it's made me research the bible via other sources and given me so many opportunities to put forward some extremely (to them) challenging viewpoints, which I hope has them questioning the organisation. I have got to know them so well and genuinely love them and so I'm really desperate to try and wake them up.

I’m happy and I love the friendships I’ve made and the people I’ve met. I’m even getting married to a wonderful woman. But sometimes I feel this deep seated wanting to go back… it doesn’t help that there’s a JW hall 5 min walk from my fiancé’s house. I guess how I would describe it is emotionally I’m still in… I feel lost sometimes and I find myself driving by the hall wanting to stop when I see the meetings going on.

I questioned the teachings, most of it i dont think is biblical anyway, most of the verses they use to warp their teachings they take out of context or change the meaning. This made me atheist and hate God and the idea of there being a creator. Religious trauma is real and can make someone hate God. But God is good, it is the people using his word and warping it into something else that gave these people the idea that there is no God and that if there is one, they do not love them. Jesus Christ is lord and all loving, I have rejected him many times and wanted nothing to do with him. It doesnt matter how many times we betray Christ he will always love us. God bless

11:23 : I'd put Gutsick Gibbon above Forreist Valkai, personally. But that's my taste. There's Professor Stick as well.
For broader science there's Martymer81, Professor Dave Explains, as well as the whole flat earth debunking community, because yes it's one thing to see flat earth for the idiocy that it is, it's another thing to be able to explain clearly what is actually going on.
CoolHardLogic also had nice content (it's still there, he's just not been active for a very long time). He does the calculations that science deniers won't to show the consequences of claims made by those science deniers, and it's hilarious yet teaches a bit as well.
Myles Power is specialized in researching and debunking conspiracy theories, and not just the scientific ones. Very informative too.

For the people that are planning to leave Jehovah witness community and reading this, please hang in there. I may not be in this awful cult but i understand the pain you all are going through. I was gay when i was around 12 or 13. My parents hated the lgbtq community because of their Catholic religion. I was scared to come out in front of them knowing they are dead serious of kicking me out in the streets. What i did was hanging in there. I learned to never give up from cartoons, anime, and video games my parents tried to avoid for me. I felt isolated in my family. All i did was never give up, keep all my notes i learned from school, and plan to move out. Keeping my notes from school helped me so much. And my coworkers who are older than me gave me advice in life, my car, and everything i need to know to live my life. I never felt so free and well cared. And i know the feeling of missing out from your youth. Its ok. You may have missed out but its never too late to experience it. I understand because i missed out alot from my youth but I'm not missing out the opportunities that open up to me. No one to hold me back. I was scared but also excited to finally catch up what i missed out. And i have never felt so happy and free. Just hang in there, be brave once you are ready to leave. And slowly but surely you will feel free. It's ok to ask for help when you're out. You'll learn and finally get to experience with your life only YOU want it to be. And i understand that you still remember the things you went through. It's ok to remember your past. Just remember your past and look where you are at. Just look how far you are at. That's when you know you finally let go of your past, acknowledging it, and head for a brighter future. You'll never know what's out there for you. Which makes it scary but also exciting. And that's what makes it fun. Be smart, hang in there, and be brave. ❤

We or I have decided after leaving 15 years ago that a deep analysis of the bible finds it very troubling. The fact that The Gospels are Pseudonyms and are ONLY stories based on " Oral Tradition" other wise known as Hearsay. There was not as SINGLE Eye witness to Jesus doing anything. Stories are what we have. Devoid of Slavery, Ethnic cleansing, Racism, Misogyny ETC. Of Course An Exodus that never happened various stories of Vocal chords in animals etc. I would respectfully as a young age with a great mind to take your own advice. Don't encourage others to read the bible as it makes you no better. Let them decide. If you live in USA I understand your zeal on this but believe me. Your best friends are who Kipling had. 6 of them . WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHEN, WHY. ... take care now. Great work you are doing. Some is very funny and helpful to leavers.
