Of all the movies based on true stories, I never imagined the Cocaine bear would be one of them. What a beautiful time to be alive.
Tbf, it’s explicitly *inspired* rather than based off true events. Sure, there was a bear that infamously took a lot of cocaine after a drug dealer died jumping out a plane, but little is known about what said bear did while high asf before succumbing to the OD. Filmmakers obviously took a lot of liberties with what happened but then again, some crazy shit might have happened, no one knows.
Ebert: Gene, what you missed here is this isn't a movie about the failure of the War on Drugs or a message about the importance of humans not interfering with wild life. Its about a bear that does cocaine. Its about the cocaine this bear does.

Despite the obnoxious advertising I actually found myself loving this movie for what it knew it was

I'd rather see this movie than "Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey", this looks to be the more fun of the two "Killer Bear" movies.
Loved this movie. I give the writers major kudos for giving every character an extra detail or two that made them a little more interesting, relatable, or at least set up the opportunity for more jokes. And while I appreciated Blood and Honey for what it was, Cocaine Bear was a blast.
It's like snakes on a plane where with a title like that, being anything less than awesome is not an option
I just saw this in theaters tonight with my mom and we both thought it was hilarious!
This movie has been on everybody's list to watch for this year. Maybe I'll check it out. Who knows?

My friends and I saw it on shrooms and it was one of the most hilarious experiences of my life. Every concept they went for was funny before the scenes even played out. Laughed through the whole movie. I wonder if it’s good when I’m not tripping lol

This movie was fuckin' awesome. Yeah, all but say, one or two characters were likable. I was kind of hoping the blonde kid would get eaten, but it didn't happen. Of course, the thing everyone's going to bitch about the scene where the kids try some of the cocaine, which wasn't even that bad. The girl spits it out and boy keeps worrying that he's going to be addict.
I was hoping this one would be the right kind of stupid; this is gona be fun!
