After this cool conversation, I was reminded of a band I used to love, Brownsville Station. I owned a copy of the Red album in the seventies with The Martian boogie and My Friend Jack.
Their music was a lot like Rockabilly mixed with Glam. I did not realize the Glam part because I only recently, in the last day, looked up video of them.
From the wikipedia;
Cub 'Koda, a rabid collector of rockabilly, doo wop and blues'. Cub reminds me of Geddy Lee blended with Weird Al Yankovic on the video of Kings of the Party.
In my opinion, they were great players and performers.
I had one of the Ktel, Ronco presents compilation records and they had a cover of Gary Glitter's, You Wanna be in my Gang. I think Motley Crue could have done that one justice as well as Smokin' in the Boys room. The spice Girls cover it in the movie Spice World.
The tracks on the Red Album had different members switching off on guitar and bass. Some really cool walking bass on there.
