He is the best Meteorologist! Been watching channel 11 weather for years and won't watch anyone else!! They explain what is going on so well and seem to have some of the most accurate reports when it comes to these storms!!
This guys always has the best explanation of the weather systems. Educational and to the point! No dramatic effects which starts to get old after a while. Keep you the good work and thank you for the education.
I agree this weatherman did a really good job of explaining the graphics and the projections. My earliest memory of these storms is Hurricane David in 1979. I was just a boy back then but I remember my dad putting tape across the windows of the house to prevent glass shards from flying like missiles in case some debris hit them. Back then we would watch the evening news cast and get a longitude and latitude number and then plot that track on a piece of graph paper showing our part of the Southern Florida and the Atlantic basin. My how times have changed. Today we get instantaneous satellite tracking data and computer modeling that while not 100% accurate is light years ahead of what the science was like back in the 1970's. It's really the advent of powerful modern super computers and the computer algorithms to model these storms that has had the biggest impact in the last 50 years!
I've learned more since I've found u guys then I've ever learned...and I have lived in Florida(Pensacola) my whole life. Great weather group....I'd say the best news weather group on tv.
@@JIGSAW941 I don't think that he wants a hurricane to develop and cause casualties. More so, he sounds passionate about it and is explaining what conditions are favorable for their development. Don't focus on the wording too much when he says things like "perfect conditions for development" or "good outflow for a strong healthy storm" or "that's what you want to see when looking for development of a storm". I know it might seem he's cheering on the storm, but that's literally how one would describe the formation of a hurricane. Remember also that he's a meteorologist and therefore he is looking for signs of development and is describing what the signs are to a person who is looking for signs of hurricane development. Keep in mind that quite a number of the audience is also passionate about hurricane development and the development of different types of weather systems in general. It sounds more like he's speaking with passion about the storms and is describing the development of storms in best way he knows how.

I agree with others who say he is an Excellent teacher along with being an Excellent meteorologist! More stations should encourage their meteorologists - and give them extra on-air time - to explain and teach the their viewers so that the public will understand why you should not just follow the lines on the cone shown for hurricanes. Hurricanes are living breathing monsters that affect the environments they in, but are affected by their environments. Kudos to David!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We need more detailed teaching moments about weather from ALL TV station meteorologists so that more people will understand why they need to prepare and to evacuate! I suggest the lines on “cones” on weather reports for hurricanes should all be dotted to emphasize the uncertainty of “the cone”! Great work David!!
My hometown lake charles louisisna took two major hurricanes head on back to back a couple years ago the city still is trying to get back to normal. It was devastating I really hope it doesnt come this way either or yall way sending prayers and positive vibes toyall. .

I love the way you explain it. Technically I understand everything you said because I’m an civil engineer. % of Error means probability. It’s all earth science with mathematical rational equations based on historically event. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to us/me.
Don’t feel bad we went to Turks and Caicos for our annual vacation and got trapped in hurricane Fiona. I would STRONGLY reconsider if your flight is a little further out if this thing looks like it will hit there. When the power goes out in a Third World country things get scary pretty quick- and very HOT with no AC.
That looks like it could later skirt the southern coast from Tx to Fl…after demolishing Mexico. People in droughts prayed for rain, one needs to be careful of what they pray for. Thanks for the far in advanced notice. There should be zero reason/excuse for ANYONE to state they weren’t warned early enough. You’re over a week by the time of that forecast.
There was a high pressure cold front that pushed Hurricane Ian south to Fort Meyers. I predicted this 2 days before and I have done it every year. Why don’t they give the Public this accurate information or is it just to advertise to make money? A hurricane is a ‘hole’ in the atmosphere that is guided by the surrounding high pressure systems coming South from North America and the North Atlantic High pressure system. This ‘whirlwind hole’ glides into the low pressure hot Southern air. You are one of the few that accurately explained how to track a Hurricane!
Am I a bad person for being happy that it’s going west, away from Florida? I’m near Daytona Beach. We haven’t even started the recovery process from Ian.
Historial is a bit off. Joan-Miriam comes to mind, Mitch and Stan. And High pressure and cold fronts convert them into rain drenchets stationary over Central America.
No it’s called appreciation and admiration for Mother Nature cut the guy some slack he didn’t have to inform us at all and could have left us like sitting ducks
When do they give it a name?? The label "Invest 91L" doesn't sound like a person's name at all. It sounds like a robot. I doubt if that storm wants to be referred to as a robot. How insulting!! Also I think that high pressure system you were talking about will prob push the storm toward S. America and it will fizzle out over land.
This guy has a gift of teaching and makes it so easy a 3 year old could understand the weather.

The hurricane that hit New Jersey back in 2013 or whenever was named Hurricane Sandy. I didn't like that too much and that was a terrible hurricane.
