Probably still my favorite brewer game ever. I was 6 and remember my dad going crazy after the Braun homer. I’ll never forget this CC performance and Rock’s cathartic yells of “YES”. This was the day that made me a Brewer fan for the rest of my life.
I was home by myself that day, just a couple weeks after my 20th birthday, and didn't have cable, but was barely able to get on our TV the Telemundo broadcast of the game, so I watched that on mute, with the radio broadcast on. I didn't see it, but I got to hear Uecker's call of Braun's HR, and that was the first time I ever heard him get drowned out by the roar of the crowd. I was jumping up and down in my stepdad's house, going nuts, and when the Brewers had their postseason rally a couple days later, I skipped my last class of the day to go to it, and then my step-dad got a ticket for game 3 of the NLDS that he couldn't go, so I got to see the first-ever playoff game at (Miller Park). Nothing can replace those weeks of late September and October 2008.
If I recall the story, Braun, who struggled with a rib injury in September, talked with the hitting coach before this at-bat, and the hitting coach told Braun that the Cubs, in every single at-bat of those last 3 games, always threw fastballs for strikes on the first pitch, because his rib injury was keeping him from being able to swing fast enough. So Braun came up expecting a fastball, and he was able to barrel up on it. And I'll always remember Uecker's call. Heard it live on the radio: "Braun standing in...the pitch to him...(barely heard over the roaring crowd) SWING AND A DRIVE, LEFT-CENTER AND DEEP! GET UP, GET UP, GET OUTTA HERE, GONNNNE FOR RYAN BRAUN! And they've got the lead! Oh, what a shot by Braun! It's his 37th of the year!"
I will always get goosebumps listening to this game. I miss this team!!

Thank you for posting this game. One of the greatest days in Milwaukee sports history
God baseball was SO MUCH BETTER BACK THEN
I'll never forget when I watch the highlights of this clinch on ESPN back in Florida.
Oh my god thank you for the upload. I was at this game and getting some intense nostalgia for it

It's one of my favorite calls from Brian Anderson!
