      Too bad he hasn't uploaded anything else since then. He obviously had excellent restoration technology. there is so many games people uploaded that look like crap I wish he could have uploaded more games that looked like this

    Gotta say the Rangers announcers did a great job in letting the pictures tell the story. They appreciated the history they were watching.

      Bob Carpenter a first-rate announcer

      Agreed, no bias in the sound of the call. The way they called this HR, you would of thought they were Brewers or a major network commentator. Excitement in the call even for the opposing team.

    What a beautiful memory and to see it on (pristine) video is amazing! I listened to the game on the radio while sunbathing in my backyard. I'll never forget hearing Ueck's incredible call and the eruption of cheers throughout the neighborhood. Gives me chills to this day just thinking about it. ❤😊❤

      Too bad the center field camera bounces around to much it's hard to watch I need it perfectly steady

    I was in the press box covering the game for the old Milwaukee Sentinel. Wrote a sidebar on Deer. I wasn't the beat writer but at that point my boss told me I was covering the team as the second writer until they lost. Fun times.

      Do you think that if Deer played here longer that he'd be as popular as Gorman?

    This team should have made the playoffs. So much magic in 1987.

      Yes, the Brewers won 91 games that year. And too bad that the 1978 and 1979 Brewers teams w/93 and 95 wins, respectively, were stuck in the brutal AL East. Wish there woulda been wild cards and/or expanded playoffs back then. And, what, the 85-win Twins won the '87 Series? Life's not fair.

      @@Jeffrey-ph6yh Today, the 1978 to 1983 teams would have made the playoffs. The AL East was tough!

    • @Jeffrey-ph6yh
      @Jeffrey-ph6yh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevekristenanklam7282 They actually were in the AL West their first two years - 1970 and 1971. I believe Selig wanted them in the EAST to have rivalries w/Yanks, BoSox and Baltimore.

      @@Jeffrey-ph6yh yes Milwaukee very well might have a World Series Championship if there were expanded playoffs back then. Those were some excellent teams.

      Unfortunately, they had a huge loosing streak the following month. They went 2-18 for most of the month of May (From May 3rd to May 29th). They did have a mini 6 game winning streak (May 30th to June 4th), but they never recovered from that huge loosing streak. The 85 win Minnesota Twins won that year, go figure.

    Had a ticket to the game but didn't go; went to Mass and brunch w/Grandma and Grandpa. Listened to the final innings in their kitchen as it wasn't on TV in Milwaukee area - this is the Rangers telecast; Bob Carpenter is/was top-notch announcer. I think the analyst was Steve Busby - he had a no-hitter at County Stadium over a decade earlier. This was the Brewers' sixth victory vs. Rangers in their 12-game streak to start the season as they had swept them in Arlington the previous weekend. Had Rob Deer played here longer, he'd be as popular a figure as Gorman. Anyone see where the ball lands on his 3-run homer?

      As much as I love sports, Mass was the right choice

      It landed about 3 rows behind me ;-) Never forget this game for as long as I live! Parents let me skip our Easter Sunday traditions and I remember cooking out in that sun in the LF bleachers. That game had a playoff feel to it!

    • @mike7696
      @mike7696 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I can answer this question. The ball went over the bleachers. Reason I know is because I was at the game, with legs resting on the left field “foul/fair” pole. The fans in left field turned their heads to watch it go over the bleachers. I can still see it in my head. This video has amazing clarity/restoration. Only thing better was seeing it in person. My brother and two friends who were also at game and sitting nearby the l left field pole can attest to what I’m saying.

    Mitch Williams was a Texas Ranger pitching in this game? I knew he was a Cub, a Phillie and an Astro, but not a Ranger.

    boy did bobby valentine mess that one up, and mitch williams was not pleased one bit..that Brewer team was fun to watch, yet just a few weeks later believe they turned around and lost 12 in a row..paul molitor had a 39 game hitting streak that season, 91 wins but still finished third

      I couldn’t agree more! Team Streak was the most exciting team and season of my lifetime. I was fortunate to attend game 37 Molitor’s 39-gamer. The excitement and crowd noise was crazy. To this day, I get chills watching this game #12. And you’re 100% correct, Mitch was not happy with Bobby V and his hook.
      A side note: Bob Carpenter with an all-time great call of the this comeback by an opposition team.

    When you look at the shots of the stadium near the end, there was obviously alot more than the 30,000 announced crowd. It looks almost near capacity (53,000).

      The bleachers and 3B side were packed but the upper deck on the 1B side was pretty empty because of the shade. It was a beautiful day but it gets cold in the shadows in April

    • @gr8daynegb
      @gr8daynegb หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MikeMath9also figure in the times as well. County Stadium had a general admission seating area on top of the mezzanine level and they of course will sit as close as they can. You can tell in areas in the shade is where you can see empty spots
