  • This is the 1st Honda Civic EG Hatchback made for North America VIN 00001 Found in Ontario Canada with only 12km (7 Miles)on the odometer!! 1992 Honda Civic DX produced in Allston Ontario at Honda Canada manufacturing. It still had the original oil in the engine! This is incredible & one of the most amazing ‘barn finds’ ever! Thank You to Dylan from SharpeRacingOfficial for letting me film this Ultimate Time Capsule and a few other #Shorts #Honda #HondaCivic

      It is a museum peice, I want to know what the offers were (yes I can't afford it, but would be interesting to have heard the offers in 2023). It should be parked in the Honda plant it came from in the foyer one day.

      It is not good to put it in a museum like this, it has oil, fuel and sooner, but later the seals start leaking. I would not drive it either, but sell it to someone who will preserve it.

    WOW...I bought a new 1992 Civic DX hatchback like that one. Manual transmission , only options I got was A/C and a passenger mirror. (I think it was $10,100 new.) It was a great car and after 9 years and 180K miles I totaled it and still got over $4K from insurance.(It was amazing how much stuff would fit in the back of that little car., nobody would believe it.)

      @pcthayer ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JoesGoldenGarage Yes you can. I have. done it. Also once I remember my brother in law called me up and bought a work bench at Home Depot and it wouldn't fit in his car. I went down to the store and he said it wouldn't fit, in my car but it fit perfectly inside my Honda. That car was like a magic trick since it was "small on the outside, but big in the inside". Most of the lumber for my deck and all the landscape timbers were brought in my Honda. It was great with the fold-down tailgate. (I kind of ruined the rear struts with all that weight but it took it OK.)

    Okay, I have some insight here and some facts. The insight is Honda/Acura gave low Vin Acuras and Hondas to trade schools across Canada. VIN #3 Integra DA was at BCIT in Burnaby forever, still might be there. These cars have been apart and put back together so many times by students, that's how we learned. Okay, now for some Canadian 5th gen Civic info, the CX was the base in Canada. It was still a 16 valve d15b7. Had no door mouldings, no rear wiper, no tilt steering, 92-93 had vinyl seats, had radio delete plates most of the time. A/C we often installed at the dealership. Any more questions? Ask away as I lived and breathed these cars, and still work in service at the Honda dealership. I should fire up a Canadian Honda Pro channel, lol.

    I bought my 1992 Civic DX in 1992 brand new. They had to clear out the inventory for the 1993 models, so I got it for $9,999. This generation of Civics (and Preludes) are my all time Honda design favorites. I do remember my 1992 civic breaking down a couple of times. One time I blew up the radiator... make that two times. Also had alot of oil leaks. Over 10 years, I got stuck on the freeway about three times from random parts failing. But it was the best looking generation IMO! I now drive a 1999 Civic DX. In 23 years it broke down twice. Wow... the engineers of that generation really improved reliability. Can't say much for the later generations with the small engine bay (over heating problems?). Fast forward to current day Civic... wow.. it looks really good, but I'll stick with my 1999 for another 23 years. peace out.

    I love Honda for these cars also. My first car I bought from a Honda dealership was a 1994 Civic hatch back in red like this actually it looked pretty exact. I loved the car, even though no ac or power windows nothing. But it was fun to drive and the best manual transmission I’ve ever driven with in a car. So smooth and precise.

      I can see where you're going there, but I believe if they did that the main consumers would be enthusiasts. At this day and age of modern styling the hatch hasn't aged that great and regular consumers would likely grab a new toyota, honda, or nissan with more modern bells and whistles with just a slightly higher price tag.

    • @Teknakill
      @Teknakill ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @gibememoni How aboot they "refit" the fit. Turn it into a nicer looking hatch back with amazing milliage.

    • @philipegoulet448
      @philipegoulet448 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@phenomkrumperhe price tag would be wayyy lower than modern cars. This car is much smaller, much lighter and much simpler to build than a modern car.
      A 2023 honda civic is 400kg heavier than this one. Think about how much "stuff" that represents :)
      It would of course, never pass safety and emissions tests regardless

    Not sure when it changed, but the CX was the base model for the Canadian Civic in 1995. Bought one new for just over $10K and was bare bones, not even a passenger side mirror which the upper trims had or in my case, an added accessory. It was a great car, have many fond memories.

    had a 1995 DX here in the UK in Harvard Blue but it came with a 1300cc Carburettor set up only had 75hp but it was a fun little car , despite being crashed into on two separate occasion it was repaired by the insurance companies and it still ran beautiful up to 140,000 mile when I traded it in for a 2001 civic 1.6 EK , the DX only ever had a timing belt change at 60000 miles and a replacement heat shield for the Cat everything on it was as it was when I bought it, it was a stupidly easy car to work on and I did every single oil change myself using 10w 40 oil, it did get a bit of rust in the rear arches but I discovered that was down to Honda placing stupid rubberised edging strips to the lips of the arches ? I remove them when I realised they were rust traps, best Honda I have ever owned 2nd best was a 2005 Accord 2.0 Ivtec. On a 2020 CRV 1.5 T now its nice but a bit dull even with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

    Early nineties civics were bulletproof….good maintenance on one, and they’d go forever. My wife bought a new ‘91 Civic LX…. drove it 13 years…. sold it to a buddy who drove it many years…. he sold it to a lady friend after it was beat in a hailstorm…..and the last time he talked to her, she said “lumpy” just surpassed 400K on that original engine!
    He did tell me that he put a trans in at just under 200K…….but still…… wow.
