Jason, I have ALWAYS loved these cars, so combining the best of both worlds of Honda and DMC is so cool. Thank you for sharing this with all of us, really. Most people don't realize how small these cars really are, because they've never seen one in person, but the DMC-12 is a really small car (about the size of an EK or EG coupe, but lower). My buddy had a 1981 in his shop a few years ago, but it was a 2.8 PRV V6 with an auto. True story, in the Back to the Future franchise, the producers had to substitute the exhaust sounds of the car to sound much more powerful because the PRV V6, even with the manual trans, was an absolute turd. This car with the K series alone would be such an improvement, but add the Precision turbo and it's a totally different beast. He also made the factory guages work, which is so cool in my opinion. Also, having that Porsche six speed gearbox is the cherry on the cake.
Ok, the best part of the whole video is at 9:30. The look on his face when the turbo spools up for that first time… that was pure kid in a candy shop joy. That’s for the vid, and thanks to the owner for sharing.

I'm a big fan of Deloreans and i have loved every different engine swap i have seen with them, but this is one of the cleanest, best sounding swaps i've seen. I'm sure it's as fast as it needs to be but that sound can't be beat.

Great job. I never understood owners wanting to keep the original crappy asthmatic engine. This car should see the next century & not be treated like porcelain. Keep the stainless steel & the amazing design & modernize everything to make it a fun daily driver.

Jason has any one put a K in an AC Cobra kit? I think that you should drive one if they have. My dream is an S200 drive line, for that buttery smooth shifting, but I would settle for an all wheel drive HRV swap. If only money grew on trees.

Pretty awesome build though I wont deny that.
The statement that the DeLorean is "sketchy" at speed says a lot about it's overall design and engineering.
A classic case of form over function.
Perhaps the answer is to sit the body on a decent chassis.
Not sure why he said that. It isn't "sketchy." The steering rack vibrates, all of them have it to a certain degree.
The fact that the factor sway bar is positioned through the lower control arms makes the feedback pretty pronounced.

With some fuel system upgrades that turbo should be capable of about 700hp, which would be about all you could do with a stock k24. This is a dream build for me, I'm living vicariously through this guy at the moment!

The fuel is there for 700hp, I don't think the transaxle and axles will support the torque from it.
@@jwt390030 lol I say that because I don't know what pump or injectors are being run, but yes especially in that heavy car you'd be breaking driveline at 700hp 👍🏻

@@jwt390030 well now I see they're about 2700lb. I really thought they were heavier. Still 400lb heavier than your average 2300lb civic hatch you commonly see them in.
I saw this is a 6-speed conversion, it's safe to assume this has got a G96 Porsche box? 😁
EDIT: I read that it is indeed the Porsche tranny in there. Best choice, and it'll definitely get you beyond 88 mph 🤣👍
Honda should broker a deal to make these they would sell sooo many especially if they could keep the price under 25k

@danielhenderson8316 As in they they get the rights use the design and name and make replicas body and engine , yes I know it wouldn't be a authentic but could still be nice . Unsure if DMC I'd still manufacturing anything. But if they are they get them to make the shell interior etc.
@@JMPCARREPAIRS The current DMC has just about every single part or can remake them, but even putting them back together usually ends up around $75K which is also the current used price for a DeLorean before engine swaps. .

I've owned quite a few in the past, 89 lx wagon, 99 si, 00 si, 00 si, 00 civic ex, 08 accord exl coupe, 10 accord exl coupe, crosstour, 11 exl v6 coupe accord.
If you're gonna build a k swap into a car why not do with some style?
