If they weren't this strict and challenging, then we wouldn't end up with the awesome and enjoyable personalities noticeable in nearly every veteran from the military. They're always fun to be around, and I bet it's got something to do with this.
As a former TSgt, A few words to all the new 2nd Lt's out there. LISTEN TO YOUR Sgts. They no more about how the military works than you. Yes you've got that nice shinny gold bar, I respect the rank but you've got to earn the respect of your Airman.
Do endurance build exercises, or what I call the famous 5s. For push-ups, do 5 sets of 10 push ups. If you can complete 5 sets of 10 push ups, increase the level to 5 sets of 11. Do this 4-5 times a day. Also, consume lots of protein, like the amount of grams compared to your weight (example: if you weigh 150lbs, consume 150grams of protein). Do the same for pull ups, try 5 sets of 2 to begin, keep doing it until every set had 2 full pull ups, then level up. I hope this helps! Good luck!
@USAFxL3G1TX First off force recon could rescue a marine could get into an f22 the marine corps has some incredible fighter pilots. Lets see an air force officer candidate go through what a marine officer candidate goes through... after a video like this I say... good luck. This vid makes it look like all fun and games. Note: I respect all branches father is a retired f15 pilot and was an army attack helicopter pilot. I am currently working with the marine officer selection office to get to OCS
I'm glad these tools were able to have a jolly time at OTS or whatever its called. I went through 8 weeks of madsuck at Ft. McClellan where smiling was not so common. Air Force... lol.
that's cause the marines are mostly physical training... there's a lot more behind the sences of AF OTS than just physical requierments... Speaking from experience (since i am in the Air Force) we have to score MUCH higher than anyone else in the Military just to even get in the Air Force... Air Force OTS is not only physical but mentally challenging in many ways
@pijoe7752 They're OT Majors and OT Lt Cols. It's a trainee rank, not a commissioned rank. The OT officer's are the ones with the black ranks with vertical lines. We have the same rank system in AFROTC.
OMG, that shrill Harridan at the beginning, how sadly formulaic and unoriginal. We had someone just like her here in Canada when I did my Officer Training, lol; it's a world wide phenomenon!
@ThatHaloGuy117 its because the marines are the ones on the front line, no BMT or BOT school is gonna be exactly the same difficulty because each branch does different things and each branch has to prepare for different things
Air Force requires a high AFOQT score (every section should be in the 80+). The army requires a high score in the ASVAB (I forgot the scores to be competitive). The ASVAB is a little easier, but do study hard and don't study the night before (I recommend at least 3 weeks before from different sources, not just one). Nevertheless, Army officer requires a harder physical fitness compared to air force. You need to be able to do 60-100 push ups and sit-ups, and a minimum 2-mile run of 16:36.
@Lexrockstheblock you don't go to OTS if you graduate from ROTC. OTS turns enlisted airmen with a college degree into officers. ROTC and the academy get your degree and officer commisioning at the same time.
caxguy, i have decided to attend the usafa in 2016. but thank you for your phsical advice. i do approximetly 255 push ups a day, and good amout of pull ups.i found out that OTS is up in alaska, so i'll stick with colorado.thx
keep doing pushups and pullups, try for maximum range of motion. even if you can't do very many, this will improve the muscle groups responsible for these movements. try variations of the exercises (elbows out, elbows tight, hands wide, hands narrow) and you will see improvement. good luck
I am going to hopefully be there in 3 more years. I run and am in pretty decent shape but I was just wondering how much PT you guys had to do throughout OTS.
She's not a drill instructor. It's more embarrassing than that. She's a trainee just like the ones she's yelling at, except she's been there for about 4-5 weeks. Of course, she has to act like that, but I'm sure everyone involved feels goofy about the situation. I know it'll feel weird for me when I'm there in September!
Many of these people will go into another branch of training. One thats way harder than the marine corps. Everyone thinks marines are the biggest baddest guys, but in reality, theyre not really the complete best. Theres always someone better.
@cplaxguy I guess I don't understand the last part there where you show all the people and give their ranks. Everyones rank was Maj-Lt Col. If this is OTS I thought everyone grads from OTS as a 2nd Lt's. How are they all Majors and Lt Col's??
Only 225 a day? I do over 500. 50 Pushups in one minute. And I do more sometimes. Morning=50 6 am=50 8 am=50 10 am=50 12 pm=50 2 pm=50 4 pm=50 6 pm=50 8 pm=50 Before bed=50 Btw OTS is in Alabama:3
Hi, was It pretty hard to get into OTS? what can my husband do to boost his chances of getting in... he will have his BA in Biology in a year, he does not really have any "real world" work experience, he mainly works part time on the weekends managing a small farm, no prior service... Ive heard that its really tough to get in these days...I know he should talk to a recruiter but, im just curious..Thanks in advance(:
How difficult is it to get into OTS with an engineering degree (hoping to maintain a 3.4-3.6gpa) and a lot of leadership positions on the resume'? I still have 2 years left until i graduate, but I want to do all I can to be competitive for a spot now (my campus doesn't have AFROTC)
I have a ton of questions about OTS but for some reason I can't access your account to send you a private message. I've been in the Air Force for about 9 months now and when my one year mark comes I want to start working on applying to OTS. Just wanted some info about it because I googled it and found very little information.
im enlisted in the air force an im considering going to ots, what are the recommendations, is it anything like enlisted basic training, or is it shorter and much easier? id like to hear from anyone but mostly from officers who were previously enlisted! thanks
shit im in afjrotc now, and i still have to head to college, get into afrotc, then hit ots, and im kinda nervous. did yall do the cs gas chamber and SERE training?
Hey I'm planning to apply for the Air Force to attend OTS this year. I'm currently a college senior. How can I increase my chances of being selected to OTS because I heard that the Air Force is pulling back on the number of candidates to attend OTS...
If I don't get accepted into OTS can I join the army and be an officer there? Just wondering, since it's apparently really difficult to be accepted into OTS.
i am really good in my intellectual part, i make high grades, and i have good abdominal muscles(i can do 50 curl-ups within 45-60 sec) but my arm muscles are...flemsy. i can do up to 30 push ups, and 2 pull ups, if that. any advice on how to improve?
What If you do not do good in the obstacle course, and say you can not complete one of the objectives, can you still graduate. (although I hope this will not be a situation for anybody)
I'm thinking about joining the officer training school. Got a 4 year degree in computer science and and it's doing nothing for me. My girlfriend was also talking about enlisting but she was going to go active duty I think. I'm not really the physical type but I can do basic workouts. Will that be enough for officer trianing school based on anyones experience?
The two sentences you just said had nothing to do with each other what so ever. Just because someone is "smart" in a sense, doesn't mean they are going to be in the Air Force. The air force does require much more training and studying to become an officer.
You think that is hard? Try deploying as a grunt. Try being stuck in a patrol base in the middle of no where with 150 guys trying to get time on ONE sat phone.
"Poor and working people in this country are sent to kill poor and working people in other countries to make the rich richer. Without racism, soldiers would realize they have more in common with the Iraqi people than the trillionare bankers who send us to war." The resistance is standing up for the rights that you fight and kill to take away from the people and ultimately from yourselves. Bless you. All are ONE.
I'm so grateful to the young men and women that choose to serve their country.
i love this video, this seemed much more relaxed than i thought it would be.
i just my experience will be like that when it's my time to go.
If they weren't this strict and challenging, then we wouldn't end up with the awesome and enjoyable personalities noticeable in nearly every veteran from the military. They're always fun to be around, and I bet it's got something to do with this.
Con este video, me mostraron lo importante que es estar alegre a pesar de las circunstancias! NO TODO ES GUERRA... Excente VIDEO (Y)

Soundtrack of 90s songs. Love it
randomly came across this video, I went on a tdy with swatek, cool guy.
thats because marines are grunts on the ground airmen are the brains in the sky
I'm a fellow HOYA, Batch '97. I love Green! :-)
PREACH! Thank you!!!

We're all on the same team here people stop bashing on different branches, everyone plays their important roles in one way or another!!!
I'm glad these tools were able to have a jolly time at OTS or whatever its called. I went through 8 weeks of madsuck at Ft. McClellan where smiling was not so common. Air Force... lol.

dude some of these guys will go into another training like combat rescue officer/ PJ which is way harder than any marine training
I lol'd when you all flashed the peace sign when you are in training to become killers hahahahaha.
Good luck;D
...I was going to try to go to ocs with the marines, but this looks fun
She's not a drill instructor. It's more embarrassing than that. She's a trainee just like the ones she's yelling at, except she's been there for about 4-5 weeks. warlords. looks intense

coming from the kid whos name is "that halo guy"
@cplaxguy I guess I don't understand the last part there where you show all the people and give their ranks. Everyones rank was Maj-Lt Col. If this is OTS I thought everyone grads from OTS as a 2nd Lt's. How are they all Majors and Lt Col's??
Been in af for year....I hope to get into ots :)
Just graduated from 13-04 (was in flight 2-13) and it's pretty much the same stuff! Oh and Major General Kevin is still around. lol
at 5:37 what do you mean by "the few who made it" ..how were they eliminated or what got them disqualified to proceed?
I know OTS is a lot harder than this video makes it look, right?
i hope to change that.
@ThatHaloGuy117 Uh huh, it is. Different mission, different training.
I'm going to go through this someday :)
Did you go?
Only 225 a day? I do over 500.
50 Pushups in one minute.
And I do more sometimes.
Morning=50
6 am=50
8 am=50
10 am=50

2 pm=50
4 pm=50
6 pm=50
8 pm=50
Before bed=50
Btw OTS is in Alabama:3
I guess that goofy shit at 8:45 is what the Hoyas do while the Tigers are out running their asses off.
@ThatHaloGuy117 It is! I'm a Marine.
God helps me with 9:00 , oh how can they do military bearing with that =)) lmfao
So, if you want to become a commissioned officer, do you go straight to ocs, or bmt and then ocs?
Hi, was It pretty hard to get into OTS? what can my husband do to boost his chances of getting in... he will have his BA in Biology in a year, he does not really have any "real world" work experience, he mainly works part time on the weekends managing a small farm, no prior service... Can you attend OTS after AFROTC?
I hate that trainees yell at trainees...

@ThatHaloGuy117 its more fun too i went and i loved it.
Do you think this would be something good for a thirty year old. Or will it suck because there older surrounded by youngsters with experience
You think that is hard? Try deploying as a grunt. Try being stuck in a patrol base in the middle of no where with 150 guys trying to get time on ONE sat phone.
@ThatHaloGuy117 Yes, i think so

WTF? A Lamar county Georgia tag on the Jeep.
@ThatHaloGuy117 Your point being...?
@actorman311 OIC...Got it. Thanks!
no... LOL.. ROTC commissions officers. OTS commissions officers. you will already be an officer after ROTC. you dont need OTS
SOUND OFF LIKE U GOT A PAIR!!!!!
i don't like the yelling part in the begging :O but other then that every thing else seem good
@FixBayonetsA4 You'd think a Marine officer would act a little more mature than this
@ThatHaloGuy117 it seems that the air force is more brain less physical
OTS is in Alabama silly.
Go to airforceots dot) com for all the answers you seek.
ive noticed that most of the songs on AF vids are gay.
the dude at the beginning has a girly voice
LMAO, wtf is this? hahahaha
Why are you replying to your own comment? lol
This is a joke
Women in the military.... LOL.
