Well done. After having bad gout for 20 years, a near fatal heart attack in 2019, and now diagnosed with agonising Fibromyalgia to add to 2 worn discs by driving a train for 30 years I'm struggling, not just physically but mentally too. Started yoga combined with a little bit of gentle pool swimming. The Scottish hills are ( at the moment ) a distant memory for me but here's hoping. Miss climbing too but hope one day to get up some easy routes. Thanks for the great videos. Far better than watching someone tell you what they've been eating this week......👍
For sheer cinematography alone your videos always provide the most wonderful experience! That sunrise was incredible, if you weren't in the picture I would have thought that it was a digitally enhanced image! Thank you!
The early morning light was simply stunning. I love deep fresh snow but the effort is something else. The joy of the soft snow soon gives way to the desire to be back on a firmer footing. You had some fabulous scenery to take in. Descents though really sort your knees out. Just wait until you are a bit older and you will find it even more of a problem. Keep enjoying as much as possible everyday.
Probably the best dawn light I have experienced in ages - it was a special morning - not so much the decent though!! Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Wow, your videos never fail to leave us in awe Murray. Those snowy views of the mountains were something else!🤩. So sorry you are still having trouble with the knees, it is always the way down that you start to feel the effects of the climb isn't it, particularly on the knees. We hope you manage to get it sorted. It must be so frustrating as climbing is your passion. Take care, Shell and Pete
Wowww murray what stunning colours, the pinks blues whites makes my Heart sing looking at all those ,Beautiful just Beautiful scenery love the silence of the mountains, that looked hard work for you with your poorly knee ,but what a reward for you and us when you got to the top , enjoy your coffee and we'll earned break thank-you for taking the time to bring us along with you ,looking forward to the next video luv Susan xx ps Murray oooooo La La love the Braces
Knee injuries are literally a pain Murray. Had a few in my time and they seem to take ages to mend. And then they go as quickly as they appeared. I turned my ankle a couple of years ago and after 6 weeks complete rest, then months going out on pain killers, it eventually cleared after 9 months. Patience and time are what's required. Good luck.
After 50+ years of hiking and running I have to match my activities to how my knees feel, with no real pattern...some days fine, some not, but downhill is always the worst. I think it's because as we walk downhill, we over-extend the lower leg, putting more stress on the knee joint, the cartilage and ligaments. I've tried knee strengthening at the gym, as advised by a trainer, which may be helping. Also, avoiding too many hard surfaces for any jogging, and as I walk downhill, taking shorter strides and avoiding any twisting movements. All these together seem to have worked to some extent. Now I need to stop getting older!! Great vid and wonderful conditions, enjoyable as ever. Tek care as we say in Yorkshire
The change from darkness into dawn about 3 mins 40 in was just stunning and then it just continued to get better. I think we all appreciate the effort you put in to make these videos at the best of times but even more so whilst testing your knee. Thanks again for sharing
Another beautiful bit of scenery Murray - I am just catching up with your whole knee story, and I trust it's OK these days but you obviously had a lot to do at the time this was shot, in terms of nursing it back to health. If it's any consolation, you're still younger (I assume, I'm 57) and fitter than I am! I've been in Scotland almost a year now and all I've managed is Mither Tap at Bennachie, which I really enjoyed but I'd like to try something a little wilder... one step at a time though, eh? All the best.
Magical! That music adds to the atmosphere (sounds a bit like Vangelis, shades of Blade Runner). Thanks for uploading, Murray. Hope the knee improves.🏴⛰
What a fantastic channel this is, great production values, a very personable host, and I have to say that it really helps me with my depression (feel daft saying that tbh, but felt I must) as it almost feels like I'm there on those wonderful mountains, so thank you very much and I hope your knee starts to feel better soon.
Wow super photos Murray. Shame the knee wasnt happy with the descent, a bit more resting l think. Thanks for sharing your hike. Take care till next time Alioban x
Such an inspiration! Only travelled to Scotland in the summer to Torridon a couple of times. Really considering a winter trip next year. Good luck with the knee 🤞
I hope you don't feel pressure to take all the video equipment and the bits to camera with the ongoing knee pain. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would rather you got back to 100% and took some time off the videos, as much as id miss them. Thanks for the inspiration Murray, me and my other half managed to see the northern lights on a summit camp (Beinn Achaladair) we couldn't believe it, something I dreamed of after seeing your video from Beinn Alligin.
Wonderful sunrise views and colours and you brought back a memory from way back when descending the Devil’s Staircase through knee deep snow I also found myself up to me thighs with one foot in water. My young son was highly amused. Really feel sorry the knee pain is still troubling you so especial thanks for another great video. A T B.
Glad you got out and made it to the top of our local hill, shame about the knee though, hopefully a bit of work on the vastus medialis will help, beautiful colours in the video, hope you got some good photos.
Nice one Murray, all said the knee held up fairly well considering ... they were tough conditions for a dodgy knee. Hopefully some rest and gentle exercise over the next few weeks will help strengthen it ready for the summer season.
Many thanks for all the great videos you have made, love them all. It's the only way that most of your viewers will ever see the sights you show us through your eyes. The inversions are magical. 🙏
Hi Murray over in Scotland for a wedding and a few days hols and climbed Ben Vrackie today before returning to Ireland tomorrow. A nice route from Pitlochry watched your video later in the Air b&b 👍
Hi Murray. Fantastic video again. Lovely views. Shame about the knee, but hopefully if you take it steady over the next few weeks the strength in it will improve. Thanks for sharing your adventure. It's why we all look forward to Wednesday evenings! 😄⛰
Worth the effort for those views. I did a winter skills course recently in the Scottish highlands, would definitely recommend for anyone that hasn't tried winter hill walking. Gives a really good grounding in what to prepare for, what winter conditions are actually like, equipment use etc. Watching this just reminded me how hard breaking trail is in snow when you're sinking up to your knees. It takes a lot more effort! Great stuff.
Think a few of us have been found out having to break trail again after missing the best of the snow over the past couple of years due to lockdowns and crap winters. I had the honours heading up Beinn Damh in December and rediscovered leg muscles that hadn't been used since 2020!
Done Ben Vrackie recently, couldn’t believe how washed out the path was, maybe better on the lower part if the snows accumulated in the ruts? Good wee mountain though, not to be underestimated either.
Beautiful in the snow. Great vid. I remember descending Cairngorm in deep snow on a black bin liner to save my knees many years ago. Probably not the safest way to descend but it was fun 🤣🏔️
After a long and painful break worrying if I would ever make the hills again, I am on my third little climb and I have had your story as part of my getting up the courage thinking. Well done for the attempt! Good will in your own journey. I am trying to understand injury as part of climbing and not its enemy.
Well done. You are certainly overcoming obstacles in order to achieve your goals. Fantastic footage. Much respect to you. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Congratulations Murray considering the circumstances with your Knees and deep snow. Going back to my last comment regarding my knees, I done Beinn Tulleachan and Cruach Ardrain on Sunday and summited both without any issues with the knees. After speaking with someone I was recommended to do some squats prior to the hike and to start eliminating the pressure on the downhill by swapping from left to right on the legs every few steps or so. Managed to descend without problems. Very well done on this one and again like previous comments I look forward to your next hike. ATB
Thanks Marco - currently going through a physio excercise program (that includes squats ) so hoping this will help :) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Great filming and stills as usual Murray. Can't help thinking you were pushing your knee a bit too soon? I hope I'm wrong and it's much improved now. Yeah, I bought a pair of the Rab braces for my Paramo pants and added four wee loops to the waist - worked a treat. ATB 😎
Thanks Ian - I am with you on that - if the snow hadn't been too deep I reckon it may have been a bit easier but I should've known better than to push on through the deep stuff!! rest was required not swimming through snow!!lol Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Spectacular view Murray, take care of that knee. I always tape both knees before a big day out. Prefer tape to a elastic bandage for 2 reasons, they always slip down and the tightness bothers me behind the knee after a few hours. Anyways whatever suits you, take care ATB
Thanks Darrell, the videos usually run about a month behind due to work commitments , life etc etc!! got some updates in the pipeline regards the knee - KT being one of them :) take care and thanks for watching M
Awesome walk that Murray. If you are getting pain when coming down good chance here is an imbalance in the knee. Depends where it is. When resting from the walking you also need to work on the strengthening as when its hurt you compensate and get atrophy in other areas. Gotta build it back up. A physio will help with that. 👍 ive been there with my knee and also achilles after a snowboard boot rubbed it real bad.
Pretty fantastic as usual Murray.... Who irons your RR Trousers lol having bought a pair lol mine came out in a ball of creases :) maybe you do send hours ironing because you always turned out so well. The knee is getting better :) fantastic..onwards and upwards ☘️
I usually watch your videos on the telly, and haven't yet figured out how to sign in and like or whatever. Us old guys aren't happy with technology. I probably just watch most stuff on the computer with a mouse and a comfy desk seat. Take care out there.
I'm with you on that one Ed -I have not figured out how to leave comments when watching on the TV either !!lol Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Great colours just before the sunrise, superb ! Had some issues with both knees since last years austria trip, supplements, physio, still bothersome, tho usually next day, funnily enough only when resting i feel it most, hope you can overcome the knee problem and continue.
Thank you Murray, the snow looked heavy going but a lot of fun and the views were very lovely. Sorry that your knee is not yet well, I hope it improves and gets better in time and you can continue onward with your passion. The lovely pink skies were so beautiful. I have watched all your videos now, so am going to go back and do them all again 😁 I am getting nearer to my trip to Scotland, hopefully this year, its only taken me 51 years due to various reasons 😂 but I want to thank you, because your videos have given me the inspiration, drive and a goal to work to and get up there, you would not think it is so hard to get from one side of an island to another but you know 🤣 Every time I think I am not going to make it or get down a bit because I think I will never get to Scotland, I watch one of your videos and it help keeps my chin up and makes me work harder to get to Scotland and see it in real life, so thank you Murray, I suspect when I finally make it, it will be breathtaking and I am probably going to shed a tear or two.
The colour of that sunrise on the mountains was amazing Murray. Great idea on the braces too, I do suffer from my breeks falling down so might have to invest in a pair of those! Your voice overs are excellent by the way, do you have a special setup for doing them? Thanks again for sharing your adventure and ATB!
Thanks - the braces are great (when I have them on correctly lol) I just use a rode mic for the voice overs when editing on powerdirector - a pretty simple set up TBH :) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
I feel for you. I walked off a hill after MRSDE training last December in the Lake District and I've had Patellofemoral joint pain ever since. Downhill certainly tells you if you're recovering or not. Take care and keep up the excellent videos. :)
Wonderful scenery Murray especially the early morning. Sorry to hear the knee is still not quite there yet. Can't have helped it suddenly going through the deep snow on the ascent. I'm sure with the right rest and care it will get better. Just takes time as frustrating as it is. It's been a year with my shoulder now and it's just about back to full movement and no pain. Anyway. Take care Murray and ATB.
Wonderful light! Thanks for sharing and good luck with your recovery. I wear braces when my piriformis muscle flares up (a belt inhibits the hip rotation I do to release the nerve). One tip, though. Avoid wearing a checked shirt (plaid) with those braces. The 'I'm a lumberjack' song you will hear repeatedly throughout the day from friends, family and general passers by loses much of its appeal by the 20th listen.
Hi Murray. Was up there in the summer of 2020. The views are unbelievable whatever the season. Probably a sustained period of rest may be the best solution for your knee though I know how frustrating that'll be for you. Great video mate
Like many here have said, good luck with the knee pain. I too suffered from over use for a bit until I figured out tape, support wraps. Also worked with a sports medicine doctor who had me shorten my stride just a little and it healed.
Thanks - I am now seeing a physio and undergoing a excercise program - also she gave me Kt tape to try out on next hike - fingers crossed it works 🤞 Take care and thanks for watching Murray
I tried Ben Vrackie just over a week ago but had to turn back just past the bench at the wee Loch. Started off a lovely spring morning but 2 hours later the wind and rain arrived! Battled on but after being put on my backside on more than one occasion I turned back. I'll try again in a couple of weeks!! Hope the knees improves soon.
the mountain will always be there for your return - a wise move to return another day if the conditions were a little challenging :) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
So much snow, drifts are a real pain in the ar.. & knee. The only times I have had to use my emergency poly bag is playing in the snow. Any chance of you filming a rapid descent of a suitable slope with a good run out. It can be exhilarating and save some walking. A new dimension to your filming, head first would save the knee. Gerry if free would make an excellent sled!
Christ Murray that was hard work and I was only watching.great content as always.I’ve had arthritis in my knee for 27 years I take 20 mags on c.b.d.oil every morning and it really helps.plus I am up and down steps six days a week.plus I take turmeric every day.works for me..keep on keeping on.
Great filming. I am stuck indoors with severe back pain and missing walking / cycling. In fact, I am missing even the domestic chores such as I can't do anything much. An MRI is being done tomorrow to try to get a diagnosis. I don't do high mountain routes but love to see what you film on your trips. This was a test for your knee right enough. Breaking trail is tough. Hopefully your physiotherapist will get you on a gradual exercise programme to get your knee issue completely resolved.
Thanks Jimmy - hope you get your back issues sorted soon. I have been seeing a physio for a few months now (in fact made the appointment directly after this climb!!). Working hard on the knee and keeping my fingers crossed Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Nice work Murray. That looked tough going but glorious 👍🏼 I watch your videos regularly and have gotten used to the great production. But it really is superb. Love those slow slight pan/zoom shots as you do as you walk past cam. If you don’t mind me asking; what do you use for post production? Cheers Gary.
Walking in deep snow is so tiring..I think I felt every step It seems your knee feels it more coming down..more weight pressure going down. Beautifully filmed..like always Take care and rest the knee 🇨🇦 ❤️
Another inspirational episode👍🏻 I hope you have a good physiotherapist to guide you through your recovery? A good physio is worth their weight in gold. Take care👍🏻
Thanks Phil - had two appointments with the physio so far and busy on my exercise routine she has given me ! its hard work!! lol Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Sorry to hear that your knee hasn’t fully recovered. It will if you rest it. ;) Great view of the road to the Isles from the top of Ben Vrackie though. :)
11/10 there mate, pure perseverance 🦵💪, shame the knee pained you on the way down. Great pieces to camera, did you throw your camera in order to make it look like you hadn't left track marks in the snow? You did that pretty perfectly haha. The summit shot was amazing, so clear and blue, with a haze too, stunning. Great video, hope the knee gets sorted, gonna look at 'knees over toes guy' for my own issues, I'll let you know any results haha. Top job mate🏞💪🤘
Fantastic views and colours, looks spectacular. Hope your knee gets better, there's a gel called ketoprofen which is one of the stronger ones which helps my arthritis, but you can only get it off your g p
have you tried kinesiology tape for your knee ? Working wonders alongside knee supports, Ibuprofen gel - industrial strength and cortisone injections. I also bought some work braces for my Rab trousers with super clamps from Amazon - worked all day and stayed on overnight in my bivibag
Cheers Dave - my physio has given me KT tape and shown me how to strap up for my knee so will be trying it out at the weekend as its been over 4 weeks of physio and no hills so time to test the knee again this weekend I think :) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Beautiful video but a real bummer about your knee pain. I suppose the deep snow did not help, with all the extra effort you had to put in. Take it gently.
I should've taken my snow shoes but wasn't expecting as much snow TBH (I wish I had them with me though now!!lol Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Great channel btw! Being from New England and avid hikers, it's fun to see totally different terrain and beautiful Scottish landscape. My gr. Grandfather immigrated from Scotland to New England in the late 1800's. Regards
Hi Murray, great video it will get better eventually, for me with my knees I'm a big believer in keeping the old knees moving or they stiffen up too much, you are not alone.! BTW What was the substantial headtorch you were using? Cheers.
Hi John - I think keeping it moving is the way forward :) I got the head torch from Amazon many moons ago - afraid I cannot remember the brand and it doesn’t say it on the torch 😫 sorry I can’t give more info :( Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Are you being sponsored by Irn Bru when you are wearing the orange and blue gear? Great video and my knee was howling in sympathy with you. Waiting for a physios appointment myself.
Hi Murray...check out CHASE MOUNTAINS as he has loads of tips/advice/stretching exercises and a free strengthening program specifically for knee pain when hiking.
Hi Murray brilliant video,I too am suffering with some knee pain,I feel your pain literally lol, could you tell me the model of trousers you were wearing and the size thanks
Hi Darrell - the orange troosers are Revolution Race :) Pretty decent - infact I have just purchased a second pair in Blue!! Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Despite the knee problems it’s a grand piece of video. I’m sorry your knee didn’t hold up but it might just be that breaking the trail through the snow was too much of an ask first time out. Zero to 100 mph if you will - and if that’s sounds judgemental, it’s not meant to be as I’m often accused of doing the same thing. Currently trying to get back after having a new hip replaced and climbed Helvellyn in the snow the other week, fist big climb in over two years. Made it but it took several days to get over it! Actually new hip was fine and dandy but the rest of me may need tearing down and replacing! Fingers crossed a bit of slightly more sedate adventuring will see your knee fully restored. PS. What’s the verdict on the Turmeric?
Thanks Ian - I am guilty as charged on that one - however have now had a break from the hills for over a month and well into physio so time to test it out again hopefully :) The tumeric and probably more so the Moringa has been great (more for my elbow and back issues which have disappeared!) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Well might give em a go. My only worry is I’m taking so many tablets these days I’ll sound like a set of maracas approaching! Fingers crossed all goes well on your next adventure!
Hi - afraid I don’t hold the relevant qualifications for this but there are many great mountain guides out there who do this professionally and you can learn load from them - I highly recommend Mike Arkley from Moubtain and sea guide ms in Applecross if you are anyway near there 👍
The man who can show Scotland's mountainscapes sharing the same top drawer as the world's finest. Years of lugging all that filming equipment for our benefit can't have done you any favours. Too much too soon perhaps Murray? Knees take time. Maybe that snow walking was asking a lot. Be fully better before long I'm sure. Re braces, you might want to convert to button-on braces from the clip fastenings which generally pop off under strain. There's no need to get specialist hiking braces - regular ones are fine, and all you have to do is sew the buttons onto your trousers.
Well done. After having bad gout for 20 years, a near fatal heart attack in 2019, and now diagnosed with agonising Fibromyalgia to add to 2 worn discs by driving a train for 30 years I'm struggling, not just physically but mentally too. Healing prayers going out to you!

Great video, fantastic dawn colour. Pretty hard test on your knee with all that snow however in time you will surely get there.
Another great video Murray.
Stunning colours and views. 👏🙏😎
I love my Wednesday evening fix of your mountain adventures. I hope the knee gets better soon.

Done it with my girfriend last october, forest part was outsdanding in autumn lots of colours. Great video as always♥
Fantastic winter conditions and a good test for your knee. Hope it improves. Thanks for sharing.
Another wonderful video, thank you. I hope the knee improves soon, take care.
Super enjoyable. Takes the mind away from the everyday. I hope your knee gets better soon.

Great filming and stills as usual Murray. Can't help thinking you were pushing your knee a bit too soon? I hope I'm wrong and it's much improved now. Yeah, I bought a pair of the Rab braces for my Paramo pants and added four wee loops to the waist - worked a treat. ATB 😎
Thanks Ian - I am with you on that - if the snow hadn't been too deep I reckon it may have been a bit easier but I should've known better than to push on through the deep stuff!! rest was required not swimming through snow!!lol

Spectacular view Murray, take care of that knee. I always tape both knees before a big day out. Prefer tape to a elastic bandage for 2 reasons, they always slip down and the tightness bothers me behind the knee after a few hours. Anyways whatever suits you, take care ATB
Thanks Darrell, the videos usually run about a month behind due to work commitments , life etc etc!! got some updates in the pipeline regards the knee - KT being one of them :)

Haha - not sure I would remember how to even switch the iron on ;) lol
I usually watch your videos on the telly, and haven't yet figured out how to sign in and like or whatever. Us old guys aren't happy with technology. I probably just watch most stuff on the computer with a mouse and a comfy desk seat. Take care out there.
I'm with you on that one Ed -I have not figured out how to leave comments when watching on the TV either !!lol

Thanks John - I hope the weather shines for your visit to Scotland - have a great time when you get here:)

@@ScotlandsMountains Thank you Murray, I am sure I will :)
Thanks - the braces are great (when I have them on correctly lol) I just use a rode mic for the voice overs when editing on powerdirector - a pretty simple set up TBH :)

Thanks Tony - hope your shoulder get back to 100% soon too

I thought you were just going to do a big bumslide all the way down! Hope the knee heals soon.
Wonderful light! Thanks for sharing and good luck with your recovery.
I wear braces when my piriformis muscle flares up (a belt inhibits the hip rotation I do to release the nerve). One tip, though. Avoid wearing a checked shirt (plaid) with those braces. The 'I'm a lumberjack' song you will hear repeatedly throughout the day
from friends, family and general passers by loses much of its appeal by the 20th listen.
Now I am definetely going to go for the lumberjack look - away to buy a tartan shirt 😉😂

I love your vids buddy, hope your knee can build some strength soon.
Another great video ,essential viewing 👌
Thanks - I am now seeing a physio and undergoing a excercise program - also she gave me Kt tape to try out on next hike - fingers crossed it works 🤞

Hope the knees improves soon.
the mountain will always be there for your return - a wise move to return another day if the conditions were a little challenging :)

Know the feeling Murray. Been struggling with my knee since last summer. Old age doesn't come easy lol.
Got everything crossed for you Murray, hope that knee mends up properly, fantastic video again.
Mete, that look very, very hard work...even if you had two bionic knees! But those conditions were just amazing.
Indeed it was - I maybe over did it for a come back hill in the deep snow on this one!!lol
I’m another Tumeric extract convert - I can also highly recommend Moringa - the latter has done wonders for my back and elbow issues too 👌👌👍
I have arthritis in two knees. I am 62. I found using two sticks helps me. I see you use two sticks. Oh and driving an automatic car helps as well.
Working hard on the knee and keeping my fingers crossed

Nice work Murray.
That looked tough going but glorious 👍🏼
I watch your videos regularly and have gotten used to the great production. But it really is superb. Love those slow slight pan/zoom shots as you do as you walk past cam.
If you don’t mind me asking; what do you use for post production?
Cheers
Gary.
Hi Gary - I use powerdirector to edit all my videos 👍
PS thanks for the nice comment - much appreciated
Walking in deep snow is so tiring..I think I felt every step
It seems your knee feels it more coming down..more weight pressure going down.
Beautifully filmed..like always
Take care and rest the knee 🇨🇦 ❤️
Hi Sue - you are correct it’s the downward hike that gives me the knee pain :( hoping physio will help it tho

Another inspirational episode👍🏻 I hope you have a good physiotherapist to guide you through your recovery? A good physio is worth their weight in gold. Take care👍🏻
Thanks Phil - had two appointments with the physio so far and busy on my exercise routine she has given me ! its hard work!! lol

Hi mate I hope your knee pain gets better
Sorry to hear that your knee hasn’t fully recovered. It will if you rest it. ;) Great view of the road to the Isles from the top of Ben Vrackie though. :)
Wow! Spectacular alpenglow color! ‘Regret not taking snowshoes? 😊
Just a wee bit 😂😂
11/10 there mate, pure perseverance 🦵💪, shame the knee pained you on the way down. Great pieces to camera, did you throw your camera in order to make it look like you hadn't left track marks in the snow? You did that pretty perfectly haha.
The summit shot was amazing, so clear and blue, with a haze too, stunning. Great video, hope the knee gets sorted, gonna look at 'knees over toes guy' for my own issues, I'll let you know any results haha.
Top job mate🏞💪🤘
Thanks Paul - camera placement when there is snow on the ground takes a bit of wizardry ;)lol

Fantastic views and colours, looks spectacular. Hope your knee gets better, there's a gel called ketoprofen which is one of the stronger ones which helps my arthritis, but you can only get it off your g p

Interesting to see you breaking trail… Ive never seen that before ..
Only because you weren’t there to do it for me 😫
😂😂get used to it .. my knees sore too now!!
have you tried kinesiology tape for your knee ? Working wonders alongside knee supports, Ibuprofen gel - industrial strength and cortisone injections. I also bought some work braces for my Rab trousers with super clamps from Amazon - worked all day and stayed on overnight in my bivibag
Cheers Dave - my physio has given me KT tape and shown me how to strap up for my knee so will be trying it out at the weekend as its been over 4 weeks of physio and no hills so time to test the knee again this weekend I think :)

Beautiful video but a real bummer about your knee pain. I suppose the deep snow did not help, with all the extra effort you had to put in. Take it gently.
No snowshoes? Post holing is frowned upon in the States. But I guess we have distinct trails in our mountains and the holes can't be avoided..
I should've taken my snow shoes but wasn't expecting as much snow TBH (I wish I had them with me though now!!lol

Great channel btw! Being from New England and avid hikers, it's fun to see totally different terrain and beautiful Scottish landscape.
My gr. Grandfather immigrated from Scotland to New England in the late 1800's.

Hi Murray, great video it will get better eventually, for me with my knees I'm a big believer in keeping the old knees moving or they stiffen up too much, you are not alone.! BTW What was the substantial headtorch you were using?
Cheers.
Hi John - I think keeping it moving is the way forward :) I got the head torch from Amazon many moons ago - afraid I cannot remember the brand and it doesn’t say it on the torch 😫 sorry I can’t give more info :(

Are you being sponsored by Irn Bru when you are wearing the orange and blue gear? Great video and my knee was howling in sympathy with you. Waiting for a physios appointment myself.
Now I need to buy some bru to drink on next video when I am wearing this kit 😉😉😂😂
그것은 멋진 광경이다. 나는 그 비디오를 보는 것을 즐겼다. 좋은 영상이에요. 나도 따뜻한 커피한잔 마셔야겠다.^^
Hi Murray...check out CHASE MOUNTAINS as he has loads of tips/advice/stretching exercises and a free strengthening program specifically for knee pain when hiking.
Chase's channel is excellent. Doing his stretch routines got me though the CWT injury free. 😁

Beautiful views, thanks.
Boring question; what brand was the torch you used ?
Thanks you - the torch was off amazon and doesnt have a brand written on it and I cant find the origional order as it was years ago I got it !!sorry
@@ScotlandsMountains Thanks anyway. If you have any tips for recovering from a dodgy knee I would be interested.
Hey Murray, have you been go to ortopedic or physioterapist for knee pain?
Hi - yes - currently going through a physio program - updates en route :)

Thanks Ian - I am guilty as charged on that one - however have now had a break from the hills for over a month and well into physio so time to test it out again hopefully :) The tumeric and probably more so the Moringa has been great (more for my elbow and back issues which have disappeared!)

Well might give em a go. My only worry is I’m taking so many tablets these days I’ll sound like a set of maracas approaching! Fingers crossed all goes well on your next adventure!
Would you ever take a novice up the snow covered hills with you? Am keen but lack experience
Great video. Pity about your knee, maybe surgery is the way to go
Hoping not - but going through a physio program at the moment - if that doesn’t work then you maybe right :(
