Your are 💯 right about the effects of marijuana and alcohol not only with schizophrenia but other types of mental illnesses. It needs to be avoided.

That's personal preference. Some people with depression or with anxiety disorders tell it helps them. It comes generally with a risk as it IS psychedelic in nature. Not as strong as LSD and shrooms, but it IS psychedelic. So it can definitely trigger psychosis in a small percentage of users.

I used to smoke about 3 grams a day plus 500mg edibles. Now, for some reason, if I have one puff, I feel like I’m going to die. It sucks because it was helping my depression, but I guess it alters your brain like you said

I dont have the diagonsis but paranoid schizophrenia runs in my family and I quit weed some time ago because the high just ended in total paranoia, especially body wise but also severe anxiety about scenarios I played in my head like what if we were attacked by an atom bomb right now and stuff.
I do miss the laughing alot tho and how every video game got 10 times more fun

Here is the greatest quote you’ll ever hear on this comment section. “The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight.”

It's nice that you share your experiences and you are very smart to be able to distinguish what you experience from reality, that's great that you have learned that. You have great way of talking and I think you could be a great support to people who experience such difficulties, I'm sure there are support programs to learn more and for it to be your profession possibly. Weed definetly impact everyone to different degrees, if I smoke over extended period like 2-4 weeks I start becoming depressed and anxious, therefore I stopped smoking, it's not really something that someone might need.

I smoke weed for my schizophrenia. You need to smoke half a gram or more a day so you don't get too high.

STFU. It's a psychoactive substance. I met an ER doctor in Florida. That has patients come in with extreme nausea. For some people the cannabis starts having paradoxical effects and actually causes nausea instead of curing it. It's called Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. These moronic patients say stupid things like that. They can't comprehend that medical marijuana is making them sick.
