53. How my MENTAL HEALTH convinced me PORTUGAL is HOME - Mandy’s Story -

  • Having a history of ADHD and PTSD and recently being given a diagnosis of Autism, Mandy gave up everything she knew of ‘normal’ life for the sake of her sanity.
She knew she was not managing her traditional ‘9am - 5pm’ life, and then with the out break of Covid, she knew she could spiral down into a deeper, darker place. Mandy had to rely on herself and make changes for herself and that’s exactly what she did.
You may have reacted differently, but quietly and without realising, the universe had been calling out to Mandy. Giving gentle, subtle hints, directing her back to the only place she had ever been truly happy. Portugal.
Sometimes you have to give up everything, to find out what’s important. Giving up ‘stuff’ can be easy, but would you give up daily access to your family, to live as the best version of yourself?
Sometimes, in the giving up of things that’s when we find out what truly matters, where lifes real pleasures are, and what fills our mind with peace and calm.
After spending only a few hours with Mandy, I feel I had a glimpse into her way forward and into her plan for a much more fulfilled way of life.
Please keep an open mind and watch to the end, as we’ve all lived part of this story, whether we acknowledge it or not. Thank you and enjoy.

When people move to a more country area they often want the country with the city convene.... it happens everywhere.
It was very brave to pack up and move during covid.

I just saw that in her brandnew video Mandy seems to be very desperate at the moment thinking of giving up everything. She has no water on her property, she has to move somewhere else because of that and obviously financial problems too.... So maybe among those who have seen this video here may be someone who can offer some help of any kind ?? I wish her all the best! ❤🙏🏻

Mandy is definitely a warrior it is certainly what I would want. I get when she says when you move to another country and another culture you have to embrace it, it is such a pity that immigrants who come to Britain don’t embrace our culture instead of expecting to bring there culture with them, such as killing our pond ducks and eating them that isn’t what we do.❤️❤️❤️

I very much enjoyed your visit with Mandy. I only recently started watching her vlogs, so it was nice to hear more of her backstory in this one sitting. It compliments the bits she shares on her different vlogs. Despite whatever challenges, Mandy keeps her forward momentum and is very resourceful, handy, and knowledgeable.
Darren, loofahs are edible when they're young and tender... before they get stringy and stringier then dry completely and can be harvested to use as the cleaning implements we know.
    Well done, all 🤗.

great interview :D and some jobs aren't just job... it's tyranni by some people that think they are high on a horse... but in the end we are all just humans... so glad I no longer work...
still counting down for the move to Portugal :D can only go too slowly
I like how you split up the interview too so you each have your part :D works great

The tender sponge gourd or loofah is used as a vegetable in many Southeast Asian cuisines. We call it Turai in India

Good on Elaine making these important decisions. Animals are the best for helping people recover and maintain good mental health. My husband and daughter are in the spectrum, animals help our daughter communicate. Lockdown was hard enough for everyone let alone those with challenges. Good on her.
