  • In 2022, the world's biggest airplane, the Antonov A225 Mriya, was completely destroyed by Russian forces during their attack on Ukraine. The damage was so bad that many thought this would be the last time we'd hear about this giant plane from the Cold War. However, the Ukrainian government decided not to let it become just a part of history. They're planning to bring the A225 back, here's why.

Economic rality means that main competitors for production of An-225 class aircraft are Airbus and Boeing. Who dare to chalenge them? Richard Branson is a practical and realistic man, not an idealist who appreciate symbolic values.

Check your audio - You keep calling this the A225, BUT it is the "AN225"!! You keep forgetting the "N"!!!

Emotional, Nostalgic and/or Symbolic significance are never going to be enough to pay the bills. If there is no market for what this aircraft can do, there is no aircraft. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with any attempt to revive such an important airplane, but everyone involved had better be 1000 percent convinced of success or it could very well sink the company. I'm hoping the US Government sees it as a good future investment. They are one of the few with the kind of deep pockets required.

Tell me why the russians weren't given mortar or artillery support during the hostemmel raid? The Ukrainians were given artillery. Even though no russians troops were nowhere near the AN-225 when it was destroyed. But your western information know more than facts.

    Terrible voice-over script.

It is, but they're only rebuilding it because they've got the stock to repair the costs. Blaming the russians during the hostemmel airport raid saying the russians used artillery and mortars. None of which were reported or used by russians, and the Ukrainians only had artillery support.
