The PD-14 seems like it has the potential to be a decent engine, but outside of the Russian market it's not going to have much impact. It seems unlikely at this point that anything other than the MS-21 and possibly the IL-400M will make use of it - and neither of those aircraft are likely to pick up much in the way of sales. The MS-21 would make sense for Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea etc. but none of them have expressed an interest 0 Iran seems happier to go with the grey market, and Cuba has found it's better off leasing Airbuses units through third parties out of Europe than running Russian equipment of it's own, given UAC's utter inability to provide timely parts and service support overseas. I wouldn't be suprised in North Korea looks at doing something similar via Chinese companies, or even just using chinese kit like the MA-60 and C919 owned via a Macau shell company to ensure a parts/service supply for the remaining western components in them.

So they found a problem and solved it by replacing the damaged parts with brand new ones without figuring out the cause of the problem and only pray to god that the new parts don't break. Only a fool 'solves' a problem by recreating the initial conditions that lead to a major failure thinking it won't happen again.

United Airlines is just beginning to see the same light that Delta Airlines experienced a decade earlier. Boeing does not care about its customers. Delta airlines plane and begged for going to build a replacement for the 757 for years, but they would never ever produce it. That's why Delta. Went to airbus for their next planes. The same thing as happening here with United. If boeing aircraft does not fix its service issues, They may lose more customers. Then comes either an airbus monopoly or a taxpayers funded Boeing bail out. Either scenario are no good.
