I think a key thing is to recognise and understand what's happening, and sharing helps. I had two ocassions in my life, one where I kept fainting. I finally went to see a doc, explained what was happening and they asked me to explain my typical week. So go out Thursday night, come back Monday morning, go to lectures, repeat. Doc just asked when I ate & slept. Second time was a bit more serious when I discovered the joys of depression. That's insidious and creeps up on you. In hindsight, it should have been obvious what was happening, but I couldn't see it at the time. Same with anxiety, first recognise you're anxious about , then it's a lot easier to try and figure out what to do, whether that's asking for help, taking some 'me' time, or I guess in Chris's case, maybe pushing back on some of his producers.

I don't know man. I have super intense patience for puzzles as well. Both physical puzzles and oldschool adventure games that I could sometimes sit on a puzzle for a solid day before solving it. But that's also because I enjoy it and want to do it, lol. I'm not quite as patient with things I don't enjoy like real life stress. It's not fun.
13:38 my husband and I suffered depression most of our lives. Most people are afraid to address it, and that creates a false sense of reality for most people when they are watching their favorite influencers. They wonder often why their life sucks and their favorite influencers never go through anything difficult (which isn't the case).I'm glad you did
Chris, I'm diagnosed with anxiety and PTSD...disabled veteran. I'm also 55, and getting back into magic after years. Just wanted to let you know that watching you is one of the most uplifting parts of my day. Rock on my brother. You are too cool.

I feel ya, bro! I've been dealing with clinical depression and anxiety for over a decade and it's gotten worse in the last year. Keep on keeping on! You got this and your success just shows how much your hard work is paying off. The anxiety is normal in your situation, you just have to learn how to manage it and it seems you're doing the right things. Always easier said than done, but try not to stress over how often you post videos. We'll still be here. Cheers!

I think you're awesome anyway but when you opened up about anxiety and stuff, it made you ever more endearing. I can totally relate to what you're experiencing and with support it does get slightly easier. I'd offer to give you a reassuring hug to let you know how special you are and that everything will be ok. You make a lot of us viewers very happy and I'm sure every single one of us would love to be your friend.

Thanks for mentioning the anxiety you’ve been experiencing. I’ve been having really bad anxiety issues the last couple months, so I’m going to a new type of therapy to see if it’s just some old trauma reading its head and if a different program might help. It’s validating to hear from others going through the same stuff, because having multiple random panic attacks a week has not been the greatest and that stuff can make you feel really self conscious and isolated.

appreciate you adding to the trend of making discussion of mental struggles normal! I know this was uploaded a while ago, but going thru and catching up on some I missed and felt compelled to send in case anyone else is needing the reminder, too. Mental illness of any variety is incredibly common and needs attention as much as any other illness we may suffer from. We all have our struggles individually, but coming together to help carry some of the weight is not only smart, but...well..right. thank you, sir, and hope you and yours are well
Hey Chris, I started watching your puzzle videos during my lunch time since one year and watching them made me calm down. My girlfriend suffers from agoraphobia and claustrophobia for more than a decade with ups and downs. She was always afraid of suffocating. What her helped was decreasing the energy that put her fear into death by dancing Zumba or move her body intensive to music. In the beginning, it was hard for her, because her heartbeat increases during dancing. But a few weeks later, she began to build up more and more endurance. Now, when she recognizes, her fear potential rises again, she starts to move her body to music she loves untill she sweats, to bring down the neg. energy, before the energy turns against herself again. I wish you all the best 🙋🏻♂️ Marcus

Love your honesty man. Keep up the good work and don't stress posting videos every week. You've already created a loyal following we're not going anywhere.
Anxiety is a very real thing, no matter how "trivial" others may believe it to be. What one person is capable of coping with is not universal with others and it's just as easy to be anxious about being overwhelmed as it is being underwhelmed. Your anxieties are your own, only you know what you're capable of handling and it's no one else's business or right to claim you could be doing more. Much love to you and all others dealing with the stress of these hard times and thank you for putting out videos that help us escape our own lives for 30 minutes at a time.
A co-worker of mine taught me a grounding exercise when I get anxiety attacks. I put both feet on the ground, take a deep breath and ask What are 5 things you can see in front of you right now? What are 3 things you hear right now? What are 3 things you can feel right now? It distracts the brain when you are having an anxiety attack. Also taking deep breath’s, close your eyes and telling yourself “let myself rest” until you feel calm helps!

You are too cool.
may your journey back into magic be a wonderful experience my Dad is about the same age as you i wish you all the best in life
@@iamrufaro5395 Thank you my friend. That truly inspires me.
My grampa was a veteran I miss him and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done for your country

Its heartwarming to see you people that went through so much things, came here watching videos like this. Hope you have great and beautiful life sir❤

The intros are pretty sick, yeah
"Right now my camera's actually sitting in..."
lol, I don't think there was anyone on the planet that would have guessed the rest of that sentence was "a bowl of nuts."
Take a vacation homie, the world and people will still want you when you return.
Sadly, TH-camrs can’t take breaks. Algorithms really mess them up if they don’t continuously upload. He would lose a lot of followers.
@@jaja-2740 thats just false man and its dangerous to make that idea known when people are overworking and developing depression and anxiety trying to "keep" up with the demand. The demand will always be here as long as the content is good. Chris D'elia took 9 months off and is getting the same if not more views than when he left. Plenty of content creators take a week or two off and pick up right where they left off.
@@LPJMagicmusic I know it’s awful. I wasn’t condoning it, but that’s just how it is. I completely agree that he should take time off if he needs, but TH-cam the corporation makes it difficult for creators to do so.

Agree. Chris looked so defeated in this video. Take a vacation bro
Stay strong man! You're an inspiration to, literally, millions and even the best of us can suffer with aniexty and such. It's good to talk about it and addressing it on your video will help people see that it's completely natural and it doesn't matter how much money or fame you have, anyone can still feel overwhelmed. I love watching your videos bro, I think you're absolutely bang on pal and I hope things get a lil less stressful soon for ya! Big love from Yorkshire.
Hearing about what you're going through doesn't bore us. Don't say that. We are strangers but the people here genuinely care for you. Stay healthy and take as many breaks as you need ❤
100% agree.
Agree. ❤️
Brother, you're one of the most real and humble people I follow on TH-cam, even with such a massive fan base. At the end of the day, you're human and you shouldn't feel like you need to refrain from (or apologize for) sharing things that are going on.
Are you kidding me? This dude is a fraud my guy. Doesn't give a dam about his fans .. onky what can make him some bread. That simple. He barely cares about his "friends".
@@t.r4849 ur a sad person
You're amazing, Chris. Genuinely such a honest, humble guy. I feel like you'd be a great best friend. Hope you're doing better. I know shit’s really hard, and anxiety can get overwhelming. Especially when you're expected to work and perform on top of that.
Anyway, you're great. Thanks for all you do
You never have to apologize for taking the time to explain something that you didn't have to share. You explaining and sharing with your viewers a little bit about what you are going could actually save someone's life.
You are one a many youtuber's I watch, and you are by far the most sincere. I hope this comment finds you well and just know; everything happens for a reason.
Thank you for being yourself and sharing with your community!

Thank you for being brave and candid about anxiety. I too suffer from this, and it is comforting to hear others talk about it.
Thank you for being so candid. It means a lot, and more people should feel comfortable doing so. Love all the content keep it up 👍
Thank you for everything you do Chris! Love the tattoos, the videos, the magic, the merch, the puzzles, everything. You should know that you are loved by your followers and we are here for you! I hope you are able to take some time to yourself without the weight of everything on your shoulders. I truly love what you do and admire how you strive to make your fans happy. Hang in there! :)
Cheers!
But I think posting vids is therapeutic for him
try psychedelic therapy, read about studies made on shrooms helping with healing depression!
@@acid_healer I've heard of that, but haven't really considered it, but will look into it more. Thanks!
Don't worry about not being active on your youtube chanel, we get it if you are currently working on other projects and if you need some time off. Can't wait for bigtrickenergy! New merch looks dope btw!!!
"It's normal if you're going through this as well."
So many people are, but it needs to be said more. Thanks for letting yourself be vulnerable.

The almost opposite has already been written by Richard A Harris and talks about transactional analysis.
Please do. And tell me when you finish 🙏🏿🙏🏿
I agree
Hey Chris. I absolutely love your videos. I like how you think both outside the box and inside the box when solving the puzzles. I'd love the chance to just sit and talk to you. I think you're awesome anyway but when you opened up about anxiety and stuff, it made you ever more endearing. I can totally relate to what you're experiencing and with support it does get slightly easier. I'd offer to give you a reassuring hug to let you know how special you are and that everything will be ok.
I've suffered plenty of heartache and stuff in life and struggled but partly got answers when I was diagnosed as being autistic.
Keep up the good work dude. You make a lot of us viewers very happy and I'm sure every single one of us would love to be your friend.

@MrBenjamin 9409 I’m embarrassed to say but same
Chris, yes we come watch for the content, it in the end YOU are what makes this channel something. If you’re not doing well then the channel isn’t doing well, regardless of how many vids u post. Don’t worry about us man, we’re it going anywhere and we’re more than willing to wait for you to be at your best. Stoked for the new merch dude, take your time and do your thing. God bless man!
I'm happy you took time for yourself. I'd much rather you make quality content, when you can, while being happy and healthy, than push yourself and burn out. I think your fan-base is established enough to say that we aren't going anywhere, whenever you need more breaks in the future. Take care of yourself, man.
Hey Chris, thank you for this video. The brake you took part way through the solve actually spoke to me during a really hard time in my life. Thank you for being vulnerable. Thank you for being a real person. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for making the videos, man! It's totally cool to take time between videos to take care of you and the mental health, anxiety is no joke. Keep your head up and sending the good vibes over!!
My thoughts are with you Chris, I have had to deal with anxiety as well and its hard to work through some times but as long as your family and Friends are with you it all gets better x
Thanks to sharing something so personal never suffered with anxiety till at age 40 dec 19th 2020 and I had a very bad heart attack!!!! Its so difficult to deal with and it good to see not just someone with a platform but also a man as I feel it’s not talked about enough so Thankyou
I feel you on the anxiety, that can be scary when your heart starts racing and you don't know why, best to talk about like you did, well done it can be hard
Having you come out and telling us about your problems makes me feel better about how I am feeling. Thank you so very much!!! I really hope you start feeling more serene.
I was actually thinking "spin it upright", and when you did that, I thought "did you just read my mind?", and then you said "thanks for that suggestion" 🤯😁

I suffer from anxiety!! But believe it or not watching your channel learning new things an the work you put into magic an puzzles calms my mind so thank you for that it helps me
Dude, don’t stress on this. It is good to have you back, but I would say the best part of the video was you saying you are providing jobs for your projects. That is the greatest kindness.
Man, I usually just skip things that interrupt my viewing pleasure (like ads and sponsorship and long tangents), but man, I just appreciate Chris so much that I would gladly listen so him just talk. I especially appreciate him when he shares his troubles with us humble viewers, really makes me feel like a confidante.

I'm terrible at puzzles, therefore I live vicariously through Chris.... well done again
Hahahahha same! I like other types of puzzles, but these type were you pull apart and all are for sure not my jam XD
Hey Chris congrats on the new series man. It looks amazing so far. I can't wait till April so I can fully see it. Keep up the good work and keep these videos coming man. Me and my 7 year old love you.
Hey man, you don’t ever have to apologize for being human. I think it’s a good thing to share this stuff with your fans. I have also had anxiety issues and dealing with some right now as a matter of fact. Your true fans care about you and I believe WANT to hear things like this. It’s really personal and it’s really awesome that you DO share this stuff with us. It adds more to your videos. That’s just my opinion. I’m loving all these awesome vids you share! You’ve totally gotten me back into magic and I’m thrilled about it! I’ve purchased some new tricks and a bunch of new decks of cards. So thanks man! I hope your anxiety subsides! Good luck! 👍
You’ve put out hundreds of hours of stress relief content for others. You can do whatever you gotta do bro

Glad you’re back, but always take time for your self health! Much respect keep up the hard work :) hoping to check out the show!
appreciate you adding to the trend of making discussion of mental struggles normal!
I wish you all the best 🙋🏻♂️

Dude, when are you going to start directing movies? You're intro's are just getting better and better. Your filming is next level.

Thank you so very much for sharing in this manner Chris. You have been a big inspiration to me. You’ve helped me, not only tap back into my inner child and make him my best friend again, but also my Uber genius. In which I believe we all have, if we know how to look of course. I’ve also been a fan of yours since you solved the lotus puzzle with the coin in it for the first time. I have struggled with anxiety my entire life, and if I’m having a bad day your encouraging, positive, funny, and clever perspective on puzzle solving will always turn that around for me and I am sure every single one of your subscribers can relate. So again you are appreciated for sharing in this way 100%. Peace and Love.
I’m having really bad anxiety today. I usually watch youtube videos to help ease my mind at times. I mainly like watching your videos to help with this. Which after what you just said about anxiety. Thank you for addressing the anxiety. Really appreciate someone "bigger" on youtube that is open and normalizes it. I also love that you're one of the few who voices your symptoms, had I seen this video two years ago I probably wouldn't of had to waste $1,000 on an ER visit to be told I'm not having a heart attack, I'm just anxious. US healthcare sucks. Keep being awesome, keep being real and yourself. Good luck with your hectic schedule and take a longer holiday when you're finished filming

As someone who deals with anxiety and depressive issues as well it's good to see you take time as you need. We all love you here.
As someone who also suffers from anxiety, and a fellow magician, I just want to say that your honesty is so welcome. It allows others to realize we all go through issues. We're only human and it's ok to share that. Hearing your story helps me as I can all but relate to that so much. I'll leave you and others with a quote that has helped me so much. "Why stare at the fence that NEVER changes, when you can look up at the sunrise that ALWAYS does." Best to you and I wish everyone much calmness and peace.
This brought me back to the og vids with the analog timer

Good seeing you again - you were missed. But, Chris, you seriously need to listen to your body - it sounds like you’re doing too much and your body is telling you so. Take care of yourself.

No need to feel that you're complaining. The past year has been overwhelming on so many levels. Thanks for sharing your experience. We can all relate and support each other. Anxiety and depression suck! I've been dealing with both for the past six months to the point I've had to take time off work. I'm glad you're doing OK and bringing attention to a subject that is so personal and so universal.

My guess (based on the fact that I've seen it done so often) is that it is something to do with relative size.
@@philgallagher1 There's a black line painted around at least 2 of the sides of the box that at least somewhat hides the smaller size of the bar. It's pretty obvious if you're looking for it.
@@Tahgtahv Yes. I'm sure the same trick was used in a TV advert here in the UK a few years ago, trying to make it look like you got extra chocolate in a bar or something.
The instructions of exactly where to make the cuts in the chocolate bar and how to make the boxes are widely available all over the internet!
It's still a great trick (?) amply demonstrated by Chris!!
Yeah, lately I too have been having anxiety and mild panic attacks. When they come it is incredibly difficult sometimes to wait through them. It's a really intense experience but anyone can get through them. All the best to you. You are so strong to be taking the steps to overcoming your anxiety. Trust me I completely and 1000000% understand what you’re going through. I’m literally just only 20yrs old and I’m already getting those heart palpitations. Tbh because of how much stress my body has went through ever since I was born basically(what I mean is as early as I can remember) I’ve been stressed and semi depressed but obviously not as clinical as it is now. I just want you to know to keep fighting cause shiii I’m struggling at 19 rn. Like my body shows signs of being healthy when they do tests but I feel like somethings off. Not only mentally anymore but physically. Just please stay strong man. This is the first comment I’ve ever made on TH-cam.
Just wanted to say that we appreciate you. You’re an absolute gem of a human being.
anxiety is never good thing, talking about it can be a good thing, take some time off and ease off for a bit when you feel like that.
Chris: I haven't been in front of a camera for a while.
Me: But you have been filming a TV show...
Chris, I recommend a book called 'the body keeps the score' -- like everybody else said, please don't apologize for taking care of yourself. I don't usually comment but I watch your videos to destress and before I sleep and you've been a very big comfort (I'm sure a lot of other people feel the same way). We totally understand what you're going through and we won't disappear just because of a lull in upload frequency-- you aren't a content farm, you're Chris! You're awesome :) It's okay to slow down!

Is that chocolate bar, like the infinite chocolate bar thing ive seen you can do, but precut?
Yep, but the opposite as the bonus piece is already included
I think this comment will hold in the top 5 comments just because of the words "infinite chocolate"
Seems like a magnet would help solving the blue one.
The way he was holding it made it a lot harder. He kept holding it with a point of the triangle down, making it so that pin could always fall directly out. Tilting each corner up, one at a time, gets the pins to go in.
Or a chain saw... 😉
