Ιωάννης Χ There has been paid for this review. This is called advertising. That probably also explains the strange remark about easy getting out, through the frameless doors. With the exception of its great technology, you have to dig deep for something positive about this car. Sleep on.

Nothing BMW does these days makes sense.
I'd say I don't agree then I thought front wheel drive, slower than the last model and like the audi a3 limousine/saloon it makes no sense when there's an a4/.. Bmw 3 series or mercedes. Thing is they are getting bigger yet its the small one lol. Just too top it off the 3 series looks way better.

But these new bmw generations have to much of what feminds me of japanese design assets, definitely not the traditional bmw design language

@@danpatrick5944 Look at the 4-Series or 6-series Gran Coupe. They don't look bloated at all. It's probably difficult to make a 4-door car of this size as slimlined though. They should've just made it the new 1-series sedan. It looks almost identical to the previous one.
They made the front shorter and higher to fit the transversal engine for FWD.
This is based on the new 1 series, it's basically just a sedan version of it to compete with the CLA and Audi A3 sedan

I really like the new X4, which has a similar back end. I just visited my local BMW rep and for me the 2GC looks stunning and offers enough space for me. Thatˋs why I ordered one today and I am looking forward driving it for the next years as my new company car.

I like the front, interior is great, but the rear is quite horrendous.
I currently drive a 2 Series coupe and love it, but I would definitely prefer the New MB CLA to this shape.

@Arthur Wall that's okay everybody have different opinions.
I think so too. It might not be an icon of design that we'll all remember in 40 years, but it is actually quite good, from a designer's perspective all the lines make sense and the proportions are fitting too, especially in regards of the segment. They did introduce a new language recently that is using very few elements, but these elements are then very strong and, a bit like a design sketch in real life, very much extended and underlined. The reason why this remembers many of Asian cars is that e.g. Mazda does that too, but much more radical, they are bringing back elements right from the sixties - which is what BMW is aiming for too. As always, this is actually a new trend that for example Mercedes uses too, but there we are used to it now. Maybe in five years that will be the new usual design for our eyes. If you go back to the E60 5 series, this design was also hated massively when it was new, but it was super modern and still looks the part today where an E-Class of the same era looks far older with it's more traditional styling.

That AC readout is very retro-future and I love it. If the M235i came in a stick, it would be a compelling choice for my next car. As it is, though, the M240i Coupé is further ahead being both RWD and stick, and having a more usable main instrument cluster sure helps.

I'm really in love with this car design. Unfortunatly I already got the G20, this one came just few eeks after...otherswise this would be my choice for sure. Very neat car, especially from the back!

I also would go for the blue one as for exhaust tips. The interior led color integration is so nicely done. I personally think that BMW designers are doing greater job than Mercedes

the first 2 was such a beautiful and elegant car, this just looks out of proportion completey and from some angles it resembles a prius or a hyundai i30 fastback..
But it is NOT the same car as the 2 series. This is a sporty sedan. I love mine.
Is it possible to get a light coloured interior with fabric or alcantara? I prefer those materials over leather but I do not like dark interiors.
3:00 BMW won't make another generation of the 2 series convertible to avoid the internal competition with the Z4.
So the next RWD 2 series will be available as a coupe only.

fh 9 I was ready to argue (I think the front looks sort of okay), but then I saw the rest of the car. the last time I saw lines this ugly, ssangyong was still around.

As a happy owner of a ‘17 X1 Xdrive28i with Msport package, I do not miss the trad BMW rear driver based chassis. Also the interior is every bit as good as any other BMW (sacralige?). I like this gran coupe Msport variant!

Hi Thomas, I've had 2 CLA's in a ROW. NOT the newest one... As they are company leasing cars, I have to change every 3 to 4 years. This BMW also looks quite interesting. How would you evaluate overall space (also in the back) to a CLA?

Vielleicht erfahren wir ja von Dir auch ein paar Hintergründe zum Kaban Rücktritt
und ob jetzt nach ex Skoda vielleicht ein Lada oder SsangYong Designer kommt.
Einzig halbwegs bezahlbarer Motor ist das 1.5l 3 Pott Motorsurrogat.
Passt zum Auto und den Intrgral Sportsitzen vom Mini.

Many people disregard the practical aspect of frameless windows. I loved that with the MINI especially with the slimmer doors and the upright greenhouse.

@@darexdarex As Thomas demonstrated at 10:38 it can be easier to get out of the car in tight parking spaces without having to clear the door frame with your head or shoulders.
That ass gives the original 5 Series GT a run for its money... (not in a good way!)

The new M2 will be a two door and RWD so purest car rest easy, this will be a car mainly for the US I reckon. I’m a M2 owner can I’ve been told the new one will look like a baby M8 from bmw designers

I think the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3 Limousine look way better than this 2 series GC. But nice video as always, very detailed and in high quality. My thumbs up as usual!
This new model will be a big hit. It has bold styling and for sure will catch the eye of younger BMW shoppers. To the old timers carping about the looks, you are not the target audience. Stop your bellyaching and let the younger generation have their choices. Surely that is fair.
