The steering is so overbuilt on this it's amazing! The ball joint has a "dual" ball joint like a dual king pin truck for better stability. I bet that helps reduce torque steer. Really amazing design. Thanks for sharing the build guys!
Well done to all the team AHC garage that was pretty amazing love the blue calipers i’m just enjoying all of these episodes that you are doing this build is something so special it’s unbelievable and can’t wait to see the next episode and can’t wait till next Saturday. Well done team.
Question for you guys… @15:30 you guys did the lower ball joint change. I noticed there seems to be an upper ball joint as well on the upper half of the fork. Is that part interchangeable? Or do you have to just order a whole new fork?
What a crazy wild spindle design these CTR’s have. I’m wondering why they needed to put 2 ball joints on the bottom, when the strut itself doesn’t rotate like most strut suspensions do? Only the spindle rotates for steering so it seems like the lowest ball joint could have been a bolt and bushing type of connection.
Nothing moves haha. I am sure some folks figured out a way somehow not to do this, but we wanted a clean installation and don't want to have any unnecessary contacts. We are good with the method :-)
Nice install video! Are you or your customers thinking of installing the Spoon Rigid Collar kit ever? Do you have any opinion if the rigid collars are worth it or not?
We have yet to install Spoon Rigid Collar kit before this. After the installation, I can see how this kit can drastically sharpens suspension feel and increases chassis rigidity
I need to replace an axle on my CTR. should I just remove the lower ball joint and the tie rod end to swing the hub assembly? Also, can I just use a regular ball joint puller?
@@ahcgarage interesting. I’m also at a Honda dealer, but in a fairly rural area. Since this body style type r came out I believe we’ve only sold 2, so my familiarity with them isn’t the best. It’s nice to see all of these upgrades being done!
It's SATURDAY!!! AHC here we go fellas! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks so much!!
Man you guys are good. I don't even trust my local Acura dealer but I'd bring my Type S to you guys in a heartbeat.
Thank you!!

Hell yeah
Right on!!
All that work on the knuckle spindles for ball joints.😢 This car may probably never hit the track 😅! Because is too clean to track.
Clean is right :-)
Part # for the Honda ball joint separator?
And does it work on other vehicles!?
Unfortunately we don't
I’m confused, is there a reason the wheel bearing hub had to be removed to access the ball joint?
For this setup, yes

Nooooo! Lol I would’ve preferred the set screw not installed on the rotor
Больно смотреть как ломают нового тайпа 😭
