  • The Smeg water kettle is amazing, it's just great. Definitely recommend getting one.
    As a dad though, one thing to consider: If you need a cup of boiled water in the night while the kids sleep, the fun tunes are not necessarily so fun anymore that this thing sings... But I'm sure those can be turned off somehow, but all in all this is a great product!

    I just love my SMEG kettle. Money well spent! I got the white which is more off white. Also you can hide the cord in base of you need a shorter link.

    you can turn off the noise by pressing the thermometer button for 5 seconds and then on again the same way

    Is it safe and drinkable when the temp reaches 70 or 80 degree instead of 100? Bacteria? or I'm thinking, maybe that button is more to keep it warm after it is boiled? 🤔

    • @elveni
      @elveni  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think you can straight up drink it at 70-80 degree you'll burn your mouth definitely so don't do that. But yeah about bacteria and that stuff, I think that depends on the water you use in the boiler. I'd wager most bacteria die off at like 80-100 degrees. The button on it is most definitely to keep the water warm for a while yeah.

    Thank you for the video! Do the lights at the base of the kettle go into a standy-mode after a while or do you always have to unplug it?

    • @marajanen3094
      @marajanen3094 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fyi the sound can be shut off by pressing the temperature button on the right for about 5sec until it beeps

      The lights seem to go off after it hasn’t been used for a while.

    Hi. May i ask how long you've been using it now and also if there have been any problems? The lid connector broke after around 2 years of constant use but i wonder if it's the same for others

    • @elveni
      @elveni  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've been using it since the publishing of this video, still using it, works like a charm! Absolutely wonderful piece of machinery. Modern electronics usually break around 2 years (planned obsolescence), so I'm sad to hear this may be true in my case as well, but let's see. So far I'm really happy with my Smeg and it's working absolutely perfectly.

    Another stellar review! Cool kettle but the base looks a bit flimsy

    • @elveni
      @elveni  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot :) Yes the kettle is definitely cool, shiny and chrome. The base is surprisingly sturdy due to the anti-slip rubber pieces on the feet of the thing though.

    Can you please tell me if the base makes a noise when it is plugged in? Not when using it, when it is "stand by".. My new smeg boiler makes a constant bzzzzz noise, not loud but annoying..

    • @elveni
      @elveni  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No my base doesn't make any noise when it's plugged in. Sounds like there may be a faulty wire or something wrong maybe with the grounding of your electrical socket. Please ask from someone who knows about electricity of this, be careful not to get shocked.

    Is the bottom of the kettle plastic or stainless steel?

    • @elveni

    • @elveni

      Seems to be plastic.

      @@elveni So why so much money for a kettle when its parts are only made of plastic? hahaha I thought it was something high quality made of good strong stainless steel parts so I won't buy it disappointment

    • @elveni
      @elveni  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@angelagiv2426 some parts are smarter to make from plastic. Perhaps its not a cost saving action but some design point? It does have electronics in the bottom.

    • @Avantime
      @Avantime ปีที่แล้ว

      @@angelagiv2426 Because of profits and bad design. The old Smeg KLF01 kettle has a severe design flaw where the interior plastic lid comes off after time, and steam will leak and potentially cause burns. It's also very heavy for a kettle, which is another design flaw if they're targeting female consumers.
