Thank you Chris. The hands on is very useful to know on how to remove the lid which really came in useful. My KLF04 (temp control) hinge broke one of its 2 arms and so I sourced a hinge replacement on ebay (scavenged off a sim broken kettle). My god was it tough to change over as the 5 screws are quite inaccessible 'within' the kettle and they also hold to handle on. After about 2hrs wrestling with it and less quite a bit of skin on my knuckles I managed the change over only to discover that the internal sliding mechanism (which sticks on your video) is now a slightly different design (more akin to a lever than a wedge) and the lid plunger depresses on it when refitted so the tang/clips won't engage to allow the lid to clip closed. GOD DAMN but is it an awkward and infuriating blooming design OR designed not to be changed but rather we purchase a new very expensive kettle.......🤬. But I am not beaten quite yet as I am looking to get a redesigned lever piece 3D printed by a colleague top try to get the lid plunger to mate better . If only life was quite as effortless as your video mate ha ha

It was hard for me to understand some of your words because of your accent. Can you please tell me what kind of grease? Would you show me the bottle the grease comes in. You said it was important to get a certain kind but I don't have any idea what kind of grease it is... ?
