Furthest from the sun is one of my top ten albums of all time , and this is where I discovered our Polly Jean. The Cat were a b side band aswell you had to get everything because they were so good ! propeller blades enough said. X
wow i never realised how big the family cat were until i saw this video of them with pj harvey. thats so crazy because my dad is best friends with the lead singer and good friends with the rest of the band.
I was sitting opposite a woman on the tube one day and thought to myself, "I know her from somewhere, where in the Hell do I know her from".It was bloody PJ Harvey!
I can't remember where in London it was, it was quite some time ago.I just remember this woman with a very distinctive face sitting opposite me with another guy, and thinking 'That's PJ Harvey'.I was really into the indie music scene at the time, I still like a lot of those old indie bands like The Family Cat, Lush, Dinosaur Jr, etc.
Always loved this song since released in the 90’s but is there a high quality version out there anywhere? The poor quality recording of this always stings the same!
I saw them play at my Poly, the hall never sounded better, not just cause it was damn near empty, blinding sound, but no one wanted to go home and they obliged, in the the end the SU killed the power, barstewards. It made the NME cough up something derisory.
In a couple years she'd be Huge on the cover of Everything and N Caves girlfriend- she remains an enduring forcing, even if you don't like every record , you can call her an artist without throwing up.
An instance of when the band is overshadowed by the backing singer who turned out to be one of the greatest artists that the UK has ever produced. But not a bad band either just one that might have been had the cards fallen differently.
Loved The Family Cat. Have all 4 of their albums on CD including a rare Tell em we're surfin'. Wish their stuff was on Spotify
The Family Cat were a really good band. I saw them at a club in Essex many years back.
Great song...polly adds so much to this.
Love the energy behind the music...never saw them
...bugger!

That’s a really disrespectful description of PJ Harvey
