It never fails to amaze me how much dirt is in these rugs! Makes me want to find someone similar in my area to clean my rugs. I've used the store rental machines, but they still look grungy.

Check out local mom & pop flooring stores. They are the ones that usually do it. One of my customers in stl does this. They even come to the house with the clean rug. Move furniture and put the rug back down. Look for places that do rug binding. They might be able to refer you someone
Most of the time this will cost you more than the rug. just get a new rug.

Dunno 🤷♀️ how a rug gets sewage on it & so much unless the house was in a major flood, but yep what a transition! Absolutely unreal, I love floor rugs was always hosing garden or garage out & helping mum with laundry as a kid, I loved watching dirty clothes get clean weird I know 😂so this to me is so satisfying, I have only a home carpet cleaner here for mine, yet it does the job, awesome work you 2, gday from Australia 🇦🇺🌴🥥🌴🙌🏽

I feel that it would be cleaner or easier if your area for carpet cleaning had a drainage trough around the whole cleaning area that flows right into the front drainage system. Then you wouldn't have to worry about cleaning against the wall areas as much. If you hung the shelves up on the wall, the bottom wood of the shelves wouldn't get soaked or muddy, and the cleaning surface area would be easier to clean and/or drain.

The floor should be a little bit more sloped towards the drain bar. That way you reduce dirty contaminated water from being re-absorbed and it would also make hosing the floor down a lot easier.
