Bought a used one on eBay a month ago. 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, applecare+, 90% battery health, all for $1400. Super happy with it. Only downside is that I wish it was silver, not Space gray…
that's what isay to people who want to buy one. Really, if you just want to work peacefully on it and not do anything that needs massive power, just take am1 macbook air. It will be fine for a long time.
If i had the need for a beast like that. I would be very happy too. I have not and are very happy with my 16 M1 Pro with only 16GB. I would however have to upgrade to a max model if I need a significant performance boost in FCP but I don’t. Happy for you
@@mejlgaardbliddal That's the exact model I upgraded from and to be honest it still performed awesomely. Just bought a brand new MacBook Air M1 for less than $750 on year 2024, upgraded from previous 2019 Intel MBP and it was the best investment I did after iPad mini 6
Awaiting delivery of 16” M3 MacBook Pro Max 48/2Tb silver replacing 5 year old 16” Intel home heater from Apple - will probably miss it during winter time!
I love my M1 Max. To me it is peak laptop and still way overpowered for the light video editing and office work I do. I got it at haft price on Black Friday and believe I will have it for 5-10 years.
I got a 16in MacBook Pro from school. It’s my first not 13in in 12 years… and I hate it so much!!! It’s too big and heaven for a laptop. Like it’s not even reasonably sized for carrying around.
In my use case I use my MBP for office work, some video editing and photo editing, drive a pair of displays at home and work out of a pickup during the day. I had the 10/24/32 M1 Max in a 16". The size was a deal killer. I traded it for a 14" M3 Pro MBP 12/18/18 and have never regretted the decision. Moral of the story, I didn't need as much horse power as I thought, and I really should have spent more time considering the size and weight. Wish I would have originally bought the 14" M1 Pro instead, but super happy with the M3 Pro MBP 14" (and the space black is Cool!)
I've just ordered the M3 15" MBA and upgraded the storage after using my dads M2 15" MBA for a couple days to see if I liked it as I've only ever used windows. I made the decision to order the M3 MBA within 1 hour of using it. very impressed with the speed and fluidity. I will still always use my desktop windows computer when doing something heavy duty, this MacBook is only intended for watching videos and sending emails.
Still got the M1 Pro 14” MacBook Pro (binned), still can’t get the fan to run loud, and performs amazingly fast. I mainly use figma, vs code, photoshop.
I got the space black and it is disappointing in person, it has a weird hue that looks slightly brown or purpleish depending on the light. Wish I got space grey, still the best color by far
Thanks for making such a comprehensive video. I still have a doubt on purchasing M3 MBA 16 GB vs M3 MBP 16 GB ram. I will be mainly working on light video editing - mostly 1080p but I seriously like the display quality of MBP and those extra ports.
I've had my base m1 air for 3 years and it gets the job done. It was finally pushed when I started using VS Code and other IDE's for university. If I had gone and upgraded it to 16gb ram I think I would've never wanted to get an upgrade now 😭
I have my MBA M2 15' and I also regret not getting 16RAM. Not because is not working well (not al all, it's awesome), but for its durability I think I might regret it in a few years
Love my 13" M3 Air with 16GB/1TB configuration, can take it anywhere without a hassle, even use it on small airplane tables and has a long battery life. For portability and my use case (traveling, office work, watching movies, surfing, light gaming) definitely the best choice! For people who need extra power and travel less, the M3 Pro might be better.
The 15'' macbook air is roughly the same weight as the 14'' macbook pro, but lacks promotion, miniled, XDR, fewer external display support, lower builtin display resolution, fewer thunderbolts, etc. No idea why apple made this model at the first place.....
I recently picked up an open box M3 Pro 14in for about $1500 from Best Buy. It was listed as fair w/major scratches. Upon inspection, there were absolutely no scratches or blemishes. I picked it up and it was totally dead. But after charging I checked the battery and capacity is 100% and it had less than 10 charge cycles. At that price it was a no brainer vs the Air w/16GB and 512GB ssd
13” M3 AIR 16gb 512gb here. Holy cow does it actually work as good as my i9 desktop. I’m a videographer (installation_04_media) and it’s actually really destroying my workload out of the water. I do short form content.
Considering upgrading my 2014 MBP finally. Looking at the 14" Pro with the M3 Pro, its on sale for $1699 right now. Could get a M3 version with 16gb/1tb for same price. Or bump to $2049 and get the M3 Pro with 1TB and upgraded cpu/gpu... figure it should last me another 9yrs like my 2014 has. I do have a gaming desktop, so would mostly just be overkill for day to day stuff an Air could, but by the time you bump up the ssd on an Air to 512, may as well go with the Pro for the better screen and additional ram for $200 more.
I bought a 16" M1 Macbook Pro with 16 GB RAM and 512 HD. It was about $1200, cheaper than a simialrly spec'ed M2 or M3, and almost as fast in most Tasks, and several advantages over the Macbook Airs. If you MUST buy new, wait for the M4's. Rumors are they are a big step forward, but we shall see.

I need very lightweight portability for full time, carryon-only intl travel (my camera/drone/accessories take up a lot of weight/space) with ability to edit YT type videos in DaVinci. I know I should probably go with the pro m3 pro but I like the 15 MBA for screen size and weight. Can MBA handle the job? I also carry an M2 iPad Pro 11” for general, everyday use. Thanks…
MacOs Ventura. Not upgradable anymore to Sonoma. But it still works. Plan to upgrade by 2027. 10yrs. Last I got Macbook Aluminum 2008, then MBP Touchbar 2017. Then, 2027 is my next upgrade.
I recently joined the MacBook Air 💻 gang. My iPhone wasn’t being sufficient to do it all, so I decided to get the MacBook Air 💻 M1 bc that will be more than enough for what I need it for. Also, I got it for $699 at Walmart for the 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD. Best beginner laptop in my opinion to get into the Apple MacBook 💻 environment. Yes, it’s a 2020 model, however still runs pretty fast and I love how seamlessly it interacts with my iPhone , Apple Watch , and AirPods 😎
Thanks for this and your other great videos! I'm between an 13" M3 MacBook Air and a 14" M2Pro MacBook Pro. I would get both with 1TB and 16 GB of RAM, and the M2 Pro, in addition to being a Pro (as opposed to base) chip, comes with more CPU and GPU cores. I've found deals on both and they're both $1500. If longevity (years it will stay a good machine) and budget are my priority, which would you recommend? I do some photo editing, but most of what I do is just a lot of multitasking of simple things (e.g., 100 web browser tabs open, a dozen MS Word documents, 20 emails open, etc.). All of my drives and data within some apps are also encrypted, so any hardware advantages in running encryption/decryption algorithms will certainly help me. Thanks!
12:55 2x larger SSD isn‘t right in this constellation, only if you compare with MacBook Air M2 or M3. In your case, you compare base MacBook Pro M3 and base MacBook Pro M3 Pro, which have the same SSD size, but different speeds.
Still on a 2019 16inch intel touchbar MacBook Pro! Still works great, wanna upgrade but can’t justify the price when my MacBook still handles everything, plus it’s notchless, I hate the notch…
Ok so I’m barely scraping by with my 16” Intel MB Pro but I’m itching to upgrade. My workflow would probably be fine with what I’ve got for a little longer (mostly use Microsoft office applications) but it is what I want to do with my MB Pro in my down time that is screaming for an upgrade: movies and games. But I don’t play 1st person shooters anymore. Mostly turn-based strategy (e.g. Colonizing Mars, Civ-6, etc.). I assume that 16” M2 Pro would do the trick but for how long into the future? I’m thinking about buying an M3 Pro after the M4s come out this fall (hopefully get a refurbished one cheap-er). Thoughts?
Which macbook would you recommend for my use case: Full stack developer freelancer on both web app and mobile application Also am running my youtube channel related to coding only so no extreme level animation just basic video editing and also working on ui ux design part!
I'd like to see a comparison between the MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro 12 core 18gb vs 36gb for heavy web use and video/photo editing. Is it worth upgrading to 36gb for future proofing?
Hello, I'm currently using a desktop PC (Dell i5-8500/16GB) and I want to switch to a laptop, specifically a MacBook Air. I'm unsure which model to buy, M2 or M3, and whether to get 8GB or 16GB of RAM. My usage mainly involves these apps: Chrome (with around ten tabs open on average), Adobe Illustrator, Notion, Trading View, Mail, Discord, and Office Suite. Occasionally (once a month), I also use Fusion 360 and Counter-Strike. Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice.
I'm a high school student looking for a MacBook that can support me through senior year and all of college. I mainly focus on CS-related tasks. Currently, I have an Asus TUF with an i7 12th gen and a 3070ti, but I'm looking for something more portable that I can multitask with, watch content on, and do some graphics work. Which MacBook would you recommend for me?
You negleted to include the $699 M1 MBA at Walmart. Great deal. Now for what you said about the M3 MBA display. Connecting it to a dock gives you almost everything and more than a MacBook Pro. If you're using multiple displays then you're at a desk so a dock is really a good addition. They're dropping in price as well. Bought a Thunderbolt 4 one on Ebay for $60.
I've been debating on getting the MacBook Air or the MacBook pro 16-in. I am leaning towards the air cuz it's cheaper. The 15-in model that is but I also want the M3 pro with a larger display I can use my trade-in. I currently have a Intel Mac 13-in and I've been looking to upgrade it for a while and I really want the 16 in but I didn't want to pay the price. I also want the M3 pro so I feel like the bass 16 in with the 512 storage might be enough, but I feel like I will upgrade the storage to 1 TB. What do you think?
I’m looking for a new MacBook Pro since I own an old intel MacBook. I usually use it for large excel spreadsheets and 10-20 chrome windows. So for multitasking and light gaming should I get an M1 Max 10 core CPU 24 core GPU 32gb of RAM or the M3 Pro 12 core CPU 18 core GPU 32gb of RAM? First one is 1700 and the second 2700 so just wondering if the difference in price is worth it and if I want to keep it for 4-5 years. Thanks!
Hi! Super informative video. Although, I still have my doubts… I’m buying a MacBook to do some editing on fcp (very simple and small; usually 1min videos max 5/10min) and I run a lot of safari tabs plus documents either open or on Word/Excel. Let’s say 20tabs and 10docs. Will a MacBook Air be enough or should I go pro? Either way, should always consider a 16gb ram? I hope you can help me, please
As the M3 macbook pro supports ProMotion I just hope the upcoming mac minis to support ProMotion. If Apple does this I'll immediately upgrade my mac mini M2

As an student I want to buy a new MacBook am currently using an Mac book Air M1 and are thinking about upgrading to a newer and more powerful one my budget is around 1500$ I’m going to use it for studying and som casual Gaming
I want to buy a macbook for music production (Logic Pro) with various large library plug-ins. I also want to connect two displays, doesnt matter whether the laptop has to be closed or not. Which one should I get?
I'm hoping the Mac Studio gets an M3-4 upgrade by year end as I think I'm finally going to upgrade from my 2017 27" Intel iMac. Yeah, I'm NOT buying a 24" iMac.....

Which one is the best for a science student who does design work + photography as a hobby?
Is the M3 Pro worth 200 euros more compared to the M3 with 16GB? I only do basic stuff.
For doing programming+simulation work for university+video editing+portability. Budget is around $2000. Does it fulfill my tasks?
M3 MacBook Pro with 16GB memory will probably do just fine for you. I assume simulation work might take a while so you might need a fan-powered laptop

Still on a 2019 16inch intel touchbar MacBook Pro! Still works great, wanna upgrade but can’t justify the price when my MacBook still handles everything, plus it’s notchless, I hate the notch…
Definitely keep it if you’re happy. Don’t upgrade yet
i like super fast screen speed..i think macpros are it for me...
Happy owner of M3 Pro❤
3d renders, compositors (Nuke) stay away from M chip go for Nvidis laptops…
So for a data analyst mining data , large long extracts and coding. Probably the max right?
Thoughts?
Which macbook would you recommend for my use case:
Full stack developer freelancer on both web app and mobile application
Also am running my youtube channel related to coding only so no extreme level animation just basic video editing and also working on ui ux design part!
I'd like to see a comparison between the MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro 12 core 18gb vs 36gb for heavy web use and video/photo editing. Is it worth upgrading to 36gb for future proofing?
Hi great roundup review well done!!!! ….Which is best for 3D modelling and raytrace rendering?
40-core M3 Max for sure but very expensive
Hello,
I'm currently using a desktop PC (Dell i5-8500/16GB) and I want to switch to a laptop, specifically a MacBook Air.
Not officially on Apple website anymore. Kinda want to forget about it now and move on
Should I get MacBook Pro or Mac Studio in 2024 for a similar price?
Thanks!
is it worth it to get the pro just to the 120 hertz and the display? i am not a pro user either and i will just use it to watch content
I am gonna join a medical college which includes pdf and presentations, would you recommend me a iPad or macbook
which one is better: base model m2pro 16' (16gb/512gb) or m3pro 16' with 32gb/512gb?
Hi! Super informative video. Although, I still have my doubts…
I’m buying a MacBook to do some editing on fcp (very simple and small; usually 1min videos max 5/10min) and I run a lot of safari tabs plus documents either open or on Word/Excel.
Let’s say 20tabs and 10docs.
Will a MacBook Air be enough or should I go pro? Either way, should always consider a 16gb ram?
I hope you can help me, please
amazing video, thank you!
512m2 or 256m3 which should i buy
Besides outright speed, any reason to choose Thunderbolt 4 over Thunderbolt 3?
As the M3 macbook pro supports ProMotion I just hope the upcoming mac minis to support ProMotion. If Apple does this I'll immediately upgrade my mac mini M2
Actually during watching this video. I wonder if Apple has played 5D chess to bring in a gaming handheld running mac with M series CPU
great review. I am looking for a computer to do photoshop work. I like portability yet still want a good screen to capture the colors of the photos. thanks

I want to buy a macbook for music production (Logic Pro) with various large library plug-ins. I also want to connect two displays, doesnt matter whether the laptop has to be closed or not. Which one should I get?
Which one is better, m3 air base modelor m2 air 16 gb with 256 ssd??
I'm hoping the Mac Studio gets an M3-4 upgrade by year end as I think I'm finally going to upgrade from my 2017 27" Intel iMac. Yeah, I'm NOT buying a 24" iMac.....
