Correction: this model makes 390 Lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet very confusingly uses two 2.7L configurations on this model with the same horsepower but different torque. My mistake!

you can get the 237hp version, the 390 lbft version and you can have a GM dealer flash you to the 430 lbft version for a fee... all 2.7l turbos, but the base 237hp version has some things that are different mechanically then the higher versions. you can have any version you want in the WT and Lt trucks.

It would have been nice if they kept the crew cab 6ft bed option. Not completely sold on the lights being in the screen given GM’s reputation for reliability. My 06 Dakota had a grab handle on both sides lol, that’s just cost cutting.

This is a great value truck. Honestly better than a lot of the other options. But it has stiff competition with the new ranger and the new taco, both are amazing in my opinion from what I’ve seen. Another great review issac. God bless you man👍🏽🙏🏽
2024 Ranger is going up $3k for base model. Colorado is the best option for a $35k 4x4 mid sized truck.
i drove the new ranger today and it was a piece of shit, so clunky and bumpy. I reserved my 2023 LT

The 2.7L is the first GM engine to use cylinder deactivation on a four-cylinder engine. Under light loads, the engine shuts down two cylinders to conserve fuel. Allowing the motor to run as a two-cylinder for decreased fuel consumption.

These engines have been in the Silverado since 2019. Some reviews at around 200k. So some research on what they put these engines through. Or, keep doubting without learning.

Isaac, great review. I prefer the looks of the GMC Canyon over the Chevy Colorado. I really like the daytime running lights on the GMC. Now that you have reviewed both trucks, which one do you prefer? I don't blame GM for moving the light switch. GM has been using auto headlights on all vehicles since early 2000. I have them on my 2016 and rarely touch the light switch. Stay Strong, Encouraged, and keep up with the great reviews.
I prefer the Canyon for the looks, but Colorado for the price.

@@ddave7026Yes, having a choice and options is a good thing. I have a Yukon and I have learned that some standard equipment on the Yukon is a option on the Tahoe.
Have a co workers that got one, they are now rethinking a bit about their purchase decision. The touch screen is a major issue for safety, especially with some of the required functions having been flushed into it. Props to them for keeping the shifter. Thanks for the review!
Is the screen the only reason they dont like the truck? Im thinking of getting one myself and am already used of having to use a screen for everything because of my Ford Fusion.
@@johncastille8849 Brakes feel very spongy they said. They do not like the visibility with the headlights. And after talking with other 2023 owners they are worried about the tranny reliability. They wanted to stick with an American company though so even though they liked the new Nissan Frontier they're thinking of the Ford Ranger since they like the one another coworker has.
Ironic because the Nissan Frontier & Toyota Tacomas are actually assembled in America and the other trucks tend to not be.

I believe that truck comes with 310 horsepower in 390 foot pounds of torque. It's the middle of the 3 engines.
That’s the problem when they use the same engine with the same displacement but different turbos and such, it’s confusing to know which one is which. I’m not 100% sure this doesn’t have the option for the higher engine

I wish the digital gauge display took up the entire background like the Silverado. It looks weird having a square screen with blank space on the sides.
That is strange. My guess is that body style was not designed originally with that in mind

The screen issues have to do with Google not GM, as this same issue has happened in other car brands.
I mean Google doesn’t control the center gauge cluster screen, GM does haha.
@@AlphaShark it's called android automotive it's integrating in multiple screens to form a system, Volvo was the first to partner with them and had the same issues.This is a software issue with Google ikw this because I build these trucks every single day, and GM is fully aware of this issue and is working with Google on a OTA update as these trucks ride on GM new global electrical architecture so there's no need for a shop visit when there is an update.

I would pass on this Lt just go with z71 or gmc at4
