To me its crazy to say Mayweather over Ali when everyone knows Mayweather couldn't beat Ail on his best day
And there is probably 50 fighters of all time that would beat Ali in an actual fight. As much as people hate him, there has never been a more dominant boxer than Floyd. Everyone that came up against him was schooled for most of the fight. Best defensive boxer of all time, never been knocked down, beat more world champions than anyone and is 50-0. Obviously he loses to boxers in the heavyweight division, but just based on weight class Floyd is untouchable.
Without Joe Louis there is nobody, he is literally your favourite fighter’s favourite fighter . All the old time trainers call Joe Louis the old timer and they were novices to Louis . He is the daddy and idol for all those all time great fighters you name them, Liston, Ray Robinson, Charles, Marciano etc without him there wouldn’t be anyone . Sure there was Dempsey and Johnson, but they didn’t come close to what Joe Louis was. I’m not even gonna get into the killing machine of a fighter he was that nobody could touch for over a decade longest reigning champion . It all started with Joe Louis.

Mayweather is the LeBron of boxing. Popular with a younger crowd, still famous for his achievements, and due to those factors he gets the GOAT title from people who haven't seen decades of better boxers (and decades of better basketball players for LeBron)

@@remnantsaved144 No combat sport should be about being defensive alone. Makes no sense to me. Imagine being an MMA fighter and you have to be defensive to be great. It would make the sport a bore just like all Mayweather's fights are. He is one of the greatest but he has nothing on Ali in terms of position or hierarchy.
