    A 13-year-old boy is a *boy.* An 18-year-old young woman is a young *woman.* That's absolutely unacceptable. That child cannot consent.

    To respond to the 13 and 18 year old story: my husband is 4 years older than me. I’m 22, so our maturity levels are similar and we are in similar parts of our life. Had I met him when I was 13 (him 17) it would be so wrong. So so incredibly wrong. At 13, I was calling my mom “mommy,” I had my first period, I was scared to swear, I had a Wii themed birthday party! Why would a 17 year old almost man want to be with a child like that? Sick.

    • @mandigurl2341
      @mandigurl2341 6 ปีที่แล้ว +61

      Ang it was. My neighbor made me a Wii cake, had Little Caesar’s pizza, and it was centered around Guitar Hero (my fav game at the time.) We has bean bag chairs and my friend decided to poke a hole in both of them and we ended up throwing the little beans at each other. Pretty memorable. This was 10 years ago. I was content with having my nails and toes painted at a salon (just polish) and my new flip phone. People still talk about my birthday party tbh

      Too be honest there's a reason as to why guys make the stereotypical "Nice" and "Wish I had been in his shoes," comments. Even in the face of those yelling "double standards" I think that there is this phenomenon that society has recognized but chooses to ignores that communicates that guys simply do not feel as victomized when engaged in this type of relationship between them as a teenager and another adult. Even with that said I highly value the merets of mantaining and enforcing an equal age of consent between the sexes.
      I simply can not think to see this lady as equal to a guy who could and would be more likely to use whatever leverage he can in order to ensure the existence of some sort of relationship between him and a teenager.
      It doesn't do my conscious well to see this lady to be treated by that false equivalent. It really doesn't...

  • @caz2618
    @caz2618 6 ปีที่แล้ว +449

    It's so sexist because people expect males (of any age) to be interested in a sexual relationship with an attractive woman and women are often regarded as sexually passive. It's disturbing that some people can't see a child predator because that predator is a young and pretty woman. At 13 no matter how 'mature' you are you should not be in a sexual relationship, especially not with an adult. That poor boy is not being protected.

    • @ApartmentViews
      @ApartmentViews 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dylan I dunno. I think sometimes the issue is gray especially when it's the woman who's older. Like, what are we really talking about here? Two dumb kids who think they're in love courting/dating/kissing? What's the long term psychological damage you fear the 13-year-old will experience?

    • @caz2618
      @caz2618 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      ApartmentViews see that's sexism right there "especially when the woman is older". 13 year olds don't have the life experience, cognitive abilities or stability to cocent to an adult sexual relationship. Young teens are not mature enough to be in that situation, they can be easily taken advantage of and should be allowed to be kids. How would you feel if you had a 13 year old daughter that some 18 year old was putting in sexual situations? Don't defend sexual predators.

    • @caz2618
      @caz2618 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      ApartmentViews and if you don't think being sexualised and put in inappropriate situations by someone far older, who should know better, is psychologically damaging then I implore you to think and do some research.

    • @AriaIsara
      @AriaIsara 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The age difference is weird but she's not an adult. They're both teenagers. At 18 she is still a teenager. She even sounds like a 15/16 year old, she doesn't seem mature at all so I don't think she's a predator.

      In Europe? You mean the third world nations the EU didn't want? South America lol? When you go to Mexico the first thing you will see is small tiny children begging, and trying to sell things, sometimes selling themselves. This is actually illegal due to UN regulations, but it absolutely does happen anyway. However, I don't think that many people who see that think, "Mexico is awesome, I want my kids to grow up this way too, because I love and care about them so much, and this childhood is clearly fantastic." There are countries where abuse, war, poverty and corruption are very common place- and every person who lives in these countries, seems desperate to immigrate to a country with rules and standards like the USA. Woman actually mature earlier than men do, so this is actually worse than a 13 year old girl and an 18 year old guy. I think that most 25 year old guys, if they spend time with 13 year old boys, would begin to understand why this is so wrong. 13 year old boys are very keen to do things that will hurt and damage them- that is why they need parents who actually care about them.

      If he was well known, and in my opinion, it would definitely be more talked about. But speaking from experience (as I was once a 13 year old girl lol) there were TONS and TONS of 17, 18, 19 and 20 year old dudes who were ALWAYS trying to hook up with me and my friends when we were 12, 13 and 14. I even had some friend, when we were 13, dating 19 year old dudes. No one really cared or did anything about it.
      Just FYI I'm not saying this is okay. It's 100% not okay. But generally speaking, 18, 19 and 20 year old dudes get away with dating 13 year old girls ALL THE TIME. We don't hear about it because it's usually seen as some cultural normal in whatever area they live in. I know where I'm from it wasn't unusual for older men to be with young teenagers.

    As someone who used to be a young female (12 years old) who attracted older males (18 to 21+) when I was younger I used to never think twice about older males that I found attractive finding me attractive. I had the same mindset if I was mature, there’s nothing wrong with these men, I just act and look older than I am. As I’ve gotten older (now 20) I look back at those men, some who still try and contact me and I am disgusted by them. I’m disgusted that as a child I didn’t see the predators and I just saw it as men being nice to me, or men finding me attractive. But I was a CHILD. it didn’t matter how smart or mature I was, I was barely in middle school, being hit on and in some cases dating men who lived on their own and were GROWN ADULTS. As someone who has younger siblings, and kids I’m horrified and disgusted at how hard it is to convince people that someone who is 12,13 that dating anyone who is considered a legal adult is WRONG. Someone who is an ADULT shouldn’t have an attraction to a CHILD. You shouldn’t even be putting yourself in the position to meet or speak with children that young, let alone act on any attraction you have. You’re an adult, taking advantage of a child who doesn’t see the harsh reality of it, but only sees the “kindness” or “love” they feel from the ADULT.

    The fact of the matter is, this is an 18-year-old who is considered an adult nationwide and at 17 an adult in the state of Texas. This is an adult dating a 13-year old who is still in middle school. Don't try to pass it off as Disney love when the legality of the situation is morally repugnant. Call it what it is, stop the pity party and date someone your own age. The mother defending the "relationship" is enabling the situation. I'm surprised she is somehow okay with this. What kind of parent defends this? If she had a daughter (she might but who knows) would she have the same reaction if it was her 13-year-old daughter dating an 18-year-old guy? If not, then why defend these two as "young love."

    • @gabesennheiser
      @gabesennheiser 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I had a full beard at 13 to say hes not even gone through puberty isn't necessarily true, some people experience their "puberty" at different ages depending on genetics and environmental factors. Puberty is defined as "the period during which adolescents reach sexual maturity and become capable of reproduction" If you judge it by definition a young girl can go through puberty as soon as 8 years old and 9 y/o with boys but in general most people generally go through early stages of puberty around age 10. I don't think its the end of the world if two young adults date I.e two 17+ y/o people, and I may not think it is great that a 18 and 13 y/o date. I personally would be against any of my future kids dating a 17+ y/o at 13. But things like this happen and there is in some states or even cities "Romeo and Juliet laws" that protect such relationships if they either started years before one became a legal adult or they were close friends growing up and that lead to a relationship.

    I know she said she wasn't having sexual relations with the child but I feel like it was going to get to that point if it hasn't happened already. She's 18, she needs to date people around her age, not 5 years younger then her.

Secondly, comparing a case of an adult innapropriately pursuing a minor to consenting gay adults OR a person identifying as transgender (whichever you were confusingly meaning to refer to) is ludicrous and very offensive. Do some research, and grow up, dumbass.

      I WOULD like to know more, it's more so opinionated though so it doesn't matter if comes from the internet or you.
      Gender neutral relationships were banned by the justice system... So why is is the Age Gap a bother? I'm thinking more from a broader term, why is that a problem? I'm not promoting some weird uprising in Age Gap relationships, but what couldn't separate gender neutral relationships is the relationship THEY HAD between each other. Maybe teens are becoming more aware because of the social and internet happenings. Are they that delusional? Ask them yourself, they're human. I'm pointing out that young people may not need to be stereotypicalized because they're changing this generation. And people are one tracked mind about it being a pedophilic situation. And I'm speaking broader terms now at this point.
      But they are totally "illegaly smooshing booties" together though since the boy is an instgram star and is 13... I agree on that

    Age gaps almost seem to get smaller as both parties age. For example a 35 and a 30 year old dating; perfectly normal, 18 and 23; eh, I mean I would go for someone closer to my age but you do you, 13 and 18; ummm no, 10 and 15; wtf. The reason for this is the emotional maturity level of both parties. The emotional maturity level of a 30 and 35 year old is basically the exact same, but the emotional development from 10 to 15 or 13 to 18 is huge.

      They did nothing legally or morally wrong, and due to the back lash they can just wait until he's 17 to avoid people giving a shit. Like she said, they didn't have any sexual relations, so really them dating can't be different than adults who are married who are 15 years apart sometimes.

    • @percyjackson8343
      @percyjackson8343 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Miguel Maldonado you don't know the parents of these kids. You don't know the relationship the parents had with the kids or how they were raised. Just because a parent says so doesn't make it moral or right. After all parents are also human and make mistakes and they were once children that may have been raised in a not so ideal way and then raised their kids simmilarly. So to me, the parents say is irrelevant because we don't know the parents or how they treat the children.

      I don't even think this is the case, but I guess it's country dependant. I am a male that was in a rationship for 5 years with a girl 6 years older then me. We started dating when I was 13 and broke it off when I was 19. (So 19-25 for her) and to be honest, I've seen it reversed too and nobody cares sufficiently. It's obvious when one cannot make a decision and cannot take action when the law for under 18 should apply and when it shouldn't. And I believe what she was trying to explain is that they are not dating at the moment, they did not have sex and they no longer date only because of the public.

    For Count Dankula's rejected appeal and him going to court on it, I can understand why you could be torn on it. But the key thing about appealing this and refusing to submit to the court is fighting to set a precedent. The precedent currently stands at "making an offensive video mocking Nazis with a dog warrants severe disciplinary action." The next time somebody makes a video of a goose-stepping zucchini or sig heiling hedgehog, a prosecutor can point at Dankula's case and say "the precedent has been set, the ruling against Dankula streamlines a ruling against others who make similar media."
    However, by fighting the ruling every step of the way and refusing in every feasible way to submit to the court's ruling, Dankula is preventing this case from being precedent for future equally bullshit prosecutions. 800 quid might seem like very little in comparison to years in prison, but accepting that ruling is a very grave consequence for the rights and creative freedom of all content creators in the nation. Dankula knows this, and he is doing everything he can to not become the precedent that allows that to happen.

    • @JamEngulfer
      @JamEngulfer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      vest816: It's very interesting to see people talking at length about a case they don't understand. How can you talk with such certainty when you don't even know what he was actually sentenced for?
      Firstly, it doesn't set a precedent. It actually says in the filing by the judge that the case does not set a precedent. It's a single isolated incident. Secondly, why do people think the guy was sentenced for actually making a dog do a Nazi salute? (I can tell you why: misrepresentation by the media to sell a story). He was sentenced for the 'gas the jews' bit and how he said the phrase repeatedly.
      What people don't seem to realise is that this is a really small court case. He did something wrong, but only enough to warrant a moderate fine.

    • @St-ik5zb
      @St-ik5zb 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ugaboj
      @ugaboj 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +JamEngulfer That doesn't make it any more justifiable. Just the words 'gas the jews' completely removed from context should not be criminalized. There is a difference between saying 'gas the jews' as a command to a crowd of nazis and saying 'gas the jews' in a comedy video in a non-serious context. One is an actual incitement to violence, the other is just an outrageous part of a JOKE. You can say you don't like the joke, you can say you are offended by the joke, but that does not make it criminal.

    I am *disgusted.* This is the second time that I have heard the word, "Maturity" used as a defence when a pedophilic/hebephilic female has gotten involved with an underaged boy.
    A woman in England who was like 28 raped an 11 year old boy. He said no and she forced her body onto him.
    The judge said that the ADULT'S immaturity coupled with the child's maturity made them close enough in age for it not to be considered child molestation or something.
    She didn't face any jail time as far as I remember.
    Even the father of the child said it was a notch in his son's belt. He dated the woman who raped his son.
    I am just angered. It's sick when older men target children and it is just as sick when a woman targets a child.

I certainly don't condone an 18 year old dating a 13 year old, but if the attraction is in spite of age or physical development rather than because of, we can't really label her a pedo/hebe.

    Phil you should really do a story on the Tokyo Medical University scandal. To condense what went on, they were initially being investigated on claims of corruption due to reports of them adding points to the entrance exam of a government officials son in exchange for favors. While they were researching it they ended up finding something far more alarming. Since at least the year 2000 the TMU has been doctoring the test scores for female applicants. They noticed that there were a growing number of women who were being accepted into the school. So they began to lower the test scores of women to make sure that no more than 30% of accepted applicants would be women. They called it a "necessary evil" because they believed that women would drop out of being doctors when they got married or had children.

      The result will be lot's of women failing even so they should have gotten a passing grade.

      CrimpyGummybear Yeah I agree. In the UK the protection of freedom of speech is appalling. You can get arrested for "hate speech". Hate speech does not exist, it can exist if you want it to, or you can ignore it and move on. That's exactly what happened to dankula, and it's just disgusting. Go watch a TH-camr called "Jonathan pie" and his video on dankula's case. It is so hilarious and brave and raises a few good points.

      Women statistically get weaker sentences for the same crimes that men do, so it wouldn’t be a surprise, specially if it’s someone with her looks to just get a slap on the wrist.
      On TH-cam you got people like Keemstar that made a living showing adult youtubers using their influence to pray on young girls mainly but you won’t see her on Drama Alert because, like rape, people just assume males are horny people that will take it from anybody.... fuck that, it’s a minor, and not like a 15 or 16, it’s a 13 year old for fucks sake. That’s a predator with a cute look unlike the weird old man you would typically see on dateline but it shouldn’t influence your opinion. You are judging the action, not the person. The action is sickening and should have law enforcement step in since the parents won’t.

    Sorry but there is no such thing as a mature 13 year old in a sexual relationship with a 18 year old. Maturity is about being able to respond reasonably to an environment. A 13 year old wouldn't think of the repercussions to not using protection. They wouldn't be able to respond reasonably to an abusive relationship. Sorry but when it comes to relationships that have a 5 year age gap with teenagers there is no such thing as maturity.

      i know a lot of 18 year olds and older that can't respond reasonably to an environment as well.
      the issue is that age as a line doesnt work when people are all different. it's a bad choice for the law but we go with it because it's easy then instead of looking at the situation we just ask about the age. obviously that's the law but the arguement is about whether such a law should even exist and how flawed it is since people are different at different ages.
      Think of all those 20 year olds that are not able to respond to an environment who are being raped!!!!
      we should change the age to 20...
      people are just too stupid to understand this idea so we just keep it simple. and it's a way to help get people to take more responsibility instead of mooching off their parents. pick an age. any age. 18. okay cool 18.

    There is no doubt in my mind that this entire situation surrounding an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old is not even worth debating. Their relationship is wrong, and no one, especially not the boys mother, should be condoning it. Anyone who believes otherwise is being FAR too lenient in their judgment.
    As for Dankula, as much as it is a slippery slope to challenge the courts like that...he kind of NEEDS to do it. As someone effectively standing on the precipice of what SHOULD BE a major debate, his innocent actions are being treated as a crime simply because someone got a little too touchy over a JOKE. If you had told me a few years ago that we would be seeing people fired for old jokes they made years ago when they were a different person or being charged with a "hate crime" just for making a humorous video...I would have given you a strange look and then walked away slowly while wondering what side of the moon you just came back from. Now I just have to shake my head and sigh that crap like this is even happening.

    My boyfriend and I are 5 yrs apart but the difference is that I'm 22 and he is 27. While he has more time lived than I do, we both have quite a bit of life experience under our belt. We also can agree on what our future goals are. A child can't think that far realistically and shouldn't be in a relationship with someone who is or has transitioned into the adult phase of their life where their expectations and goals will change.

    • @Naglfar94
      @Naglfar94 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not the case for every individual on this planet ya know? And expectations on what? Be more specific. Your expectations can change at literally any point in time. As long as the two are happy together and there is no abuse etc. going on it is fine and that goes for any so called couple out there.

    • @mithrilbb2636
      @mithrilbb2636 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Naglfar94 you know we are talking about pedophilia being wrong, right? Children dont know what to expect from the adult world and adult relationships. They might have varying degrees of experiences but unless they are super developed orphans that have had to survive the big bad world on their own I highly doubt they have any idea what to expect and are highly susceptible to being manipulated and abused. It's also a lot different if we are talking about a 16 year old and an 18 year old because both their brains in that case would be similarly developed and they have a bit more similarities in life experience and would therefore still be fairly equal in the relationship. This kid in the story is probably just going through puberty and finding himself and how to be independent from Mom, while the female is finding out how to adult and would have the upper hand in the relationship and would be able to influence this kid a great deal rather than it being a partnership like what 2 people of similar age and experience have or 2 adults would have.

    • @Naglfar94
      @Naglfar94 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you are saying does`t make freaking sense in my opinion. and please for the love of all because it is annoying get the terms correct. Pedophilia would be someone 11 or under And that is very extreme. Now back to things teens or to some degree an early teen such as 13. Alright lemme break this up so it is organized.
      1.What is it that is so big and so gigantic that it needs this giant amount of experience to have a relationship? Let me break things down a relationship is the seeking of happiness no? A relationship is being with a person you really connect with and you two share love with one another. As long as both love one another and treat one another with respect and are truly happy together that is pretty much that. What more is there? The core aspect is happiness and love. If the two people are happy together hay I am not gonna knock that. Unless you are the type of person who has ridiculous standards and wants from your other then I can see maybe where you are coming from. But most people just want genuine happiness.
      2.Manipulation and abuse that one is a tough one but it really depends on the individual you can`t speak for everyone or some kind of majority. It depends on many factors the chances of you being manipulated. If you are someone with mental disabilities of some kind, or have lived a life being sheltered away from everything or not being allowed to see much or absorb much knowledge then yeah sure. But really older people are just as likely to fall prey to being manipulated and abused just as much as a younger person don`t speak like as soon as you hit a certain age you are immune. All it takes is someone good enough at what they do and boom done. There are going to be bad apples out there regardless young or old. Another younger person is just as capable of manipulation as someone older. But really if your intent is to manipulate or abuse someone who is supposed to be your ''significant other'' then you don`t need to be in a relationship at all period.
      3.Life experiences okay once again..what is there that needs to be equal again? You are flying over the point love/happiness I could give 2 flying fucks what your life experience is to mine etc. maybe the two people clicked because they as people mix? it goes far deeper than that you don`t know what kind of bond they had,hell they were most likely very good friends and it turned into more like what happens with most all couples. Maybe it was their personalities, maybe they enjoy similar things there are many reasons but most likely they just happened to mix as people,there is something about them both that they each find in one another. It isn`t that hard or difficult to understand. It is just like any other fucking relationship on this planet. The only thing is they have a slight gap in age which isn`t a bad thing.
      so many people are so stuck up on age these days it is honestly sad. There are many people many out there who likely have partners younger than they or found love with a gap in age. And some of these people are very happy hell some have been together for many years. If the two truly love one another what upper hand would she have? Tell me if these two truly love one another which it seems to be then no one has the upper hand over anyone there.
      People don`t fall in love to have upper hands over another, people don`t fall in love just to control another person, people don`t fall in love based off of just experiences alone. If that is how you view love and how you seek it then it is none of my business you do you.

    • @mithrilbb2636
      @mithrilbb2636 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Naglfar94 honestly if you dont understand the difference between 2 consenting adults of varying ages and a child and an adult having a relationship then perhaps you should seek counseling. If you are a child dating someone who is an adult or if you are an adult who is romantically involved with a child then please seek professional help. It's okay to be friends with someone who is a child but not romantically involved until the child is an adult. However from the video, they are already romantically involved as they have shown the world them making out.

    • @Naglfar94
      @Naglfar94 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don`t need professional help just because you and another person are in love. There really is no freaking difference between someone just because their lover is in a different age bracket than them and this non sense needs to stop. Like I said you do you what you seek in your significant other fine but what you look for or want doesn`t speak for every person on this earth and it damn sure enough doesn`t speak for every couple out there in this world. Like I said there are many, many people world wide who have lovers younger than they and are great together. If you or other people decide to put on shades and look over it because it doesn`t fit into what you think societies standards are then that is on you.
      So we are done here because neither of us is going to change the others minds.

    I will fight day and night for the right of teenagers to have their own relationships, to explore the idea of love and intimacy, WITH PEOPLE THEIR OWN AGE. 13 and 18 are not comparable; even if this 13 year old is "mature for his age" the 18 year old is far more developed and far more equipped to make decisions for herself than the 13 year old, and makes this situation inherently predatory. Middle school-age and college-age. That's the developmental difference we're talking about here. I have to wonder if that mother would feel similarly if it was her 13 year old daughter dating an 18 year old man. Either way, totally fucked.

      You can think that way, but you would be wrong! Like i said earlier its based on the culture of the people and where they come from, its a freaking norm, i don't know why ppl think its such a bad thing, there are ppl in other countries who are doing it worse than those two and if they wait few years all this will blow over and be forgotten, you just enjoy ruining ppl's lives because in your moral compass you believe this is wrong and disgusting but you have to look from their perspective, and that wasn't her mom, but the 13 year old kid! I wonder if you have kids and they sneak around and date people who are more older than they're or younger are you teaching them moral values as you automatically assume they're doing something wrong! Arranged marriages is disgusting and morally wrong, compare to the first story!

Sure other things wrong in the world I can advocate for and I do. But this is close enough that I may and everyone else who thinks it's wrong and cause immediate change . Dankula should 100% continue what he's doing. Courts work based on precedent, they often look to what happened in other rulings when deciding similar cases. The precedent this ruling sets is ludicrous and should not stand. I swear Britain is getting closer and closer to actually being V for Vendetta every damn day. Even if he loses and goes to jail he keeps the issue alive and hopefully inspires others to fight on his behalf, it is very much needed.

    I would never presume to tell Markus Meechan (aka CountDankula) what to do in a difficult situation like this, but if he is actually going through with what he said in that video I will immensely respect him and applaud him for his brave and firm stance against censorship and the taking away of his personal freedom of expression. It is important to signal to the courts that this is not okay and that they can‘t just bully people into silence for something as innocuous as a joke video involving a pug doing a nazi salute. Even as a German myself it‘s extremely obvious that this was just satire and no harm was intended or done. Being „offensive“ is not something that should ever be fined. Ridiculous sentencing.

    "Maturity is based on experience" uhhhh no. A 13 year old may have been through a lot, but scientifically, their brain literally cannot be as developed as an adult's. The way they process the world around them, form relationships with other people, etc, it's all at a different developmental level. Even small age gaps are huge between teenagers - like, I probably wouldn't date a 16 year old even though I'm barely 18, because I know when I was 16 I was in a completely different place mentally than I am now. Even if there was no sex involved, that child - and I know we all feel grown up at 13 but we aren't, and that's okay, we don't have to be - was being taken advantage of and used by an adult who should have the fucking decency to know better. The fact that his mother agreed with it is disgusting too.

      There isn't, strictly speaking, any guarantee of 'Freedom of Speech' in the UK. Not in the same way as in the US. The US has a codified and written constitution, the first amendment of which protects 'freedom of expression'. The UK has very 'loose' protections around freedom of expression that favour protection against the misuse of such rather than the protection of such freedom
