This looks like a long process to do, probably easier on a engine that isn't transverse. Did the timing slip or something for the head& piston to get damaged? My dad's Chrysler 300 had the head gasket blow (just under 200k mi) and he wants ME (who doesn't even have a torque wrench) to replace his engine... More than likely I'll send him to a mechanic to do it + it ticks (probably lifters).
@@PlumbCarton5607 no, they hit something on the road , busted a hose, overheated the engine and a valve seat fell off into the piston and destroyed the cylinder head.
You guys are engine gods..On the Pacifica replacing the head gasket is removing the whole front end, disconnecting the transmission and raising the engine necessary? I thought you could just take the top half off the engine off while installed..
You can definitely do it without having to remove the front end, we always take it off to make it easier to get access to everything around it just makes it more convenient for us, and we don’t disconnect the transmission just the front of the engine which is from the engine mount to raise the engine to get access to the timing chains . Otherwise you’ll have to remove the entire engine to do the job we did and that’s way too much work imo.
@@J.PROJECTZ Got it. I know you did extensive deep work on that but if you're "Just" replacing the head gasket it can be done without removing the front end or raising the engine correct?
@seatime674 yes, but you still need to remove the front engine mount to raise and lower the engine as u need to remove the harmonic balancer and set up the timing
No sense! At this moment this video has 5 months ago. This vehicle was obtained in the same year 2023 before the video. It was manipulated before. It is not under insurance. What's this? For me it does not match!
I understand you don't have a lift. Well, and because of that you did so much unnecessary work. It would have been much easier to remove the engine and remove the catalytic converter. Look at the valves. And figure out from which cylinder the antifreeze is pouring. And not remove both heads. You wasted a lot of your time and effort. Learn to repair properly.
@@АлексейПетров-й8ы thanks , but both heads had to come out because it overheated 🥵 and I do this as a hobby I’m not a car mechanic I’m actually an Airplane structural mechanic.
A 2023 needs head gaskets? Let's just savor that for a moment, shall we?
I second this
Well it is a Chrysler after all...😑
Definitely a factory defect has nothing to do with the engine
4:30 silicon might be to not damage or cheate sounds due to vibrations
That’s what I was thinking too vibrations

Whats that bill on the job moms 2019 looks like it needs a new head gasket 😅😅😅

Where did you jack engine when moving it up and down?
From the engine Oil pan just make sure u use a rubber or a piece of wood in between the jack and pan
@@J.PROJECTZ doesn’t the oil pan have to be removed to access bolts going into the timing chain cover?

It was an auction vehicle so automatically no warranty because you buy AS IS.
