It be nice if our pets could walk around our homes.
Most other games have it in their housing so not sure why they wouldn't copy that too.
I think we might get it, we had it in garrison already
That's what the cash shop is for!
Garrison (especially later) actually had some great ideas that could apply to housing. Being able to have pets, even mounts around, having a jukebox (would be great if the music scrolls from the garrison became warband-bound for both garrisons and houses), holiday decor to collect (and they could expand it so there would be even more decor choices per holiday, more holidays plus non-holiday celebration, such as guild events, birthdays or just parties). So, hope they don't reject everything from garrisons just because a lot of people didn't like them (and mostly, they didn't like them, I think BECAUSE it wasn't player housing). All of this could add to the SOCIAL ASPECT of the housing. I mean, having some guildies/friends over for some house parties would be great!
I would expect we do get that, Garrisons do that.
Your home will have a Crendoor.
A Crendor made for home use is known as a Crendorth
They should add a super rare npc mail carrier (rarer than the mad merchant) who, if you’re home at the time and happen to see it passing by, can interact with it and be rewarded with an appropriate cosmetic or mount.
No Man's Sky - no cash shop, no battle pass, no pay DLC, just 8 years of free updates and community.
Neighborhoods is a good idea. The public one especially. Anything that forces interactions between real players, the staple of an MMO, is good.
Maybe with sharding, something similar to LOTRO
@@BeyondDaX Yeah, they need to have some form of sharding in public neighborhoods, otherwise the odds of crossing paths with any of your 50 neighbors are slim.
Real-estating Azeroth. I'm gonna stay optimistic.
It would be nice to have some of the past expansion features combined into it like gardening and farming from Garrison and Pandaria.
I'm wary of this. It will make whatever the current expansion mainhub be a ghost town if they put an AH, bank, profession areas, etc in a neighbourhood
on the flip side if they dont; these neighborhoods wont be populated
@Pandan3D ff14 neighborhoods don't have AH or anything, they are pretty populated
I think bank and mail, but no AH professions or class trainers
If they can do private instances for you and your friends this will be great. As much as I love FFXIV's housing system having to fight players over limited plots really does suck.
why do you want garrisons again
The article says private (guild) and public neighborhoods and also sounds like there's an option for solo players. Each neighborhood has 50 plots as well. Then it will create more phases when needed.
Community, so don't even have to have guilds I reckon. You can use the Community feature, at least thats how it sounds. So yes, you should be able to have a neighbourhood for your purposes. The idea seems to be focused on customizability for RP/Creative outletting, which is good.
FF one is unimersive to a degree until you get inside or where you need to be.
Luckily you don't need to fight anyone for a house as per the article.
I liked how LotRs Online did their player housing system. Yes you had to purchase the lot, but if you want a town you came across with a Playerhousing Instance Portal you could choose, to live there or move your property to that lot. My only negative was the hundreds of abandoned lots I came across. Other than that, let's see how this is handled.
Same problems as servers have to shuffle people around periodically
getting the basics of the system working before branching out and complicating it and underdelivering on previous promises is a better way of handling it.
My only negative so far is that the neighbourhood environments seem to be "Generic Alliance Human" and "Generic Horde Orc", which leaves something to be desired as someone that primarily plays Night Elf characters. I'm hoping that's a temporary thing that will be expanded upon, but it was also one of the big things that people said they wanted to avoid after Garrisons falling into that same homogenous category. There's a fair argument that it made contextual sense for those in Warlords of Draenor, and if the homes we can build can still have variety between racial architecture (which the pillars seem to imply) while not in their environment, then that isn't *so* bad. I can cope with that at launch, but I hope it's a stance that changes in the future.
Agreed. I find those two aesthetics to be some of my least favorite in WoW, not because they are bad, but because there are infinite more cooler aesthetics in the game as far as zones and stuff go.
bel'ameth is literally BUILT for this lol, if they don't do this, they're fing dumb xD
@@tomebundalevski1872 Give it time, they have to start with a limited amount of areas first before they expand to new areas.
@ i mean true, but not expanding to other races/cultures/architectures is kinda dumb imho xD
One way I could see them implementing the private neighborhoods is like a guild wants a private instance, but the guild needs to have 30+ members, something like that.
I really hope professions play a factor in this. How cool would it be for Jewelcrafters to be making fancy lamps? Or tailors making all sorts of curtains and rugs.
Wonder what they'll do for ghost towns where you're the last one in the neighborhood.
Not happy that my undead has to settle for an orc asthetic. Hopefully they roll out more variety fast.
Looks like they took the LOTRO approach to player housing with instanced neighborhoods snd and that’s okay with me.
If it works, this will be the first time blizzard adds something good that expands the game horizontally.
I can't wait to see where this system goes.
It's a good thing the neighborhoods are separate instances because when star wars galexies implimented player housing it ended up creating entire planets of nothing but urban sprawl.
That actually sounds pretty cool! Not something I’d want to see in WoW, though that would be pretty immersion breaking. Just imagining Mulgore being turned into a massive suburban sprawl is heartbreaking. 🤣
What about extending zones like elwynn forest to have enough space just for neighborhoods?
Private neighborhoods? Finally, HOAs in WoW.
But seriously, hopefully it gets good implementation and long term support.
I heard this feature will go beyond the expansion so chances are good
I like how they're handling it. The weird actual housing market simulation and thus competitive housing market in FF14 is really annoying and bad. I really hope they do let private basically let you "invite" friends and people to be in your neighborhood.
I haven't played wow in a while, but I'll come back just for the player housing.
I too am cautiously optimistic, but I am also very excited to see it play out!
I foresee them selling "sets" such as like "for $39.99 buy the night elf set that comes with a minature teldarsil, warden statue for the side table, night elf themed carpets and bed set etc."
And 89,99 for teleporter and longboi doghouse
I haven't touched WoW in years, but I did play a lot of BFA, and it might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually enjoyed the garrison.
Unfortunately the reason I enjoyed it was I could log in to 10 different toons, set up a bunch of contracts and collect a bunch of resources, then log off and let my gold grow without me. It achieved the dream of not needing to actually play the game. Probably not healthy for an MMO, but it does seem like they're going a bit of a different direction here.
I am afraid that the more expensive house models would cost a lot of gold in the game, they say for everyone, but that doesn't mean it's not a high gold cost. After all, another game promised the same thing but ended up costing millions of gold to even get a basic house and the fact that they want to put house parts or even a house itself behind a paywall is something I don't agree with, but the difference here is that we are paying monthly for this game. Wow, it's not a free game, so honestly there shouldn't be an in-game store in the first place. for the game and some of you probably won't agree with that, but they get enough out of us with the monthly payment. If it was just a free game, then there is nothing to complain about it with the in-game store system for a game. but we all saw how greedy Blizzard is with the in game store, think about the in game store promotion, action houses, mount it wasn't cheap, be prepared that a house or parts will have the same price range in gold or real money
it's great that they are finally adding housing, but they are already talking about stuff for it behind a paywall, not a good sign
You say that but you forget that Activision and Microsoft exists so you know, so a cash shop is inevitable. Its not entirely Blizzard's fault, the publisher always want the most money.
Saying one of the most popularly requested features is stolen from another game is crazy. This feature has been requested from the community since vanilla. The idea of player housing came from the community, not any game developer.
the instanced plot system is the exact same system that FFXIV does.
Except the price and the lottery
Mabinogi has a pretty good housing mechanic
i think itll be cool to have a house in a guild neighborhood, i want to show off hardcore. also, congrats on 500k subs!
Still wild to me that Square thought to introduce a lottery for player housing, you can also hardly get an apartment too if you're on a somewhat popular server.
I'd rather be able to set up my house in the swamp where nobody will bother me.
Garrisons were overreacting I just want a nice place to sit back a drink tea
Just let people buy the items on the shop and give them the option of putting them on the AH for gold.
Boom now most people are happy
Heck yeah, about to take a nap and I love falling asleep to crendor talking 😊😊
We have our house... Maybe one day our characters will be able to have a family! Imagine if they gave us an array of non important NPCs to marry and have children with (if you wish to have them). I don't think they'll ever do that and I could imagine most people in the community wouldn't be interested but it'd be cool if our characters could have a personal life!
Blood Elves are the most popular Horde race, it's getting a revamp, and we get orc huts again. Disappointing
The Alliance neighborhoods are going to turn into Moon Guard Goldshire within 30 seconds of going live.
Ain't nuffin' wrong wiff Orc huts
tentatively hoping that housing customization will extend to the outside and we are not all going to be hut dwellers on horde lol
As someone who has played FFXIV nearly daily for more than 13 years (I've also played WoW for many years), I'm excited for anything other games take away from it and improve upon as it might get Yoshida and the XIV devs to finally think "wait... are we really falling this far behind?" and perhaps improve the game. If this is pretty decent it might also make me start playing WoW again.
Hoods will be insane for RP
For nostalgia's sake, i'd rather be able to build in Dun Morogh
my friend and I joked that neighborhoods would lead to roleplaying an HOA 😂😂😂
I am sure they will in the RP servers
Recently maxed my house in old school RuneScape, looking forward to getting a nice house in wow also. I'm crossing my fingers on volatile HOA esque neighborhood drama
So they finally played PoE1 and realized the boat load of money you can make selling cosmetic housing sets eh?
I'd be cool with an option for private instances. Just give me a chance to build a place in Eversong Woods and i'll be fine.
srly.. i am sooo excited... :o kinda can't wait for it. Hopeful we can earn it through more Pve Things or something like that. Like you can have trophie of a boss. o.o like the head of onyxia what could drop from her that would be too awesome.
I like the ff14 one with limited space but everything is real
I love the poke at ffxiv. I have more faith in their housing system than xiv giving two of its races hats so I'm super pumped
Goldshire Inn goina lose their entire clientele.
Finally people can actually go into that Inn without people looking at them funny.
I wonder if the promo shot for the alliance on the blog was between SW and Elwynn or perhaps they give northshire a makeover
"a first look" i expected video footage
Public is probably free, while private you will likely pay gold for as a gold sink.
I would make and play a Horde character just to have a home in Mulgore 😂
No lottery or playing real-estate and it not being sold if you dont have a sub/log in sounds good on paper, but i think they forgot why FF14 does this.
First: There are not enough houses to satisfy the large playerbase, this means there is a shortage leading to playing the realestate game - I dont see how this would be different with wow.
Secondly: Losing your house if you dont log in was a system designed specifically to combat having empty player homes when there are people that want them. To keep the houses populated and rotate player owned housing it became a use it or lose it situation.
For these reasons, unless they have an alternative solution I cant see it being better than FF's housing system.
You'll just have abandoned houses owned by people who are not longer playing the game and still a small market of houses available at any given time.
The only solution i can think of is if it's a house on a specific layer, 2k houses on a layer with 2k pop max on that layer leading to all players being able to technically own a house.
Will still become an issue down the road as more players leave/join however, as old houses will still be occupied leading to a shortage long-term.
I think it's cool that they have neighborhoods, but I feel like it would have been easier to just do something like ESO and have purchasable houses all over the place. Even if it's just one or two houses per city, at least they could be themed for that city. My belf paladin is not really going to fit in this Orc themed hood.
Pointless top ten player housing items in the future??😮
Lol, with cold , you sound the same as usual :D
i kinda like paying for houses with gold for rent etc or out bidding others, but i guess they want to keep it very casual so its fine
As a Horde player this is a big pass for me in relation to where the housing will be. That is exactly what I DIDN'T want. I preferably wanted something in Eversong with the option for Blood Elven architecture, but I would have been fine with many other locations/styles too, just not more endless metal, leather and spikes. They did this with Horde garrisons too. I understand that they are redoing Quel'thalas for Midnight, but as someone who is not currently subbed, I won't be resubbing for the housing unfortunately. Whomp whomp I suppose.
What kind of house will Billy have?
Will it jut be Garrisons (at a cost) marketed different?
As usual, Blizzard is doing the bare minimum. Over time I've come to wonder if Blizzard is actually just a money laundering operation and I'm not even kidding. Or maybe they purposely mismanage funds and overpay their friends. Like where does all the investment actually go? What are the thousands of devs actually working on? Seriously. They have BILLIONS of dollars, literally BILLIONS. People make better content than them as single person dev teams funded by a 20k gofundme. How a billion dollar company does so little so consistently is a genuine bafflement to me. They should be releasing incredible content consistently, it's literally in their own best interest to do so but they just... don''t.
Yesss i always wanted something similar to aion's housing.. but i would like some privacy
I'd like to see as little monetization in World of Warcraft as possible if it were up to me, but I think that this player housing could be fun especially with the private neighborhoods.
As always, thanks for the upload!
Can you bring back the Buy My Shirts shirt?
I hope theyput it in classic, city of heroes had housing, could do quests to get stuff for housing , hope they dobit like that
"No changes!"
Imagine a ''crafter' prof. where you go out, cut down the trees and make the furniture. Dif. types of trees all over Azeroth. That would be soo cool to me. There's just so many possibilities to what they can bring in for housing.
Im pretty sure ffxiv only has a lot of restrictions because of the old ps3 limitations and technical debt grandfathered in. I didn't think WoW would have any of those, but it's good to know what to expect. Feel better soon.
ESO and Wildstar did housing best IMO
to be fair league of legends i was getting skins from chest really quick just for playing the game you didn't have to get a battle pass/cash shop but they removed it so now its permanently a money grab game
Soooo much incorrect information in here.
The first two zones are Alliance and Horde themed, yes. Key word... Themed. They said you can make a house regardless of faction in either. So people really need to stop saying "An Alliance Area and a Horde Area" as that's just misinformation. I get that Crendor's whole thing is non-content or low effort content but the number of people just blatantly spreading misinformation is bad.
I hope i can make my place karazhan lite >.>
Eh. The horde elves and undead need more options for biomes.
What will happen to Lordaeron Ruins? I thought the Alliance had that back? Or is that a Blizzard soon?
The forsaken reclaimed the Lordaeron ruins.
The Forsaken kept Lordaeron, I can't remember if its mentioned they cleaned up the gas from the battlefield or they're still cleaning it up, but yeah, Tirisfal, Silverpine and Hillsbrad are still under the Horde.
I don't know what they mean exactly by public/private neighborhoods. I would assume that public means you will allow other players to tour your homes. In most games there is an option to make your home private or public so just having one setting for an entire neighborhood may just be the easiest. And LOTRO had instanced housing neighborhoods before FFXIV. I don't trust Blizz to make this fully optional. They try to force everyone into everything just once so I assume there will be a non-optional quest to learn about this or visit an NPC's house and do something in it.
@@melissas4874 my impression from the article is that a private neighborhood would be by invitation, so all one guild for instance. So to get a plot, you'd have to be let in. A public one is open for anyone to get a plot, so you don't have control over your neighbors. I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like
Sounds like it's just FXIV housing
This is like 15 years too late.
As a horde player im very unhappy with the choice of zone/concept art.
Durotar is just so plain and boring, id tske Frostfire over it any day.
I aldo find it weird theyre doing faction specific zones even though guilds are cross faction now, it dorsnt mske much sense.
Why do I need a house to begin with? I don't get it. My 'base' is UC.
You don't "need" one. If you don't want one, then don't get one.
It is high time that FFXIV stole from other games as hard as it can. Just use bro's homework already.
FF stole it from ESO
Can you get furniture from IKEA?
I am SO EXCITED. Neighborhoods are above and beyond what I would have imagined.
wtf is this art from Azhara
NOW? NOW! WoW gets player housing now?!?! geez, talk about too little too late...
Nonsense. Never too late.
Finally!
I wish you would figure out what is wrong with your green screen. I do not like watching you anymore.

5:37 your view on cash shop is why it’s allowed to exist. Blizzard could enslave your entire family and u’d prob just say “o well it’s 2025 who’s fam isn’t enslaved”. At least asmongold actually stands for what he believes in u guys just let whatever happen to you
Wow that escalated quickly!
@@elitefew8537 those are certainly words written on the Internet. Good job! Your keyboard works!
I happen to agree with @elitefew8537.
Quoting Asmongold in 2025 is a joke.
Garrisons 2.0
Can we just agree that adulting would be easier if it came with a manual and free chocolate💞
Absolutely bot!
