I happen to know egg-actly what that chicken punching machine is. It's from the goblin racial quest "the biggest egg ever". It was made by Hobart grapple hammer to make omelets. It blew up because we put an egg with a skull on it, in it.

The Darkshire sign get to be weird for 2 reasons actually
Because that wasn't the towns name until after Brightwood was corrupted and became Duskwood, that means the town got together after their province/zone became super depressing, and got a new welcome to town sign made.
Crendor, the ruins are part of the Order of Embers quest line. You have to protect Waycrest from the Revenants.
Thousand needles being a lake still feels weird.
Technically it's a bay or similar because it's ocean water
Map needs a revamp, leave the lake or bay in the south, but then drain the north and central sections

5:30 Funfact, that Draenor Time-Lost Drake corpse used to trigger the NPCscan addon and you had to reset cache to use it hunt for the actual lootable Time-Lost Drake. I think that means it’s the actual same NPCid but I could be wrong
If it’s the same ID, maybe the implication is that it’s constantly warping to different timelines and it explains why it respawns after a relatively short while. Not an entirely airtight theory, but it’s a fun on I guess.
It’s a joke for players. It’s time lost, and the quest we do here is about the bronze flight and time travel. It’s showing why it’s “time lost” seeing it in other times
Or maybe, this is where time lost is when not spawned for looting if its the same ID. Its one of those has anyone seen bruce wayne and batman in the same room at the same time, kinda things. I would love to know if someone spots the lootable one, if this corpse isnt here or if the corpse shows up when someone kills the lootable one

Maybe those rats from #10 are a reference to Kopi Luwak coffee beans, except it's cheaply made with rat poops instead that of an exotic rainforest animal.

No, that reference is used in Kun Lai Summit, the goats eating the kafa plants and you eventually get a quest to retrieve the seeds (beans) to make kafa.

How do you read the quests?
They have English EVERYWHERE this list is meh. All the journals we read are in English. When we get a readable quest item with English words
My favorite thing that I ever just stumbled across was the caverns of consumption. Totally came across them by accident and had no idea what I had found.. took pictures of my hunter just chilling there trying to figure out wtf was gojng on.
And not to flex (I am absolutely flexing on purpose) but I found them with my time lost proto-drake.
Good old Time-Lost Proto-Drake. I was lucky enough to randomly stumble upon it while herbing. Ofc it was with my druid and in WotLK, so it was kinda pointless. Luckily in Cata they made the mounts account wide.

Dalaran sewers used to be the place to be on my server in wrath back in the day. This brought back memories of that dirty underground sewer. Makes me miss playing with my rl friends when wow was still popping off and everyone was playing
In regards to number 4, the large "Quilboar Furnace" Isnt actually a furnace at all. Its an over the quilboar use to cook the people they kidnap from the barrens. There is a quest in classic that explains this. Its the escort quest in that dunegon actually.
The quest reads:
"Near the entrance is an idol that functions as a macabre oven for the Quilboar; the beasts... they literally consume their abductees from the Barrens. I can shut down the idol and bind them from using it again, but I need your aid in doing so. My plan: escort me to the idol. Once we arrive, I'll commence the ritual. I'll barely be able to communicate with you, let alone defend myself. Protect me while I shut down the idol. If they take me down, then it's all over for us."

@@maxhill4370 BFA questing for Ally is actually pretty good. I was main horde in BFA and the horde side is such rubbish, but when I lvled an alliance alt it was actually kinda fun quests, story lines and NPCs
The time lost protodrake was put there because I asked about it to someone who was a gm at the time when i was playing that expansion when it was current. They said it was put there to mess with people who have the rare scanners and give them a little jump and confusion. "Just a bit of trolling" to the people who don't have it. xD
My first thought about English lettering was the placards in Stormwind for the statues in the Valley of Heroes.

The chicken -> Egg machine makes me think of the claymation film from 2000, Chicken run. I can be wrong though. During a sequence of the movie they strap the heroine (hen) into a machine that would in the end turnout to be the process of making chicken pie.

It makes me feel old that just regular ass dungeon mechanics are 'things you never noticed' because nobody plays the content anymore
Ive known number 1 for so long because our roleplay base was located in westfall
i got super randomly lucky when i got timelost, back in 2010 during the tail end of cata my old pc was dying, it being an older computer there was some issue with certain areas like storm peaks or deepholm would cause crashing, when i finally got my new pc i went through old areas i hadnt been for a while and i decided to afk at bors breath and watch youtube, as i am i hear wings so i check back and find an enemy druid i get annoyed thinking he may attack me but he leaves, not long later i hear wings again thinking the druid was back so i tabbed back over and boom timelost in my face! ill never forget that day i was so happy!
Man it’s been years since I’ve seen a crendor video I miss the old vids I took a break in bfa and I’d have to say that was the last time I seen a video from you glad I found it again RESUB TIME
The timelost protodrake is just a Blizzard troll. It triggered the addon too
recently returned to WoW because of the lull in warframe updates until march, and ive been reccomended crendor's channel and i've been binging it for almost a week now! love the rambling, its very relatable to how i speak when i'm talking about things i'm passionate about, so thanks crendor :)

My favourite hidden place is the lake behind Ravenholdt manor. You go past the manor across the garden and it looks like you are heading off the cliff, but then you turn left and stick to the wall and then you come across a small hidden field, with trees and a lake. I used to go there and make a campfire and fish. Good times.
That #1 is probably the best #1 of any of the pointless videos

Number 5 (the Time-Lost Protodrake), is actually the area that Kairoz (a Bronze Dragon) and Garrosh arrive in when Garrosh escapes from captivity. Kairozdormu takes him 35 years into the past, to Draenor, where Garrosh then forms the Iron Horde. I'm guessing the TLPD got sucked into the Time-travel and died there, probably by Garrosh's hand (Garrosh also killed Kairoz).
The place where the dead time-lost proto-drake is, is where Kairozdormu and Garrosh arrived after the events of the War Crimes book.
Weird that I’ve been thinking about the time lost drake for apparently no reason that last few days.
I think the time lost protodrake is just a reference to yes it's "time lost" but also farmers bemoaning when they find it dead.

Just wanted to say... never say never! I got my TLPD just like the way you said! i went to K3 for some totaly other reason and there he came! killed it and got the munt just like that! so it CAN happend just most likely extremely rare!

One of my favorite pointless top 10 is Tree, I miss those Trees, this series is great, glad to watch whenever it comes up, in my feed, or my WoW playlist, or my Watch Later, or from streams
Don't chat their often, but the streams are always nice, and seeing a new pointless top 10 is always nice, and number 8, I feel I noticed at some point in the past, I always interesting in those goblin mechanisms
To add onto the number 1 spot, I noticed this quite a long while ago, and I feel that with the Humans living there, the signs are in English, could be altered if playing with a different language, but every race has their own languages, Elven, Human, Gnomish, Orcish, Tauren, etc, Could be from the idea Humans speak, well, Human and made the signs in their language
The arbor at the entrance to Darkshire is spelled out in English too!

Thankfully, Blizz has updated the time lost protodrake so it spawns more regularly and can't be kited away to hide it underground. It's actual really easy to get now.

The rats might just be some silly thing or it could be a really, really vague reference to "Demolition Man" where John Spartan is in the sewers below the city and gets a rat burger.

9 is probably a giant thresher, they seem to grow to fit the size of their environment, lake threshers tend to be pretty small so given enough time in an ocean they could probably grow large enough to tip over a standard ship

About #1 i'm not pretty sure but I think there was a human town around F. Hills where is the only doghouse I can recall ingame, also with the name "Stanley". Not as a remarcable as Darkshire but it's something

I did eventually get the Time-Lost Proto Drake. But once I saw him while on a flight path, and by the time I landed and got back there it was dead. I never used flight masters in Storm Peaks again after that day.
My guess is they'd originally planned to have English words all over the place among the devs, but then someone got back to them from the people who came in later to discuss the localization and they were like "Hold up... If you do this, it's going to be really weird when we translate the rest of the game to other languages if there's a bunch of English words all over the place in the world... So either 1. You stop doing that. 2. You accept that a bunch of foreigners are going to see all these words they don't understand (maybe they don't even have the same alphabet). 3. You make a TON more work for yourselves in the long run needing to go back and translate all these assets to have a German, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Greek, etc. version...
And so they probably went with the first idea of just stop (mostly) doing that...
ALSO one eerie kinda thing for me with Darkshire is it makes me think of a certain concentration camp that the Germans had with "Work Will Set You Free" above the gate as you enter (a lie, given no one was set free due to the work they did there, unless I guess you count work being what made them keep you alive until ultimately Allied forces set the prisoners free... But that wasn't really what the intent of that message was...) But yeah, that's kinda what I think of whenever I see text like that in a dark metal above a gate...
Name localization came only with Burning Crusade though. Until then place and person names were not localized to other languages. However it might have been planned from the start.

#10 rats is surely a reference to the bizarre news that came up like 15 years ago? where it turns out the most expensive / "best" coffee has to go through some sort of cat's digestive system. I'm sure some dev at blizzard had a real creepy obsession with that and just kept bringing it up at every meeting and was drawing a whole art book of butts leaking into coffee during every meeting. Back when blizzard didn't have HR of course so there was nothing anybody could do. Finally they just let him work in a corner for a while to develop this wow room and he probably switched to screaming about the f'n rat AI until he got laid off. Probably was Thor.

Such as the Ironforge Musuem. It doesn’t need to be there, afaik there is no purpose other than to have little bits of lore and make it feel alive. I just stumbled upon it randomly and spent a while soaking it in
The boar idol reminds me of how the idol of Moloch is depicted.
Maybe the weird machine is just taking a REEEEAAAAALLLLYYYY long time to make a carrot cake...
the dead tlpd is also fucking with your rare spawn tracker addons, cause everytime i walked/flew past near the spot, my addons would just scream at me and you can imagine how angry it made me whenever that happened.
Maybe the skeleton underwater was the result of a battle between someone and a flying creature that was poisoned or felled midair and falling into the water with its mouth pinning and drowning the assailant.
Tlpd doesnt spawn until theres been player activity in the map for atleast 2hours. Use addon NPC time to know if you "opened" the map or to know if someone else is there. Spam targeting macro with the noises and raidwarnings messages. Also, do this on a "dead" server during a "dead" hour. I got mine using this method, logged in at 5am on a sunday 😂
Doing the Waycrest and just Drustvar leveling is something I highly recommend. Super cool
The Goblin machine is an Everlasting Gob-Stopper!
5:55 so apparently there's fairly "easy" way to get TLPD, though time consuming:
First you need to create fresh character, best from allied race as it's level 10 from the start, on low pop server (RP is probably the best).
Then you choose Chromie Time that is NOT Northred, so for example Draenor ;)
Then you get to at least level 30 or so on that character along with some decent gear for that level, you might even lock XP gain to keep that gear scaling at proper level. Levels 40, 50 or 60 should work too as long as you don't get to 70 and exit Chromie Time.
And finally you go to Storm Peaks and camp around that one valley where it's most of its routes cross.
Respawn time is I think 8 to 24h? 8 to 16h or something counting from NPCs spawning in the area or last kill, whichever is younger. So NPC Time addon might help to see when NPCs around were spawned, because if there's no player around and NPCs despawn, respawn timer is reset (or so I was told). Turning on Warmode for even less chance of spotting player might be useful, though with its own risks.
Personally I'm still around 10 levels and good gear away from that. Also finding some time to actually be able to camp it while doing something else on other monitor.
I think number 8 is supposed to be a chicken soup machine... only thing I can think of with chicken, carrot, and salt/pepper going together.

damn now i got spoiled two caves that transitioned from the "explore" list to the "to do" list, i.e. from something interesting u may stumble across and gain a reward for it, to some chore that one has to be done ... 😫
I believe number 8 is a poultryizer think it was in the goblin starting zone lost isle's town in a box specifically aswell
5:40 It was a troll. Plain and simple. The devs went out of their way to give it the same npc id as the one in Northrend so every time you got anywhere near it, your NPCScan addon of choice would start going off.
#7 is isn't a secret cave, one of the major storyline quests takes place there.

I randomly stumbled across the Time-Lost Proto-Drake back in WotLK. I was a fresh-faced lvl 80 (probably less) out exploring with my new unlocked cold weather flying and had no idea what it was at the time. I just thought it would be fun to try and kill!
Unfortunately for me, just as I was finishing it (yay I won) a group of horde players appeared (not yay, they were very angry) and nuked me. I was caught by complete surprise and didn't loot before the stunlock. They then proceeded to guard the unlooted corpse until it despawned... :(
So in short, you could be the guy who killed it, but didn't get anything other than a story! XD

Crendor how did I get the Time lost drake before you? You want the quickest way? Make an alt on a PVP-RP server. Park it in the mountains. Log on it every now and then.
could the underwater skeleton be a reference to Jaws 3. The one where near the end you see a guy stuck in the sharks teeth.
blizzard added BFA meta so people ARE running around bfa areas again. I found that area when I was doing my alliance side stuff

I always assume cute things like these were the ideas of Blizzard employees who took the job because they truly love the game, and put up with the infamous BS of working there to make it better. I never give any credit to the company. Just the artists and creators.
