- This video will tell the viewers about Baiju Bawra - a film released in 1952 - that Dilip Kumar refused and later regretted. Dilip Kumar turned down this movie since he was not happy with the remuneration offered to him by Vijay Bhatt, the director of Baiju Bawra. Many years later however Dilip Kumar in an interview confessed his regret about not doing Baiju Bawra which had Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari in the lead roles. Meena Kumari won her first Filmfare award for working in Baiju Bawra. This video also talks about the songs of Baiju Bawra written by Shakeel Badayuni and the music of Baiju Bawra involving music director Naushad who too received a Filmfare award for the song 'Tu ganga ki mauj, main jamna ka dhara'.

How did producers make Sholay and Deewar at RS one crore budget or 3 crore budget because it was huge budget at that time. I might think producers might have taken loan from Lalas or seths of Bombay. Who paid these producers to make film on biggest budget like RS one crore for Deewar and 3 crore for Sholay. ..

In Baiju Baawraa Bharat Bhooshan'sn acting was superb . No star could play his role as beautifully , powerfully and impressively as Bharat Bhooshan did . He was no great star but certainly a great actor he was . He had proved his abilities and rich talents in Kavi , Mirza Ghalib , Chaitanya MahaaaPrabhu , Basant Bahaar, Barsaat Ki Raat , Rani Roopmati , Sangeet Samraat Tansen , Kavi Kalidas . He was the fittest and most ideal choice for the role of a poet or singer . I had seen BaijuBaawraa 3 times in 1952 and then countless times in my life .Not understanding even A B C of classical music, I saw Basant Bahaar, Shbaab , Goonj Uthi Shehnaai Rani Roopmati Sageet Samraat Tansen because there were songs by classical stalwarts like Pandit Paluskar , Amir Khan Sahab , Krishna Rao Chonkar , Pt . Bhimsen Joshi and Manna Dey who was thoroughly trained in classical music by his
renowned chacha K. C. Dey . Baiju Baawraa has all the good and beautiful things and qualities in it . In all respects it is the best film of the last century . Naushad ji was a real sangeetkaar . He never attached any important to money . He was a gem . He couldn't keep himself away from classical music . His contribution to Indian music is highly praiseworthy and matchless

I am glad Dilip Kumar Sahib rejected. Bharat Bhushan Sahib did a memorable job. Meena Kumari Sahiba fitted perfectly.
yes as Bharat Bhushan had a good taste in music whereas Dilip Kumar was known as the tragedy king of Bollywood hence he played more melodramatic roles but Bharat Bhushan's portrayal in Baijuu Bawwra was legendary, don't know how will the remix by slb will perform in the box office
May be you are right ۔ But the Naushad recommended the name of Bharat Bhushan ۔ Because for this role new face was required as Baiju Bawara ۔ Vijay Bhat agreed ۔ Otherwise people would have forget Baiju Bawara and remember Dilip Kumar ۔
